Pap's Pizza Parlor is a fun place for pizza. The kids love their play room. They are very helpful with fundraisers, and help all the local schools. They are a bit on the pricey side, but the pizza is very good.

I remember Papa's Pizza on Main from my youth. The big hamster wheel, the ball pit, flavorful, mouth-watering pizza with stringy cheese that could stretch for a mile.

Perhaps it's that I'm adult now. My palate has changed, my criterion for choosing a restaurant have evolved beyond the play equipment. I just don't feel the same about Papa's that I used to.

The play area is dated and smells of pee. The playground attendants are still the same killjoys they always were- but now they're too busy glowering or texting on their cell phones to keep kids from beating each other senseless. Why not hire an attendant who will actually interface with the kids, maybe one who even likes them?

The pizza used to be so delicious my father asked me to mail him him a slice cross-country. They've changed the cheese, and I'm not sure what they did to the crust but it tastes like squeezie cheese on a saltine. The tops is usually greasy.

I have to say the salad bar is still excellent. The shrimp is always off, though. I always get it frozen when I ask for it on the side for my salad. And salad or pizza, the shrimp usually has shells.

It's always been an irritation that you have to purchase drinks separately, but thankfully they finally installed a card reader at the drink counter.

I miss the occasional organ player, though, which lent a joyful atmosphere.

The place is still as busy as always, though, so they're doing something right!

This is a great place to take the family for pizza. This is also a great place for a birthday party! They have a great play area with playground equipment inside. Their pizza tastes great. They have the best sauce and the best crust I have tasted! Their pizza selection is phenomenal!!

Message from Papas Pizza-Springfield

Papa’s Pizza opened on June 2nd, 1971 at the corner of W. 11th and Chambers in Eugene by Wayne and Maxine Weber. Both of their children have been involved, their daughter still owns the two Eugene locations and when their son retired the other three locations became management owned.

Papa’s got its name when the founder told his wife that he was planning to open a pizza parlor. She told him “you better name it Papa’s because Mama won’t have anything to do with it”. We all take great pride in the family atmosphere that has been created over the years in our pizza parlors. It is our commitment to support the community with fundraising for non-profit organizations, schools, churches and those with medical needs.

Papa’s currently operates pizza parlors in Eugene, Springfield, Corvallis, and Beaverton. All locations have covered play areas, banquet facilities and offer free delivery. We use quality ingredients, mix our dough daily, and purchase locally whenever possible.

Come join us for a “Slice of Family Fun” in the near future!
