I was really excited to have a quaint coffee shop just blocks from my house. With high hopes, I walked in only to be treated with a rude and almost snobby attitude from the barista. I was treated with such disdain that I not only refuse to return, but I tell all my friends when they come to visit, that I REFUSE to go back to the Coffee Plant. Refuse.

Don't waste your time, go just a few blocks down to one of the many other coffee shops.

Much like the other Coffee Plant there is not only good coffee and tea here, but Gluten free foods to enjoy as well. My favorite being the chocolate chip scones, such a delicious treat, so flaky you would never know it was gluten free

they serve stumptom coffee which is always great, the gluten free treats are delicious too. However the last time I was there, the kids play area was pretty yucky, there was a "slug trail" running across the rug, with no slug in sight- ughh I did not want my kiddos playing there. Slugs aside this is a great place to grab a great coffee and gluten free treat!

My partner just moved into the neighborhood, so we were excited to find a coffee shop nearby that we could walk to on the weekends. As soon as we walked in on Sunday 9/6, we were greeted by the barista who could barely say hi to us because her fingers were too busy fishing out food from her teeth. I was shocked to see her then wipe her hands on her apron, grab me a cup of coffee, make change, help another customer, then continue to eat behind the counter all in plain view of the customers...without ever once washing her hands! I was so turned off I will lobby to never go here again, even though the space is great with cool photos on the walls and Stumptown beans. I'm all for Portland hipster barista culture, but not the blatant disregard for common sanitary safety procedures. What a total let down for a promising neighborhood coffee place.

Pros: Cool residential area

Cons: Gross service

If you need gluten free you are in the right place. Lots of pastries that are made just for you! The coffee is good but the latte' & mocha were not so much for my palate. It's pretty hip and a fun place to gather though.

I love the space and I absolutely LOVE the fact that Stumptown French press coffee is an option for my travel coffee mug. But, in three of the four times I have been there, I have been faced with very unfriendly help from one woman. What is even more baffling is that, on one visit, she was overly friendly to the "earthy" couple with the dog that was in front of me but rude and short when it became my turn to order. Perhaps the business clothes I was dressed in offended her. A form of hipster snobbery?? Starbucks is just a few blocks from this Coffee Plant and I never feel uncomfortable walking in there even though I loathe their coffee. Kindly suggestion to this newer business, please work on the employee attitude if you want to remain in business. Excellent coffee and pastries should be served by excellent staff.
