the ambiance has changed since the new family bought it - tvs are gone, and fabric "tents" cover the tables. Raven777 should try again :D the food is delightful and I have not been disappointed by any menu item yet. the lunch special

I love Middle Eastern food, so it was nice to live within walking distance of Oasis. Good portions at a good price. Kibbeh and shawarma quite tasty. My main complaint was that food was a bit sour at times -- too much lemon maybe? Nice ambiance.

I love Lebanese food, and Oasis did not disappoint! The kibbeh was very good, the bread nice and fresh, and the fatoush was also excellent. Definitely someplace I'll be going back to. The service was very friendly as well.

Excellent Lebanese in Beaverton, who would have thought. The service was very fast and friendly. We picked a selection of appetizers and salad and had a very satisfying lunch. I had never had meat on hummus before, but the allspice in the meat went really well with the hummus. The salad had a very lemony house dressing on it and the lettuce was very fresh. The decor is calming and exotic. There are two lounging couches that would be good for a coffee or tea.

Pros: best middle eastern restaurant

.

I have eaten at many Middle Eastern restaurants in Portland as well as many large cities. This food was, by far, the worst.

The first thing I noticed is the lighting. It is way too bright for a restaurant. Plus, the two TVs going with videos put me over the visual edge. The "artwork" on the walls appears to be an after thought. Not a relaxing place.

But more than the atmosphere, the food... I think the chef must have one seasoning.. SALT! I suspect that the standards, hummus, baba ganoush, etc. must not have been fresh due to all of the salt. In fact, it was hard to tell the baba from the hummus. No kidding. Where was the texture? The garlic? The high quality olive oil? Flavor? The mezza is not a good choice. The tabbouleh was edible, though, again, salty.

I will say the falafel was "ok plus." The bread is fresh and warm. The service was fine.

For $12.95, the Mezza was over-priced and the servings were small. However, it didn't matter because most of it was inedible. Compared with Al Amir and Hoda's, this place doesn't even count as a Middle Eastern restaurant.

Our 17 year old summed it up in a nutshell. "The after dinner mint was refreshing. It tasted better than the food."

Pros: Easy Parking in a strip mall? Falafel, bread

Cons: Lighting, food quality, expense for what is served

Though a new family has taken over, the quality of the food is still great! I love their lentil soup, and for those Muslims and people in general that care about how the animal you are eating was raised--they have Halal food! Enjoy!

Be aware - as of this writing another family has taken over the business within the last week and I have to say it's the best Lebanese place in the PDX area. I love Karam and Habibi and have yet to try Al Amir. The dishes we had outshined them all. As far as the previous sour comments go, not the case anymore. The falafel and babaganoush were great and their stuffed grape leaves were fantastic. I also had the Chicken Shawarma and it was very tasty with a nice creamy garlic sauce. The owners are classically warm and friendly just like their brethren downtown and the service was perfect with a quick delivery of all the food.
Without question I'll be hitting this place again and again. BTW, the atmosphere is excellent. Nicely decorated inside with a very warm decor. Also some outdoor seating is available for kicking back on a warm summer night.
When we went, the new owners had not got their liquor license YET so we missed having some wine with our eats. I would say that was the only negative and that's a temporary situation. Try this place and do it soon, you will not be sorry.

Pros: Food is cooked perfectly

Cons: Waiting for that liquor license.

This is a wonderful little place that serves excellent food. The place is very comely and run by a family. No we-are-in-a-business kind of feel. A must try for vegeteraneans as well. I go there very often and also have introduced several friends to the place. They all loved it. The only tip I have for you is that the food could be a little too sour for your liking. I always request for 'less lemon' and then things are perfect.

This restaurant is a gem. Elegant, yet comfortable decor, and as soon as we walked inside, the aromas surrounded us. Our meals were delectable and the service was excellent. I'd love to see more customers here. I agree with the previous raters who gave them high marks - it's a great place. I highly recommend it.

This is the best middle eastern restaurant I have been to in the Portland area or anywhere else! The food here is simply amazing. Each dish is unique and contains the right amount of flavor. The pita breads served hot from the oven are so tasty I frequently eat them without any condiments! I have tried both vegetarian and non vegetarian entrees and found both to be equal in taste. Vegetarian dishes are not base substitutes of their non-vegetarian counterparts. Service is a little slow and hours are limited. But it isn't crowded. So far I have never had to wait to get a table, even on Friday/Saturday evenings. The staff (I believe this is a family owned business) is extremely courteous and very friendly. I would recommend this to everyone who likes middle eastern food.

I also disagree with the first review. I came away feeling like the food at the Oasis was the best I've tasted in a long time. My chicken shwarma was soooo good I tried not to wolf it down. The yogurt sauce added the perfect touch. The green salad was made with an oil, lemon juice dressing like I make mine at home and the the hummus was perfectly smooth and flavorful - not bland like it sometimes can be. The waiter was attentive and kind. And I was pleasantly surprised by the clean decor. The cost is average. I just can't say enough about them. Too bad I live a half hour away, I'd probably eat there all the time!!

I have to disagree with the first comment. I have tried several dishes at The Oasis and I have not been dissappointed yet. I have also tried the Chicken Shawerma, it was very good and it has to be a bit zesty, but there are plenty of other dishes that are really really good. The restaurant is very cute and great service. I really like the fact that they can cater to children, they modify what they serve. Oh and please try the dessert it is soooooooooooooooo good!!!!!I have tried other Lebanese restaurants and everything is boughten premade, at Oasis they make it from scratch, almost like eating at home!

I visited the restaurant and only ordered an entree of chicken sharwama. The dish came with sides of hummus, a salad and pita bread. Generally, I found the food overly sour. Everything except the bread was rather sour. If they toned down the sourness some, the flavors would come out better. The bread was also a little dry and thin, rather than the doughy kind I've had and prefer in the old city Jerusalem.

The restaurant was rather empty when I visited, and service was very attentive.
