Manager was completely rude to people at the table next to us. There was a question about the bill ( over charging for drinks), the manager flipped out and grabbed money from one of the girl's hand. We were all in complete shock to be witnessing such bizarre behavior from the manager at Bay 13.

Will NEVER recommend this place again!! Great job manager on loosing your cool... you have lost lots of future business.

Pros: good food

Cons: horrible service!!

Went on a Sunday evening and ordered almost 1 of everything from the menu. The mussels were fishy tasting and we got a refund. The sushi rolls had small fish bones in them. The rest of the food was overpriced, mediocre at best. Not worth the money and the seafood was not fresh. Would never go back again.

The food at Happy Hour is unique and priced so right. Had the green beans: would have never guessed I'd get addicted due to the savory sweet/sour glaze that they are flashed in via the super hot wok. They are like healthy green french fries; got two orders for the four of us. Also, the spicy tuna has just enough heat to allow the flavor to shine through. We sat on the outdoor patio and really enjoyed how the furniture is set up: made new friends that night since the set up outside is very social and welcomes conversation. Come Spring, the patio is going to be the best real estate in the Pearl. Certainly going back and highly recommended to anyone who's always wondered but never went. Stop reading and GO !

Pros: Outdoor seating, heat lamps & furniture setup = easy social

Cons: Always a Catch22 = great crowds require patience at the bar

Bay 13 is a beautiful restaurant in the Pearl. I threw my husband's 40th birthday party there and it was a fabulous experience! We had about 15-20 people at any one time and the servers took great care of us. We had the the Bay 13 Platter which came with Lobster, Oysters, Shrimp and King Crab legs, as well as the Ahi Poke and Bay 13 Ceviche- all the food was wonderful- but the King Crab was absolutely amazing! I would also highly recommend the Crispy Chicken Breast with Polenta and Bacon as well as the Braised Short Ribs. If you have not tried this restaurant I highly encourage you to do so- there is no better place for great seafood in Portland.

What a let down, the best item we ate was the simple field greens salad. The steamer clams were not only suspect as old but the broth they came in had so much rice wine you could have lit it on fire. The striped bass was drenched in oil and served over ordinary slightly green tomatoes, not heirloom. The scallops were fine but the squid ink gnocchi they were served on was completely bland. As good seafood restaurants in PDX abound, they've missed the boat. As for their sushi, the spicy tuna roll was nothing special so I don't see Bay 13 as a destination for a sushi experience either.

i have to admit, i've only been there for appetizers and drinks, but both experiences were very good. my friends and i sat at the bar, tried a variety of small plate items, and probably 2 too many beverages. everything, including the service, was very enjoyable. a little pricey, but incredible atmosphere! it's worth it.

This great place if you want sushi or seafood and lively atmosphere. Can be a romantic dinner for two or an evening out with the girls, sharing sushi and oysters or endulging in one of the entrees.
As for sushi the "king roll" is a crowd pleaser, tempura shrimp and crab, etc., nice presenation too!
The fish and chips were a healthier version of what you would get at a pub but still satisfied the urge for something breaded, add a side of mustard greens and you have a well rounded meal.
The scallop entree is fabulous and appropriately portioned. Wine options are good.
Servers are friendly and attentive but not hovering.
The interior is original an unlike any other in Portland. We'll be back for sure!

My boyfriend of I ventured to the Pearl from Southeast in search of seafood, Bay 13 had been recommended to us when we asked around about oysters on the halfshell. When we walked in we were floored by the beautiful, minimalist feel of the converted warehouse, a really amazing space. We sat at the bar for a cocktail before dinner and found the service to be a very pleasant change from the all-too-usual amateur, aloof attitude we find at bars in the Pearl (and all over Portland). The bartender made us tasty, perfectly executed manhattans and was eager to talk to us about the menu. The man in the attached oyster bar chatted with us at length about the oysters they had on hand. We decided the cocktail area more to our tastes, the dining room felt a bit too formal for our mood (though a party in their banquet room seemed quite boisterous!). Our cocktail server was efficient, friendly and professional without being over-attentive, we had some surprisingly tasty sushi, and the oysters we had been seeking were beautiful, fresh and perfectly shucked. The wine list was really complementary to the cuisine, and we left feeling like we had had one of the best service and food service experiences we had in a while, especially as we don?t leave our favorite haunts in southeast very often, and rarely find ourselves in the Pearl. The people-watching in the bar was stellar and hysterical, and it certainly got louder and more energetic as the night went on. We hope to sit in the dining room next time we are looking for a sit-down dinner; they really seem to have the balance of great service and great food! Also, we always appreciate someone asking about our experience as we leave an establishment and we were not let down, the host/manager was very sincere.

Pros: Great service, Amazing oysters, free bottled water

Cons: Could get noisy from private parties, parking is iffy

I'm not a huge fan of the warehouse/industrial trend so I didn't love the atmosphere at Bay 13. Aside from that my experience was positive. My sister and I wanted to go out, have a drink and nibble on some things so Bay 13 seemed llike the place to go. The bar was packed, the cocktails were tasty and our nibbles were exactly what we were in the mood for - the spicy tuna roll and the sweet potato fries are awesome! We'd definately come back for a girl's night out.

I went to bay 13 with my boyfriend last night - we went a few months ago and weren't terribly impressed but it's close by so we figured we'd give it another shot. Last time we we went it felt like the menu didn't match portland, let alone the pearl, so we were happy to see some sushi and snacks back on the menu. Our service was a little spotty, we waited a while between courses and for some more bread but our waitress was pleasant enough and gave us a great recommendation on wine to go with our sushi - which was definately worth coming back for. All in all I'm glad Bay 13 is in the hood.

My husband and I went to Bay 13 the other night and had a wonderful experience! We are so happy that the sushi is back on the menu. We had the king roll, hamachi and a dozen EXTREMELY FRESH oysters. We also had to nibble the sweet potato fries as they are the best fries in town. As we had so many appetizers, we decided to share the Scallop dinner and we were so glad we did- they absolutely melted in our mouths. If you haven't tried Bay 13, or have not been back since they changed their menu, you should definitley stop in for some great food- you will not be sorry!

I met some friends for a few cocktails and ended up splitting a few entrees in the bar. (These are great to share as another option to the appetizer menu). Looking for some comfort food, we went with the Braised Short Ribs?the perfect choice. The ribs were perfectly tender and served on a mound of creamy mashed potatoes and finished with some nicely sauteed green beans. (Might just have to have this again tomorrow). Another friend ordered the scallops. The menu description didn?t grab my attention but it was very nicely done. The scallops were melt in your mouth delicious. They were served on what seemed to be an odd pairing (sweet potatoes??) but it worked perfectly! We had a few of our favorites (the King Roll and the spicy Edamame) as well. For desert our server suggested the Coconut Panna Cotta. Since I?m not a Flan/Creme Brule/Panna Cotta fan, I opted to drink my desert (Spanish Coffee, nice!). However, once I saw my friend?s Panna Cotta covered in a mound of toasted cashews, I decided to give it a try. Wow! Not that I need to have another ?favorite dessert? but this was seriously the best dessert I?ve had in a long time. It was served perfectly chilled with toasted coconut. Yum! Four of us shared the food above for a perfect light dinner in the bar. We?ll be back!

My husband and I went to Bay 13 on 3/8. We had a high expertation for Bay 13 , but it turns out very disspointing. We both decide not to go there anymore.

1) We ordered a dozen of oysters, 3 of 12 oysters were too tiny to dig out any meat. We asked waitor to return this dish, he did. We just wondered how the chef let those uneatable oysters delivered to customers. Because they aretaking chance or they jsut don't care. This is way out of common sense.

2) The bread was cold and not fresh. Isn't the purpose of using napkin to wrap bread is because the bread is supposed to be hot ????

3) soup was too salty

4) Entree was too salty to eat.

Bay 13 has been ranked as $$$, so it's really not worth to go there again to have poor quality of food.

great atmosphere, good food, but pricey for the quantity. i thought the staff was freindly. seemed like there were a ton of servers swarming the floor. it's not the relaxing type of dining experience, but enjoyable overall.

We can only agree with the previous review. The new menu is lackluster and turned us off right away. We used to visit this restaurant several times a month, for lunch and dinner. The last time we went we stayed for a cocktail and then left due to poor menu choices. On our way out we spoke with the dining room manager and shared our disappointment and to say how much we had loved the Tombo tuna dishes, the ahi poke, the sweet potato fries etc and his response, rather than a polite Thank You, was "We can't pay the rent with tombo tuna!!" Oh well, it sure appeared that a full bar and restaurant serving tombo tuna will pay the rent easier than an empty dining room and a sparse crowd in the bar on a Friday night with the new menu. I encourage you to stay away until they go back to the real Bay 13.

Pros: the old menu

Cons: the new menu and the surly manager

.

Bay 13 used to be the best fresh fish and sushi restaurant downtown. The new menu is lack luster, over priced and the food pairings are terrible. We went to Bay 13 on Friday night and left after only ordering appetizers. The appetizers were terrible! The items from the raw menu were covered in various sauces to mask the true flavor of the fish, which led us to believe the fish was either old or of poor quality.

This place used to be so busy but the place was empty and I think that is a reflection of the menu changes. Word of advice: Go back to the menu that brought people in the door! You had a great thing going and now....well it is just BAD.

Pros: Location

Cons: Food, Ambience, Value.....very sad because these three things were highly recommended just 4 months ago!

Ate at Bay 13 on Saturday night. Everything was unreal. The food is so much better than it used to be. The new selections of Raw instead of Sushi are great. Would recomend to anybody.

So, I went to this "new hot spot" last weekend with a group. First of all, I didn't bring my reading glasses and the menu is written in such small and light font, I couldn't read it. A friend suggested eveything I ordered and it was cold, flavorless and expensive.
I wouldn't make a specail trip here again.
If I worked in the area, I may go after work for a drink with friends as it does have an upbeat atmoshere, but other than that.....No Way!!!
Good luck with the rent in the Pearl Bay 13.

I went to Bay13 after hearing that they have a new chef. I found out that he is from NY. We were pleasantly surprised at the changes that have occured on the menu. Ahi tuna seared with parsnip puree melted in my mouth. The presentation looked like something out of a big city and the food matched. The oysters are the freshest I have had while visiting from CA. I can see that the little bit of changes are going to be big for this beautiful restaurant. Now the food matches the decor.

Went on a Wednesday night with another couple. Service was outstanding. I feel they could expand the cocktail menu but really like how they serve complimentary glass, bottled water at the table. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and made good suggestions. Since a Wednesday night not too crowded but I could see it being noisy when full. We'll definitely go back.

It was busy on a First Thursday, so my Wife and I were lucky to have reservations. This restaurant was like a giant party. Everyone having a great time. My halibut was very tasty, and my Wifes seared Ahi was great. The food was presented very professionally. Even though some would think that the portions are small, I did not leave hungry. It is nice to finally have an establishment as dedicated to service and seafood as this place in Portland. We will be coming back to enjoy more on the menu. So.....in a nutshell; prompt seating with reservation, prompt wait service, and very tasty food. I am not a food critic, but the food seemed prepared in a french manner. The sauce was very creamy. Try it!!!!

I've given this place three shots to win me over, and after three shots Bay 13 is now off the list. Sure, the sushi is good, as is the seafood stew; the rest of the menu, however, does not set Bay 13 apart from any other seafood restaurant between Portland and Omaha. The real killer is the service - the staff have terrible attitudes and seem like they'd rather chat with each other than service their tables. Last visit: 15 minutes before we got water service, another 10 until we were able to order drinks (had to tap another server to hunt down the kid waiting on us), dishes were served as they were put out from the kitchen rather than together so we could all eat at the same time, the waiter rolled his eyes when my friend asked for a taste of a certain wine, and the manager completely blew us off when we complained about the poor service.

I honestly don't get why this place has such a high rating. Maybe people are enamored with the sophisticated urban decor, something which is certainly hard to come by in this town. But there are certainly better places for dinner in the Pearl and in Portland at large - hunt those places down and leave Bay 13 for the birds.

Pros: Like the open space

Cons: Everything else: mediocre food, exorbitant price, TERRIBLE service

Great bar, good food, especially sushi and oysters, and the best staff in the Pearl. I like the place as a hangout for people watching and light cruising. Light I say because although there is an abundance of attractive people (in from the burbs), most of em are clueless and loco. Yes this place has an outstanding cruising scene, but the pickins tend to be on the psychologically skewed side. Girls tend to be vapid beuties looking for mr goodbar, and the guys often are young MD's who come in in their scrubs. So, it is an easy place to dine, drink, and "take home" the leftovers, just beware, the treat you took home for a late night snack might spoil leaving you wishing you weren't such a pathetic loser. All in all, a fun place for the hunger in us all!!!

We eat out quite often in the Pearl District, and have eaten at Bay 13 several times in the last 6 months. It appears that the restaurant tried to "upgrade" with a new executive chef from NY, but it is apparent that the change has resulted in staff that are in a state of turmoil and unhappy, which shows up in the quality of food and service. Is this the kind of restaurant experience that put Portland in the national eye? We don't think so. We're done with Bay 13.

Went to Bay 13 for dinner over the weekend and was not blown away by anything. Arrived early enough as a walk-in to get seated outside around 6pm. Greeted promptly by our server. Had a negroni, which is my standard drink to judge any bar/bartender. Surprisingly, it was pretty well done. Had a sushi roll that was impressive. Shrimp tempura and crab with avocado and 4 sauces. The sauces were a little too much under the roll and tough to decipher a couple of them. Ordered salmon and braised lamb shank along with 2 sides, fingerling potatoes and cauliflower. The salmon dish was exceptional with corn and beans. Salmon cooked perfectly medium rare and went will with the sauce. Lamb shank was fall apart tender with good flavor. Didn't really go well with the white beans, which seemed a little under cooked, but the lamb itself was a success. The sides were very average. $5 for a small bowl of potatoes with brussel sprout leaves lackinig in flavor was a little much. The cauliflower au gratin was hot but lacked any flavor. Not enough seasoning and couldn't taste any cheese. Also had the chowda, which was pretty good, but a little over salted. This place is more for the hipster pearl be-seen scene than for a nice dining experience. Many better places to eat in Portland for the price.

I agree with you, noticed most of the staff more interested in hanging out with each other than serving the guests eating and drinking.

Went to Bay 13 for dinner over the weekend and was not blown away by anything. Arrived early enough as a walk-in to get seated outside around 6pm. Greeted promptly by our server. Pros: Outside seating

Cons: Everything else

Last night, I invited 6 friends over to Bay13 to celebrate the birthday of my friend R. He wanted to try the place out and I did not try to recommend another place, as I wanted to oblige him on his birthday. My previous below-average experiences at Bay13 should have taught me better...

The hostess was not able to sit us outside, despite many tables apparently empty. Given by the amount of loud table-reshuffling we observed during dinner, room management leaves plenty to be desired at Bay13.

We had to wait for the waiter numerous times and for seemingly long periods of time. The free "purified water" is a non-sense gizmo in a place without tablecloth. The drinks we ordered before dinner had seemingly no alcohol in them and we had to send them back despite the best attempts from the waiter to convince us that they were "good cocktails". He told us the specials twice. When I pointed out to him that he was repeating himself, he kept going on.

The food did not redeem the place either. Having 3 kitchens might "look" good, but a minimum of management competence is needed to ensure that all the food comes out at the same time. The "hot" entrees were all delivered within 5 minutes of each other for the 5 of us who ordered them. However, the sushi did not arrive until these entrees were pretty much finished. The spicy tuna roll did not have the "spicy sauce" that it had the previous week. Consistency clearly eludes the kitchens

The waiters and busboys are busy showing off their tight Tshirts and seem more interested in hanging out together than taking care of the customers. I observed serveral times the manager carrying hurriedly some plates of food to customers who were probably waiting for them, just as we were.

We clearly decided to go somewhere else for dessert. I regret taking my friends there and I would recommend those of us who work hard for their money and go out to enjoy first and foremost decent food with good service to stay clear of Bay13.

Pros: Location, maybe.

Cons: Disinterested service, watery drinks, food timing and consistency

Good service, good atmosphere, but it is all about the food. The sushi was average at best, seemed to be heavily filled with mayonnaise vs pure fish. The biggest disappointment of the night was the opakapaka. All of us have lived in Hawaii for years and have never seen a cut like this one. We actually had to use a knife to cut it and left what almost looked like gristle on the plate. Our waiter was apologetic and told us that we should have told him earlier so he could fix it. However, they did comp the desserts which was appreciated.

Pros: Good Service and Atmosphere

Cons: Worst Seafood I Have Had in Years

One of the best meals we've had. We had the crab appitizer , which had some sophisticated flavors. My wife loved the scallops, saying it was the best meal she's had. I had the Flat Iron Steak, which I loved. Each meal came with two sides, including a little greans, which is a welcome change. The atmosphere is great and the service was pretty good. A little spendy; an appetizer, two dinners, and 4 drinks came to $85, but it's worth it.

This was the best seafood I've ever had!! We had a table of 10 and passed around the meals and every one was sooooo fabulous!!! Whether it was the sushi, appetizers, or the wonderful sole and crab entree. Loved it.

I've been going to this restaurant for awhile now and it just keeps getting better. One of the friendliest restaurants in town in my opinion. Last time I visited they had just recieved some incredible oysters in from Canada. They were the freshest and tastiest I've had in some time and the server gave me quite a bit of great info on all the options. I paired this up with the Beet Salad and it was perfect. If you haven't tried the Beet Salad please do so. One of the healthiest and tastiest in Portland.

With so many options now in the pearl it can be a daunting task to figure out where you're going to dine. For me it comes down to friendly service, freshness of the seafood, and good healthy options on the menu. Bay 13 has done a great job here.

Cons: It was parking, but I think they now have valet

I really enjoyed my experience but that was because i enjoy the newer, trendier spots. The look is neat and unique, a very different restaurant to bar look than i had seen before. The service is really average, typical of newer places. The fish i had for my entree was fantastic and very attractive presentation which i really appreciated. Drinks were good as i recall and it was a nice experience. The tables are very close together and it can get loud but the younger crowds (21-45) should enjoy it!

A friend took me here for a dinner the other night and the space was beautiful. Great room -- very open and modern dining space. The sushi was excellent, but the food was subpar.

The wait staffed seemed either bored or uninterested to be working there. (And I've been there twice now). The caesar salad I had was tasted like the sour patch kids. And the seafood, while fresh, was over salted.

The crowd... well, let's just say that like the Pearl, it attracts individuals that just like the restaurant, try too hard. For two people with drinks, sushi, appetizer, dinner, and desert, my tab came to around ~$150. For that price point, I would have had selected a more initimate setting such as the Carlye.

Bottom line: fun space, average food, and go to be seen or ignored.

I do not recommend this spot unless maybe to dine on sushi or other bar fare. The serviced was not innattentive or rude, just sloppy and it did not seem our waitress was actually trained as such. Our bread came out after the appetizer and only minutes prior to the food. And, the appetizer clearly had enough goopiness for bread service. Though a pleasant young woman, our waitress' drink service acumen was below par - our food arrived while still mid glass our first wine order...that was about 15 minutes from seating to food hitting the table. I guess they needed the table or something. However, the food was so fast, we did not have time to even order a second cocktail or glass of wine till our entrees were almost complete. What happened to the pre-dinner cocktail??? We refused desert prior to viewing the menu but I caught a glimpse. Unimpressive and expected compared to other portland area dining sites. Oh...the food. Our Ahi Poke was over-marinated and the fish was hard to find on the palate beneath overpowering onion, soy and ginger. My boyfriend had the pork tenderloin. The server did not ask how he would like it cooked and it came medium well. My crab infused sole was watery. The heat lamps at the server's food pick-up station were not a good sign either..maybe that explains the pork. Atmosphere - chaotic.

Pros: water choices - still or bubbles - though she brought us still and we ordered bubbles

Cons: most of it

We went to Bay 13 on April's 1st Thursday Night. We went around 9pm and the place was pretty packed in the bar area. We wanted to sit for dinner so we asked how long of a wait and since there was just two of us the got us in right away. Their manager was helping host, but was very friendly. We brought a bottle of wine and our waitress knew a bit about wine and became very chatty with us. I have been to El Gaucho and Mortans and had great service, but she did even better then their servers. There menu was large and had way too many great options to choose from. We told her to select her favorite Entree for us to split, she had an excelent choice, it was Sole Infused with Crab Meat. We know how expensive crab is right now, and the cost of the Entree was only $17. I was very empressed. It was the best seafood dish I have ever had from any Portland Restaurant. For Dessert we had her choose her favorite again and she chose a Lite Chocolate Moose dessert, it was outstanding. We went home very, very happy with everything, and a bill that was much less than we would have imagined. Bay 13 has a great atmosphere and a great design to it. Definetely have to try this place out!

It's always a gamble trying new places, and this one did not pay off for us. The restaurant is nicely designed, with a modern but mellow decor and several eating spaces, a sushi bar, raw bar, and inddor and outdoor dining rooms. Our server was pleasant and helpful.

Even on a Thursday, the patronage was very Pearl. One one side of us was a group of well-preserved, middle aged women with puffy lips and the latest styles from the junior's department, and on the other side some painfully hip 30-somethings. Neither party seemed to be eating much.

We ordered multiple small items: nigiri, maki, ceviche, and crab cocktail. None was worthwhile, and while we weren't satisfied we chose not to test the rest of the menu given the luck to that point. With the nigiri the fish was overly soft and seemed less than fresh though edible. The rice was chalky, gluey, and too big for the portion of fish. Because they sent the wrong roll, (and brought the requested roll later, without charging us for the accidental roll) we sampled two maki, the rainbow roll, and king roll. Both rolls suffered from the lousy rice, wan fish, and too much mayonnaise. The king roll had a large tempura shrimp inside but the flavor of the frying oil was overwhelming. The ceviche was the best of the evening but was lacking the brightness of flavors I'd hoped for, The crab cocktail was bland and sweet, both from cocktail sauce and a mango puree. There was lots of real crab though.

Drinks were just OK-- nice selection but lacking in depth of flavor and alcohol.

It's a pretty place, but we won't be back anytime soon.

Bay 13 serves up a mix of causual elegance and contemporary cuisine in a spacious location. The seafood menu is welcome addition to the area. The feel is vibrant yet urban. A great spot to gather up friends for drinks and delicious food. I especially enjoyed the sushi selection! Definitely a must-see!

I'm not sure how the previous reveiws were so negative - but bear in mind, every new restaurant needs a little time to catch their stride. Having read the reviews, I was pleasantly suprised when my boyfriend and I had a very positive experience at Bay 13. You won't have to contend with a smoky bar or insane waits at this new spot on the Portland restaurant scene. The large, bright, airy space and expansive patio offer fresh, simply prepared seafood in a sleek environment. Best of all - for those who care where their food comes from - Bay 13 prides themselves on serving only seafood that is caught in a sustainable manner. Standouts: ceviche, oysters galore, and the seafood risotto. Service was friendly and prompt. As for the scene, perhaps it's a bit trendy on weekends or first thursdays, but I observed all 'types' on my Tuesday evening visit. Bay 13's only downside: exiting with a very full stomach only to see the gym staring you in the face.

Again, wow!
what a cool space! & finally somebody has livened up the seafood selections in town. for reasonable prices i can now take the parents to a seafood restaurant that doesn't cater to the early-bird crowd.

on more than a few nites after work i have sat at the bar & enjoyed amazing poke salad & some of the nicest bartenders in town!
overall, i found the service to be attentive without overbearing, the ambiance to be cozy & hip, and the food to be fantastic! if there are any doubts about the food, one should try the Grilled Salmon, the Halibut special, the Petrale Sole (w/dugeness crab) and the desserts....WOW!

Another failure.

They don't have anything unique , no personality what so ever.
We (Team_Splashi) went on Sunday March 11th for a dinner.
Had some NY Steak with poorly prepared side dishes.
Either ?they? ( cook/chef) are afraid to make food up to your order, or they are just not capable to make a rare stake.
It is Portland Oregon , for crying out loud (COL) don't be afraid that there is some customers who prefera "rare" steak, some people just like that way it's ?English way of eating steak?(not that we are a English , we are only saying that this eating experience was not what we were hoping for)
this ?bay13th? restaurant is not ready to accommodate for ?rare cocked? steak eaters.
Next time (if there is next time for Team_Splashi) we just might have a cpl of drinks.

Went to Bay 13 with my girlfriend a few weeks after it opened. Walked in and looked like it was very well done! Drinks were stiff and the servers were friendly. People were dressed like they were from NYC (which is out of character for Portland) but I dig it. Then came the food... BAD. For the price I was expecting well-cut high quality sashimi. The quality was decent but it was cut into these long thin rectangles I swear the salmon looked like carrot sticks. Only about 8 pieces total. Obviously the "sushi chefs" were not well-trained. But what can you expect, it's Port-town. Then came the "fish stew"... BAD. Looked like sewage. Just kidding, it looked fine but tasted very ordinary. Very reminiscent of Paragon... great atmosphere, but mediocre food. Come here to mingle and drink, but THAT'S IT!!

I'll start by saying there is nothing wrong with Bay 13. The setting is pretty, the servers are friendly, and the drinks are strong. Judging by the crowd of good looking people that are already gathering there, it'll probably become the next hot spot in the Pearl. It's just nothing special or unique. But, if you're a Paragon and/or Portland City Grill kinda guy/gal than you'll probably love it. I just think that there are many other Portland hot spots that set the bar just a bit higher.
