I love to have breakfast here, the coffee is great and the oatmeal is like nothing I've ever had. It has free wi-fi and a very comfortable atmosphere and everyone is not sitting right next to you - nice and spread out.

Where to start. First I would like to state that the staff at this particular location is Portland to the T. Very easy on eyes. And I mean easy. The food that the head chef Chuck prepares is the finest most tantalizing palette pleasers this side of the Willamette. Just merely pondering?? These plates of edible art that I can almost taste just thinking about them leave me in a euphoric state. Its true the prices are just a titch higher then you would presume given the explanation of the menu, but a simple inquiry left me with the valuable information that the Daily does everything it possibly can to use sustainable and organic food stuffs to fill our bellies with happiness and nourishment.

Beside the facts that sometimes the staff can be too smart for their own good or anybody else?s good for that matter this place can pretty much guarantee a very good meal for a very good price with very good music playing. And a playful staff too boot. Did I mention they were good looking?

I would also like to add you should all check out the coffee bar at the Tram because those kids have a dorktastic appreciation for a fine cup of coffee complimented by an improvisational skit. You thought you knew the dorkiest kids in Portland but you were WRONG. Did I mention that they were good looking? I think it?s a rule.

All in all I say gold stars.

Pros: Extremely convenient for staff in the building, some organic ingredients and highly talented kitchen staff.

Cons: When one of the staff members is having a quote bad day everybody knows it.

Working in the S. Waterfront area my options for lunch are limited. I had always heard great things about the other Daily Cafe locations so when they put one in the building I work in I was very excited to try their food. The fist day I walked in and looked at their menu, I was horribly disappointed. I am a very strict vegetarian and their vegetarian options are quite limited. I inquired about modifying a menu item to make it vegetarian and was flatly refused. So I looked at their Specials board I saw a Tofu Wrap that would suffice, but it was being advertised as a half wrap with a cup of soup for about $8. The soup options were blah so I asked if instead I could pay a little extra and have a whole wrap with no soup. Denied again. Unless I wanted to buy two specials. Essentially, the staff at the Daily Cafe near the tram are unkempt, snarky and exceptionally unprofessional. I understand that this is Portland, I am not offended by body piercings, tattoos or unnatural hair colors. But could you please, at least, take a shower and wipe those nasty looks off of your faces, Daily staff? You are in the customer service industry. Do your job. I've conferred with many of my co-workers and we've all come to the conclusion that you are fired. Please pack up and move. We hate you.
