The happy hour menu isn't super generous in it's portions but I could eat taquitos and drink margaritas all night at that spot. My only warning is that the green salsa is the hot one and the red salsa is the mild. Otherwise, it's your standard fare.

Okay but the Cha Cha Cha in Hawthrone is really good with resaonable prices, but not this one, the service was very slow, the portions very very tiny AND the prices were ridiculosly high!!!!. We were hoping to share the dinner, but the portion was a little bigger than my kids meal!!! LOL!!

***DONT BE A SUCKER !!!! AVOID THIS RESTURANT AT ANY COST!!!

great prices, great food, even better happy hour. how can you beat a chimichanga and a sangria for $6? I was going at least once/week this summer. love it!

I was so excited to see a Cha Cha Cha open in my neighborhood. I had been to other locations many times and loved the food. I finally had a chance to eat there and was very disappointed. For one, the menu is completely different than the other Cha Cha Cha's and they didn't have my favorite dish. Secondly, the prices are much higher. One thing I love about the other locations is that you can get great food at a great price. Well, not at the fremont location. I didn't even finish the meal I ordered and the music was so loud I couldn't hear my friend talk without him practically yelling. The one good thing was the friendly service. I won't be going back. Disappointing.

Wow, I can't believe all the random reviews on this location! I have been to all of the cha cha cha's in Portland and the Fremont location is by far the best. Actually it is the only one I will go to now. The food is amazing, inexpensive and the waitstaff always attentive and timely with our order. Love the addition of live music on the weekends as well.

Pros: great food, love their mole sauce, live music on weekends

Cons: none, seriously.

I was having a great day until I went to this place..... I wish there were negative ratings because this place earned about a negative 155 on my scale. Aside from bringing my drinks out nearly at the same time my food came out -- 30 minutes later -- the tables were dirty, as were the silver ware. I was served the wrong food and my drink had something gross FLOATING INSIDE OF IT resembling a piece of a nacho chip. I was so disgusted and irate I asked for the check to leave as quick as possible. To top things off I was charged double for drinks. I don't if it's a scam they run to get a few extra bucks out of people (since this has happened to me twice at this place), or if they just felt I should pay for the dirty drink glass I sent back.... either way I will NEVER return to this abomination of a restaurant.

Pros: Sometimes they might have good music playing.

Cons: Every part of the restaurant, from the service, to the food, to the price.

I was so excited when cha cha cha moved into my neighborhood. I have been back many times and it has become a joke between my wife and I about why we keep going back. I think the food is very good, and not unreasonably expensive. The joke is why we have to ask for water, silverware, chips and salsa, to have our order taken, to pay our bill. I think we should just go in the back and tell the cooks what we would like and get a beer and add up out ticket and put money in the till to circumvent the awful service. I am also in awe that every time I eat here they never ask me if I want another beer. This is the most profitable thing a restaurant sells and waiter/waitress never ask us! Needless to say I will go back and endure the horrific service because the food is resonabley priced and I can walk there. I think they just need to consider hiring a manager since they cant make much money selling $6 burritos and tacos without selling much beer? If you eat here plan on explaining your expectations and don't feel your being rude or else you will just wait a really long time since the servers seem to take a siesta during dinner.

Cons: Lackadasical Service

I've never been compelled to write a Citysearch review, but let's just say I am feeling inspired. I have been to a few other Cha Cha Cha locations in Portland and the Femont location is my favorite. I have never had less than great service and the food is always phenomenal. I love all of the mouthwatering options on the menu. Salmon burritos...bring 'em on! I really like that this location is trying something different. Maybe not the traditional fare but whatever it is has me coming back for more. Oh--and the margaritas are ridiculously good--maybe the best I've had in Portland. Yum.

I've been to 2 other Cha! Cha! Cha! locations in Portland & the food was decent, plentiful & reasonably priced. Based on those experiences, I chose the 47th & Fremont location of Cha! Cha! Cha! for a group outing.

It was a Friday night, but they weren't busy & the restaurant was only half full. It still took over 10 minutes before we saw anyone, but that was just a woman bringing chips & salsa - she wasn't our waitress. She didn't even seem to notice we were there, as if she were a salsa-delivering robot. She only asked about our order after someone wondered aloud if it was ever going to be taken. We waited another 5 minutes, then a man came & took the drink orders. The sodas were weak & the glasses were underfilled to the point of them only being a little over half full.

The "waiter" took our food order without writing it down, easy since this location only has about 6 entrees on their entire menu, all $9 or above. The strange thing is they don't have any of the basic Mexican foods you might expect at a Mexican restaurant. Bacon wrapped prawns, chicken tacos, salmon tortillas - none of it seemed to be actual Mexican food, instead some chef's reinterpreted dream of what Mexican food should be. Honestly, that isn't what we really wanted from Cha! Cha! Cha!, nor what we expected based on experiences at other locations.

We waited another 20 minutes for our food, which we weren't sure was ever coming. The "waiter" came over, silently putting down napkins, but didn't speak to us at all, like a napkin-delivering robot. When asked, point blank, "Could you give us an ETA on our food?", he left the table in a without saying a single word.

Basically, we got up & left at that point. The uncommunicative robots manning the decks of Cha! Cha! Cha! at 47th & Fremont made this was the single worst attempted dining experience any of us have ever had. We ended up going to Jack in the Box, where we only had to wait 3 minutes for our food & got great service.

Pros: Quiet and restive. Could take naps between waitstaff arrivals.

Cons: Service is lax to the extreme, waitstaff ignores you, tiny selection, un-Mexican food, expensive.

This is the best Cha Cha Cha location I've been to. The food is always really fresh, tasty, and creative. A little known secret is that they serve a delicious brunch menu on weekends from 10am-3pm with usually no wait to sit down (huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, etc). Our favorite burrito place in Portland and very affordable!

Mr Rose and I love great Mexican food. He grew up with Mexican grandparents in LA and I lived there for eight years - there are many great, authentic (please do not read 'greasy, dirty, crowded' into that last word) places to eat there and he has several times been brought close to tears by some fantastic food experiences.
This is not one of them.
It's okay. It's relatively inexpensive - cheaper than Baja Fresh, say. We've eaten here several times because it's close to our home and convenient, but each time are left feeling a bit 'huh.. is that it?'
Very run-of-the-mill burritos, the meat doesn't taste very sell seasoned or that it was prepared with much care. I do like the chicken tortilla soup, however.

Great service, while the food is above average for a mid-priced Mexican establishment. The best Mexican food has always been the hole in the wall type and cheap. Portland's best undiscovered spot is on Fremont past 82nd heading East, next to a liquor store. Anyway, we've been to Cha Cha Cha on Fremont four times and have always been pleased. Ala carte tacos and burritos are very good; black beans are excellent. The shrimp dinner plate was so-so.

I've been to many Cha Cha Chas around town and this spot on NE Fremont has not dissapointed. I've been there several times, sometimes with one other person or as many as 8. The food is always tasty, fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced. If there ever has been a problem with an order the kitchen/waitstaff happily and quickly does a great job to rememdy the issue.

Of course this is not high end dining, but for the price, location and quality of mexican food it is worth a visit.

I live in the neighborhood but have only been once since Cha, Cha, Cha opened nearly a year ago on Fremont. I decided to give it another try and was pleased enough that I'll go back for another try. The waiter was extremely nice and offered by friend a sample of the white and red Sangria when she couldn't make up her mind. Both of them were OUTSTANDING. They make it fresh and I would highly recommend either of them. The chips were also outstanding. The salsa was fine but didn't stand out. We ordered nachos for an appetizer because they were only $4. This was a very decent appetizer although a little untraditional with lots of sauted peppers and onions. Best to be eaten with a fork.

We had tortilla soup and a wild salmon dish. Both were good and priced right.

I tried this Mexican fast food and I must say it was quite good. The prices were very reasonable and the service was FAST FAST FAST! I personally thought it was loud but VERY MUCH worth the price. When in a hurry and on a tight buget this is the place. They also have great people working for them.

I definitely recommend Cha Cha Cha. The food is creative - try a smothered burrito (with stuffings that vary from salmon to raisins or the traditional steak or chile relleno) in red, green or mole sauce. And the appetizers are fantastic: their nachos are excellent. Prices are very reasonable, even cheap for such great food ($5-10 for entrees) and the drinks are creative and yummy. Most importantly, the waitresses there are very enthusiastic about their work and friendly. I look forward to every dinner at Cha!

What appears to be a fast growing Mexican chain is welcome in our Beaumont neighborhood. The tacos and burritos are imaginative and flavorable. And it's very inexpensive.

After four visits to the Fremont location, though, I have to gripe about the setting and the service.

The tables are arranged as mostly two-tops and close together so that it's hard to come as a larger group. The times we've been there, the music is too loud to permit conversation. And the chairs are these weird straight-back neon colored plastic things that are uncomfortable and visually off-putting.

Each time also, the service has been poor. One time, the poor women serving us told us that she'd been left alone to prepare the dishes and serve and she was about to quit. I don't know what the Cha! Cha! Cha! business model is, but it appears to be having quantities of meats, sauces and toppings prepared in advance and then leaving one or two staff to handle the kitchen and the front.
