The company motto of "Affordable solutions for better living," pretty much sums it up for me. You do not need to be filthy-rich to have a comfortable and beautiful place to call home.

I had heard a multitude of terrible things about the Portland Ikea ever since it opened a few years ago...it had kept me far away, until recently. A friend of mine is a newly, single mom escaping from a bad relationship and I told her we would help her get all set up in her new apartment. We had a $1,500 budget. At the end of the day, we had gotten everything she had been lacking and still had money left over. I did not think that would be humanly possible. Assembly was...interesting, but certainly well-worth it!

Yes, sometimes you will feel like cattle being moved along in the "one-way," winding layout...but it ends up being very efficient and be sure to check out the delicious dining upstairs.

What can I say about IKEA but I love it! Seriously, I cannot go in there without not buying something. I love that's it's affordable & trendy plus you get to build your own furniture. I feel so accomplished after putting together a bed or dresser!

If you you want good furniture for your home or apartment for a price that is simply unbeatable, IKEA is your place. Snatching the successful strategy of Wallmart, IKEA uses its massive business power to tweak every portion of the supply chain to mass produce, mass supply, and all so efficiently, that you are guaranteed to find what you want, from a selection that is enormous, for the most efficient rock bottom price that Earth can provide.

Of course, you know that Chinese Labor + A Scandinavian company means that IKEA isn't the best for our economy, but individually, you are saved signifigant money in the process of raising your standard of living, and living in a beautiful home.

When you get to IKEA, you will find what you need, happily, and enjoy some good food in the process, but the business model is so efficient, so fine tuned, that you won't be the only one to discovery it... Quite the contrary, you have to fight through the zoos of people in order to finish your visit.

Overall IKEA is great in so many ways its scary, and I can only hope our love for its success doesn't hurt America in the long run.
