I went to Les Schwab to change my wheels from an expensive sport wheel (I know now I should've sold them, but they were from my ex), to a regular wheel. I purchased generic hub caps at that time. They began to peel within a year. Later, my mechanic informed me that they had been duck taped on. I have never had a bad experience with Les Schwab and have always been impressed by their honest, almost chivalrous service. But I'll never go back to the Broadway store. For shame!

What happened to the free tire repair? We took our car to the Les Schwab on NE Broadway for a quick tire repair. They removed a screw from the tire and charged us $15. Service was quick and friendly, but it used to be free. Guess it's another casualty of the economy. \n

Pros: quick, cheap

I got a flat on October 1. After roadside assistance put the spare on, I drove to Les Schwab. They told me I needed four new tires. The funny thing was, I had just had my car at the dealership for the 5000 mile service, which is supposed to include tire inspection. So I called the dealership and talked to my rep who insisted that she had done that inspection herself and that my tires were fine. But the Les Schwab rep was insisting that I needed four new tires. I knew they would need to be replaced sooner than later, so I just went for it and spent $650 for good ones. But after reading other people's reviews about being manipulated into buying new tires when getting their snow tires switched off, I'm wondering whether I was taken too. Suffice to say I'm not going back there.

I had a very strange experience with Les Schwab Tires on NE Broadway in Portland. It happened a couple of years ago, but I want to put it on the record.\n\nI brought my car to Les Schwab to have my studded snow tires taken off and replaced with my regular tires. My regular tires were in my trunk when I drove in.\n\nI took a walk with my toddler while they were switching out the tires. When I returned, however, they told me that they had removed my snow tires but that they could not put on my regular tires because they were ""bald"" and that if they put my ""bald"" tires on, then there would be a ""liability issue"". \n\nWell, I was so angry because I knew that my tires were not ""bald"". I told them that I would sign something to release them of all liablility, if they would just put my old tires back on so that I could go home. They told me that they absolutely could not do that, but, guess what??? they offered to sell me 4 of their new tires!!! I knew it was totally a lie, trying to get me to buy 4 new tires! \n\nEventually, after going round and round about the whole liablility issue, I relented, and I asked them what brand of tires they sold. They did not sell the brand I wanted. I told them that I would have my husband drive his car down to Sears (because I knew Sears carried the brand I wanted) and buy 4 new tires, bring them to Les Schwab, and have them put the new tires on. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT PUT ON 4 NEW TIRES PURCHASED FROM SEARS BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE A ""LIABILITY ISSUE"". \n\nAt this point I just about had a break down. I told them to put my snow tires back on; the date to remove studded tires had already passed, so I drove down to Sears hoping against hope that I wouldn't be stopped and ticketed, which, fortunately, I wasn't. \n\nI bought 4 new Michelin tires at Sears. \n\nThen, the strangest coincidence happened the very next day!!! While dropping my daughter off at preschool, I overheard another mom describe precisely the EXACT incident which had happened to me -- guess where??? -- at Les Schwab!!! The exact same thing -- she brought her car in to have the snow tires switched and they refused to put on her old tires!! Sadly, she fell for the ploy and she bought 4 new tires from them!!!\n\n After I heard the other mom tell the same EXACT story, I filed a complaint with the Consumer Affairs in Salem. I doubt the complaint did any good, but at least I went on record with my story. \n\nI hope that telling my story here will prevent someone else from being taken. What a rip-off scheme !!! Shame on Les Schwab!!

Pros: They have tires.

Cons: Totally Untrustworthy!

Les Schwab has long been a benchmark in customer service and my latest trip there was no exception. I work in a customer service job and these guys and ladies put me to shame. I don't think it even took 30 minutes from the time I pulled in to getting 4 tires put on and I was back on the road. The prices are pretty good as well. I will always go to Les for tires and brakes.

My car was towed to this Les Schwab the day after Xmas, due to a flat tire. They fixed the tire within three hours, as promised, and free of charge! Couldn't have been easier.

I feel that my experience at the particular Les Schwab is comparable to the service at all of their establishments. Exceptional. \r\nI have had 2 flat tires in less than a month, and the closest tire place, both times was Les Schwab. Both times, I was extremely stressed out at the situation (needing to be somewhere etc.) and both times I was greeted the second I walked in the door, immediately taken care of and my car put in line to be worked on. \r\nThis particular time, I was there right when they opened. They started on my tire immediately and it was done in 20 minutes max. They handed me my keys and told me there would be no charge. \r\nNo charge. I know that is probably company policy...but in my financial situation, and stress of car repair in general.... that was probably the most amazing thing I have ever heard. \r\nFinally a business that is not only aiming at making a buck at their customers' misfortune. A real business, interested in helping customers in need, so that they will come back with their business again. \r\nI will definitely be buying tires from this company in the future. \r\nThank you!

Cons: smells like tires. haha.

I went to this Les Schwab after the one in the NW said the patched a flat but actually just filled the tire with air and sent me on my way. They recommended I get 4 new tires even though 2 of the 4 are brand new and have less than 5,000 miles on them. They also patched a tire that was torn on the sidewall which is actually illegal by law because it is so dangerous. I went to another tire place two days later and they said the patch had already fallen off. \r\n\r\nI am very particular about the brand of tires I buy and since Les Schwab didn't carry the brands I like, I bought new tires online and brought them in to be changed. They told me (in an extremely rude manner) that they would not put tires purchased somewhere else on my car due to liability issues. I thought that was ironic since they had no problem patching a tire that was dangerous to patch. \r\n\r\nI will be going to Tire Factory from now on.
