I wish I could give negative stars. I almost don't think 5,000 characters is enough to tell you about how awful this company is. I'll try not to drag this out though. First let me say that I called them from my office on my lunch break and I would advise against anyone doing that ever. From the minute I told Rob the customer service agent that my rental budget was 850.00 he wanted to brush me off. He said "We get over 1,600 rental leads per day but with your criteria you would be receiving about 1 lead per day. Now I can't say if it would be worth it for you to use the service to get one lead per day. I then said "Well maybe the thing is I'm not looking for apartments, I'm looking for a house if the leads are all apartments it probably wouldn't be worth it. He then said "well we can't control what comes in, surely you know that." He continued on to tell me about the leads they currently have and one was a house. I asked if I could ask some questions about it. He said very loudly "absolutely not" I ended the call by thanking him for his time but letting him know that I felt he had acted fairly rude. Also I know for a fact that even their online advertisements offer things like number of bedrooms, square footage, and garage/car space. Then it gets even worse. I decided to call back in and leave a complaint with management. I got the same guy and he refused to transfer me to someone else. He also stated that he is the manager and that I needed to leave my complaint with him. He then said that I was now being rude for not wishing to share my information with him and he said that since I didn't wish to share my information with him it must be a prank call. He then hung up on me as I requested again to speak with someone else. The worst part is directly after the call I received several calls on my business line where the person said nothing and then hung up. This is the line where we take customer calls. Seeing what I thought was a legitimate company behave so unprofessionally is very disappointing.

I went to the BBB website and rental-data.com has a B+ rating, 4 complains in the last 36 months (3 years) and only one unresolved. So it is far from a scam!! I think it is a much better site than graigslist with all the scams on that side nowadays, most of them don't have an address or telephone nr. Yes, you have to pay for their service, because they want to get paid for their work!

I tried Rental-Data a few months back, and it was the worse website for Rentals I have ever experienced.

No pictures, no email for the houses/units. Just the address of the home and a name. Nothing big, nothing worth paying for. Totally useless, because most of the rentals on their list, IS ADVERTISED ON CRAIGSLIST!

THANK YOU!!
Obviously I am not the only one who feels this way!

This was the biggest rip off. I'll tell you why.

I inquired recently because I always saw their ads. I said I'm looking for Section 8, 3b, possibly four. ONE location.
He sent me this huge long list of Section 8 homes. I was like WOW this is great!!
So I paid the fee so I could get the phone numbers etc. Well, guess what.. After I paid they sent me a link to their website. Where were all the houses he sent me a list of? So I emailed him, with the list of what he sent me, and asked for the addresses and phone number for them.

NOT ONE was in the area I requested. NONE, NADA, ZIP. And to top it off, only 3 of the houses were Section 8.

Talk about SCAM big time. I was so ANGRY! I wasted my hard earn money, (ok so it wasn't an arm and leg), but for a single mom who works two jobs, it was A LOT to me.
Then, like the post above, there were no pictures to look at, AND, I found that most of their houses WERE on craigslist or on the Property Managements website.

Now, I'm still looking for a home, but I will use craigslist or other websites. I feel like a fool for giving them my money, but I guess it was a lesson learned.

Pros: there are NO pros to paying $35/mo for FREE information

Cons: lousy website, lame listings, snarky customer service
