Classic McMenamins place. They do a great job keeping the atmosphere local. Food is good as usual. Staff is casual - which means friendly but maybe not super fast.

I eat half my meals here when I stay in LC. They have soups, burgers (try the Captain Neon) along with full dinners. Staff is knowledgeable and energetic. Although not a big fan of beer, I do always order pint as suggested by my server and have never been disappointed. On weekends in the summer there can be a wait as it wildly popular with both local residents and tourists.

Went here on 7/27/07 for our favorite House Special Cheese Steak Sandwich and was really disappointed.
It was a huge roll, tons of bread, and one paper thin piece of steak with a little cheese and some onions. It was horrible, it use to be this wornderful sandwich piled high with steak and cheese. The beer was the normal best. Place has been upgraded with nice booths, but place was empty because they are probably making up for the renovation by reducing portion sizes and raising beer prices. Will seek another favorite for Friday nights after long drive from Portland. Great beer but lousy food. It use to be great beer and great food.

Pros: Beer especially Terminator

Cons: Food is disapointing versus what it use to be

On Friday, four of us went to the Brewpub, and the food and service were excellent. The Lemon Grass salad was perfect, the lemon grass wrap was excellent and two raved about the crab and shrimp melt. The clam chowder was one of the best I have ever tasted.

It was so good, we decided to go back on Saturday.
On Saturday, everything was horrible and we ordered the same dishes. Must be a different cook on Saturday's. The clam chowder had no clams and tasted like wall paper paste. The crab and shrimp melt was tasteless and one person said, "they must have added tabasco". The lemon grass salad had about a cup of peanuts in it and was not as good as Friday.

This place has a system problem because the food is not consistent.
