With it being my first child and first year going to school Im pretty new all of this. But from coming to this state from another state that ranks in the top ten states in the education score, It's a bit different. I have not met many of the teachers at this school to be honest, but obviously I have met my sons teachers and well, they are very good at what they do. At least with the younger children anyway. Really interactive with the children on a personal level, which I find to be nice. But then again, shouldn't the people teaching our children be that way anyway? Especially at a young age?
I don't like that they make the Pre-K class's nap. My child has not napped for over two years. My child does better without one. And since they make the children nap in the afternoon (which i find ridiculous making them nap the hour before they leave) it has actually made it harder on my, the parent. My child seems to be restless and have a harder time sleeping at night. That I guess I can live with, its still taking some time getting on a different routine of things .
My major complaint with this school is the superintendent, he is arrogant, rude, sexist, and thinks just because he has children that are almost submissive toward him because of his authority that WE the parents should be also. Tried kicking my child out of school half way through the year because of a move we made. I found myself in his office, irate, and frustrated by the way he acted. I'm not one to let someone try to walk all over me, or my child, NOT OK WITH ME! I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I could change one thing about this school, it would be get him outta there and get someone new in there, along with a new secretary, they have a little girl in there that doesn't know what shes doing, she looks barely old enough to be out of high school, and acts like a twelve year old.
Give me either of their jobs and I would be running things a heck of a lot better!

Pros: child seems to enjoy going to school in general

Cons: The staff, the superintendent, etc....
