I think that Dr A is great-compassionate and caring. i have been seeing him for over 4yrs. His staff needs to improve however, they are rude and uncaring-most anyway. But, instead of compaining I let them know: i did and now they show me the respect that I demand-to my face anyway HA hA. Dr Anthony is very caring he often calls me back for my appointment himself and always has my back-literally! He stays up to date with my care and never comes into an appointment asking what going on-he knows and he is very frank about my care. The only Dr I know that I actually want to see!
Thanks Dr Anthony!!!!

The entire staff at Pain Management of Tulsa are dedicated and caring medical professionals. I have been in their medical practice for several years and I have never experienced the behaviors some of the reviewers are posting. Each phone call has been handled in a courteous manner. Dr. Anthony alwasys takes time to listen to concerns and review the patients understanding of the treatment he provides.

I have been to a few pain management facilities in my walk with chronic pain and have NEVER experienced the level of sheer incompetence or just a sheer lack of caring as I have with the office staff at Tulsa pain Management. They don't return calls, they lie or misrepresent wheither a doctor is in or available and act as if they are in charge of your treatment. ANY Dr. who relies on their office staff to sift through patients and make judgement wheither or not they are a drug seeker is a ground for malpractice in itself. office staff is in NO WAY qualified to make that judgement. As for a patien getting angry, what choice do they have after being given the run-around repeatedly? As you should be aware, uwe who are in constant pain 24/7 365 have a higher stress level than most and when you percieve that someone is putting your wellbeing at risk it does and should make you angry. If the Dr.'s at Tulsa Pain would take more of an active role and actually communicate with their patients and spend more than 7 minutes with them they would not have as many bad reviews as they do. I wouldn't recomend anyone go there. my case is WELL documented and I have been treated with complete disdain and it is the first time in my life I have had to endure a power trip by ofice personell

I stumbled across this website quite by accident. I read the reviews. Now I would like to make some points. I worked as an Office Manager for two psychiatrists. They also prescibe narcotics. The staff hears a lot of "I've lost my script; someone stole my purse and my meds were in it; someone broke into my home and stole my meds; I accidently flushed them down the toilet"; you get the picture. Hence, this is one reason the staff might seem distant. Not to mention the abuse the staff receives from a patient "out of meds & needing them."

Now when this happens frequently to the same patient you have to wonder. Are they taking more than the prescribed dosage, are they sharing meds, are they selling on the street.?

Narcotics can be very dangerous and addictive.

The doctor is looking out for your health & safety.

If the doctor cuts you off your meds or dismisses you as a patient, there is usually a valid reason. Insurance would not be a reason to cut you off your meds. Even if the insurance terminates or maximum benefits have been met. The doctor will still prescribe, you just have to pay out of pocket.

The doctor may have a suspicion that the patient may be seeing more than one doctor for the prescribed medication. There is a website called "Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics that many doctors subscribe to and they can look up a patient name, date of birth and any other information needed. This gives them a list of the narcotics that is being prescribed, the pharmacy's and the doctors prescribing. If a doctor has a suspicion that a patient is abusing their meds, they just check the website and if you are doctor hopping & pharmacy hopping the doctor may dismiss you as a patient or stop prescribing since you are getting meds elsewhere.

Of course, if you speak with your doctor, admit that you have a problem, advise you are willing to seek psychiatirc treatment for your addiction, then the doctor may agree to keep you as a patient.

Remember the doctor is looking out for your safety & health.

Cons: None

This is the WORST clinic in Tulsa. The staff is rude, uncaring. The other reviewers are right! You WILL get jerked off your meds for no reason at all, as did I. The nurses ARE rude and they treat people like they are bugs that need to be squashed. I feel sorry for anyone who goes to this clinic. I will be writing a HUGE complaint to the oklahoma Drs medical board.

those of you that have such negative things to say on here about your treatment at the pain clinic are wasting your time. those who are being negative and not trying to resolve your issues in a professional manner are probably going to encounter these same problems in every clinic that you walk into. the staff at the pain management clinic have a very stressful job as it is and if you resort to anger or negativity it is only going to cause a red flag on your file and make it that much harder for the doctors to treat you. there are so many people who manipulate doctors today to get narcotic drugs that they have to rely partly on their staff to help them pick out the abusive users. i was severely burned 15 years ago while in the military and have been dealing with several different doctors and their offices ever since and i am yet to come across a doctor/doctors office that is not ready and willing to help me have a better quality of life. as far as pain mnagement providers. they have to walk a very thin line just keep their license and stay out of jail. if they just gave drugs to every patient that asked for them or through a fit when they didn't get them they would be drug dealers and not pain manangement doctors. i have been a patient at this office for 2 years and am very pleased. i myself had a slight communication problem with my doctors staff and was able to resolve it by simply explaning the problem at my next appointment. i have witnessed many patients yelling and screaming and making a huge issue out of something not so major numerous times in the past 15 years and it has never got them anywhere. that is not the only pain management clinic in tulsa if you are not happy with them simply go somewhere else, but i am sure they all operate along the same guidelines, they do not just pick on a patient to make their life miserable. again they have to be very strict because of dope seekers and it makes it that much harder for those of us who need our doctors to treat us without having to worry about us getting them in trouble for treating our pain and giving us the quality of life that we deserve. my advice to those of you who have a problem is to go somewhere else. i personaly go to Dr. Morris who is very sincere and good at what he does, but my PCP goes to Dr. Anthony and has nothing but great things to say about his treatment. i came across these reviews today while looking for the phone number and was amazed at some of the ridiculous things that some of you had to say. it makes me wonder about your integrity and honesty.

Cons: to dang far from my house, but worth it.

My family owes Dr. Anthony a great debt for improving the quality of life for my husband. He didn't give up on us when other doctors in his field told us to live with the pain. He helped us obtain more treatment and ultimately has always been open to discussion about management of his pain. I am a legal professional and I highly recommend Dr. Anthony and his clinic. He is beyond competent in his field and truly cares. We have had over 20 procedures in his office with no bad results or complications. The nature of medicine will require that there will be a few bad outcomes. However, I am confident that Dr. Anthony minimizes those statistics and overcomes many bad outcomes by his superior competence. I highly recommend Dr. Anthony.

I have been going to doc Anthony and he is great I went to the ER and the ER doc was hateful and mean, so I left and called his office this was on a sunday he called me back not someone else I didn't know he was very comppasionate and carring. The only thing I don't like is that I feel when I call to tell his staff something like my med is making me puck that i'm not so sure it gets to him, I had an appmnt a few weeks back but i dnt get to see doc i seen I think her name was Shila I'm horrable with names she is vry sweet but i don't think she listen to me as well as I would like I was told to take less norco and more ibprophen so i did and i then started pucking up bld i went to my pcp and she did tons of test on me and said i was taking to much Ib I didn't relize i signed a contract and well the rest is left up to him but he is a very wounderful doc. And i too had to pay to get my meds filled but they let me go for awhile I think its fair if you go to your pcp if you don't pay you don't see!!! anyhow thats how mine is. I'm sure his staff has better things to do then get on here and write a review they prob don't even know this is here! I stumbled up on it looking for his address!

Dr. Anthony is an excellent, thorough and caring doctor. Unfortunately Dr.'s offices are really run by the staff and not the Dr. How do I know thi? I have been a pharmaceutical rep for many years in this area and I am a patient of Dr. Anthony's. I came to him because of his excellent reputation in the medical community. Unfortunately he has done a terrible job with his staff and given them entirely too much autonomy. When people know they have power over you and an ego (actually inferiority complex) MARTHA, not to name names, is the big decision maker. I have zero issues with the staff or the Dr. because I have a previous relationship as a rep but I have seen what happens behind closed doors and it is almost as if Martha/Monica and company (This does not include Dr. Anthony) enjoy being hostile towards the patients and this is very unfortunate and was not the way his office ran before becoming so large. He has done a poor job in delegating so much power to a person that is a true narcisist.

i am looking for others who have had very very bad treatment from this company and the doctors working under this medical association. i have been under their care for over 10 years and was completely taken off meds without reason other than i do not have insurance, which is the only reason i can figure out. i may be confined to a wheelchair due to thier treatment to me and the heartlessness of their nurses made me decide to fight this, i need as many people who have had bad experencies with PAIN MANAGEMENT OF TULSA. please contact me so that i can stop these people from doing anything else to others who are in my condition.. to say the least, i am scared and was just going end the pain myself but decided that it would be better to stop this from happening to someone else... so i am, you can notify me thur this sight by leaving your name and email address, i need as many people as i can get.. thanks for you time.. oh, DON'T GO HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BECOME LEGALLY ADDICTED AND THEN BE REMOVED AS A PATENT IN 1 DAY AND DEAL WITH IT ON YOUR OWN WITH NO HELP AT ALL, EVEN AFTER 10 YEARS OF BEING ON THE STRONGEST MEDS THEY PRESCIBE. THE DOCTOR WON'T EVEN CALL TO LET YOU KNOW IT IS HIM TAKING YOU OFF THE MEDICATION., I BELIEVE WITHOUT QUESTION THAT IT WAS THE NURSE.. AND THAT THE DOCTORS MAY NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED BUT THEY WORK UNDER THEM AND THE DOCTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THEY DO AND SAY TO THE PATIENTS.. one of these docotors left the orginal association and either started this one or was able to join the group when his treatment for a well know coach came into question when he was drunk and caused a very bad accident.. it was almost immediately when the doctor left the old group and went with the other. CHECK OUT ALL DOCTORS BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR LIFE IN THIER HANDS.. I WILL FROM NOW ON... if i can make it thur this, i can't live in the pain i will have to go thur... it can take up to 3 years to detox on dermeral if you have medical issues.

Pros: until now, was treated well, don't know why they did this to me

Cons: try and find another way from taking this route, i wish i had

I would not hesitate to say that Dr. Anthony and staff have done everything in their power to improve the quality of my husband's life after 2 back surgeries and complications. He listens to what is going on with my husband, is concerned about its effect on his overall health and on the family, and works with us to try every possible way to reduce the pain without resorting to stronger and stronger medications. I would and have recommend him to others and am so thankful he is there for us.

I became interested in leaving a review as I had found a printed review from HOTSHOE,in Dr. Morris' office. The review was listed on 6/6/2008 and it wasnt a nice one.I was surprised to find it printed in the office but it was.I'm my 40's with severe joint damage from Systemic Lupus.I have also had 2 massive strokes.I suffer from kidney disease.I'm glad to have medication that allows me to sleep,to get away from the pain when it is at its worst.I know,I would die quickly if I wasn't allowed to take these painkillers. My pain is severe. Before I became sick,I hardly took medication as I hated taking pills, even birth control.I'm educated as is my husband who is a pharmacist.

Doctors are here to help those with severe pain, find relief. I have a better quality of life because Dr. Morris is kind and gentle. He doesn't hand out medication to "junkies". He doesn't make "junkies",anymore than McDonalds makes "fat" people. He uses other medications to help my pain that are not narcotics.I do take narcotics.I have to be responsible about the level of medication I take, and the realization that I must learn to deal with my pain.No medication will relieve cronic pain 100%.Narcotics help with quality of life.

Like any other service,I must pay my bills. A seperate issue that "hotshoe" blends in.The pay bills get a script,by Hotshoe is an unfair description considering that McDonalds analogy will do the same.Pay your money, get a big mac,pay your money get a big mac.If I want to eat,I have to pay.If I want to be serviced by a doctor I must pay.Doctors and nurses need to eat too. Most doctors are not rich, a common misconception by many people.

"Junkies" are created by a few patients and a few doctors who do not understand the benefit/ negative ratio of narcotics over the long haul.

This is a good doctors office. They are people too, who sometimes get annoyed at the foolishness of patients they serve. Ive dealth with bad doctors, this office is awesome. Thanks Dr. Morris!

OR DOES IT SOUND LIKE THE LOVELY SUPPORT STAFF HAVE WRITTEN THE MAJORITY OF THE "GLOWING" REVIEWS POSTED CONSECUTIVELY ON THIS SITE? IF ONLY THE STAFF COULD BE AS COMPLIMENTARY WITH REGARD TO THEIR PATIENTS, FABRICATED REVIEWS MAY NOT BE NECESSARY TO OFFSET THE NEGATIVE. With regard to the "junkies" comment, Pain Management of Tulsa, all doctors included, have CREATED their fair share of junkies and these are the people that keep them in business. Every staff member that I myself have encounterd has a primary job goal or purpose: TO WRITE, FILL, REFILL, MAIL, FAX, OR CALL IN NARCOTICS IN LARGE QUANTITIES! And if thier job is not related to this, thier sole purpose is to bill each patient or thier insurance companies, or to set routine appointments to keep thier patients coming back for more. These are NARCOTICS, some of which do provide pain relief in a short, safe, and effective way for acute pain. But the majority of the money-making patients are chronic pain sufferers, most of whom eventually come to the realization that the original medical issue that brought them through the door (often at the referral of some well-intentioned, random PCP) becomes back seat to the ever-so common, but not so-tolerated, "tolerence," that is built up over time for ANY PATIENT who decides to remain in a pain management plan for any significant length of time, whether here or otherwise. Pay money, get a script, pay money get a script, pay money, get a script, but this time, get a script with an attitude, because patient a or b has suddenly developed an unacceptable, BUT INEVITABLE tolerance to their prescribed narcotic, many of which are in fact stronger than, and harder to rid the body of, than street herion. At this point it becomes a subjective call upon the physician, trickling down through the staff, as to whether or not this individual patient needs a dosage increase or, the fact that they realize that they have created the so-called "junkie" that they so despise.

Pros: The girl who takes your money is nice.

Cons: The other girls. Learn quickly that these people are the only ones who have seen ur chart. Oh and they have pill power. What's that? Call to interrupt their day and u will find out.

Hotshoe, you really don't know what you're talking about when you say these reviews have been written by the staff. I am a real live patient with real problems that you know nothing about. So are the other people who have left messages. It is small minded of you to belittle our comments by assuming that because we like and appreciate Dr. Anthony, that we must be fake. I am appalled by people like you. There have been major advances in pain management that I, for one, am incredibly grateful for. They have allowed my mother to function and be a whole person again. She is not addicted to the medication, in fact she actually decreases the dose everytime she can. Some people have very addictive tendencies and those people have my sympathy. It is not entirely the doctor's fault though. You have to know yourself well enough to know when to stop and when to ask for help.

Pros: Location, Parking, Wait Time, Clinic

Cons: Sometimes the staff can seem a little uncaring.

Dr. Scott Anthony has been my pain management physician for over 8 years. I am also a registered nurse. I have found Dr. Anthony and his staff to be caring and compassionate with all my concerns. He always gives me all the time I need to explain any problems I might be having. He has done multiple procedures for me and has always been very attentive and a patient advocate. His staff are very efficient in scheduling appointments, processing refill requests and billing of my insurance company. I would recommend Dr. Anthony to anyone who truly needs pain management, but if you are just wanting a doctor to rubber-stamp a prescription for stong narcotics without any regard for your welfare then I would suggest that you find someone else. Dr. Anthony has no problem giving you what you really need but does NOT tolerate people who abuse their prescriptions.

All I know is my experience, I recently had back surgery and was in the hospital for 6 days. This is my third surgery after being destroyed by Dr. Anagnost. I was very scared and nervous to go through it again, but the pain is so herrendous I had no other choice. I couldnt live this way anymore. Dr. Covington was the surgeon of my third surgery and he was also wonderful!! Dr. Anthony was by my side every time i woke up or turned around he was there making sure I was ok, I even cried to him several times and he was nothing but an absolute gentlemen and comforting and professional!! I went through the worst experiences before, with the prior doctor and I am absolutely thankful to have found Dr. Covington and Dr. Anthony. I just cant say enough good things about both of them. I remember the morning of the surgery I was in tears almost left the hospital I was scared to death the same thing was going to happen again and although I researched Dr. Covington and Dr. Anthony and found nothing but good about both of them. Still I was scared to death, anyway if someone else is going through the same hell I have went through. Rest assured you are in excellent hands. I honestly feel as though I owe them my life for the miracles they were able to perform on me although not all the pain is gone, I can sleep sometimes almost all night and havent been able to do that since before i met the butcher Anagnost.

Pros: He actual cares!! Polite, considerate, and made sure I was completely comfortable definitely knows what hes doing with the medicine.

Cons: I am so nit picky and have not one single complaint or even gripe about this man. He truly is wonderful and really cares for your well being.

I agree that Tulsa girl may be an ex employee and if not, she's certainly trying to discredit a very professional re: Dr. Anthony. How do I know? My daughter works with him nearly every day and she believes he is one of the most caring and thorough doctors she's ever met... My daughter is a registered nurse and would not approve of any doctor that treated his patients, staff, etc. without respect and compassion... I would highly recommend Dr. Anthony and think Tulsa girl is only pursuing a grudge for some reason and it's sad she has chosen to attack a Dr. who is way above most others re: credibility.

I used to work for Dr. Anthony, he is wonderful and has a great bedside manner. As far as him having tantrums like a two year old.. well, he does get upset VERY UPSET when patients missuse their medications. Who could blame him, he is there to help people and when they don't want to do what he recommends whats a man to do? If I ever need a pain management doctor I wouldn't think twice about who I would call! DR ANTHONY!!!

I was appauled by the previous posting by Tulsagirl, Dr. Scott Anthony is a great doctor who really cares about his patients who are in chronic pain. My husband has been a patient of his for 8 years and he always has time for us and answer any and all questions. I would recommend anyone to him. So, maybe Dr. Anthony is better off without a patient who thinks they way that she does about him.

Cons: You may have a wait time, but he is well worth the wait

The last post is more funny to me than anything. Maybe this person got hooked on the meds? Maybe they were misusing them? Thats the ONLY reason a doctor would cut off someone else's meds. And to think its the nurse? really? are you serious? If this person were cut off, its probably because they are getting them from another doctor! (you know its REALLY easy to find out!) So he knew that this person would be fine! and 9 times out of 10 they give you a supply to get you thru until you find another doctor. So good luck with ruining his image! I dont think it will work!

The Doctor is rude to his staff, his patients, and has temper tantrums of a two year old.
If you want a Dr with good bedside manners go to another doctor . This Doctor is very skilled at verbal abuse .
