As the owner I would like to address these reviews.
As for the guy that got so upset over a meme on Facebook, sorry you got so offended but remember its Facebook. We love all people here at Thomas Outdoors Watersports.
The boat reservation issue, yes we absolutely made a mistake, it's a human thing. We did try to make it right but we also realize that we just can't make everyone happy every time. Again, human thing.
"Overpriced!" Well we are not the cheapest, not the most expensive either. We are however very proud of the services we offer and pride in which we offer them.
Unhappy 7 jet skis, we no longer rent jet skis, we just offer tours so that we do not have to worry about people crashing into each other constantly. Like that day.
And finally the couple that wanted the 1 hour rental. We booked a tour for 2 on one ski and there was a misunderstanding on one end or the other and they got angry and so did I. No excuses. But not as one sided as the story sounds.
BTW, I just found this website today 3/2/16. Trip Advisor gives a little better sense of who Thomas Outdoors Watersports is. We are not perfect of course But we are proud of who we are and how we conduct our business. There's always 2 sides.

Worst experience ever! Messed up our reservation. Quoted one price on the phone but when we arrived the price was almost double. When I dared question the owner he said he wouldn't rent to people "like"me. He was rude and totally unprofessional. Don't waste you vacation money on this business.

We took a tour with these folks a few summers ago so I "liked" their facebook page. A couple of days ago the owner posted an anti-Christian photo to which I commented. Today, he replied to my comment AFTER unfriending me. I called the business to calmly and politely discuss this. I asked for the owner and he said that he was the owner and who ran their facebook page. Needless to say, I was very surprised that a business would post something like this on their page. He said something rather quickly and then said "have a nice day" and hung up. He also messaged me back and then blocked me from responding. The folks at this place were very nice the day we went. I guess that is why I am so surprised that this fellow would act this way. If you are a Christian and you go to this busniess, just understand that he mocked Chrisitianty and I have a screen shot and his own words to prove it. Email me and I will be glad to send it to you. There are plenty of other busniesses in Myrtle Beach who would welcome Christians. My family has 2 houses there and we are down there about 6-7 times a year. For this business owner to blantantly advertise this and then mockingly comment in reply just tells me that we should not be spending money there.

We rented 7 jet skis here for my family and all was fine except for one employee Robert who acted like a marine drill sgt the whole trip, yelling, blowing his whistle and telling us to spread out even when trying to talk to other members of our group. We were told we had to maintain 100 yds btwn us at all times and even put 3 of us In time out. I'm a police officer and I always treat those I've arrested w more respect. I had my grandchildren there and wanted to talk and ride w them. It was the biggest waiste of $ I've ever spent. After it was over we asked to speak to the owner but were told he couldn't be contacted.

1HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!
My boyfriend and I have been planning our trip to the beach for weeks and we called all around to get a quote on jet ski rentals, something we've always wanted to try. We decided on Thomas Outdoor Water Sports after confirming twice that they were a reasonable price - $80 with a $10 off coupon for 2 riders on one ski for an hour. We showed up at our reservation time of 10:30am to be told that they didn't offer a one hour tour at that time and that the tour that was starting was a 2 hour dolphin tour that was way out of our price range. After coming to the conclusion that we were told the wrong time by one of the employees there (he was present and admitted the mistake), we were offered a "significant discount" if we returned at 1pm for the one hour tour. We agreed. After returning at 1pm for our tour and signing the wavers, we went to pay and turn in our paperwork. We were told that it would be $75, which we thought was odd since he mentioned a "significant discount," not $5 off. When I asked him about it and told him that we were quoted $80 originally, he told us that the tours are usually $95 and that we must have called somewhere else because there was no way we were told that. He had also told us that we must have called somewhere else when we told him that we were scheduled for a 10:30am hour tour, even though our name was written down in the schedule. We assured him that it was definitely this place that we called (we had the time and cost written down on the $10 off coupon with THEIR name on it) and that $75 was fine, but he should know that the guy we spoke with was quoting the wrong price. Our cash was extended the whole time because we didn't mind paying that price, which we told him several times, but we wanted him to know we were definitely told $80 originally. He pretty much called us liars and said to check the prices at the front of the store and that we would have never been told that. Then, all of a sudden, he told us that we were done, that we could go somewhere else, and shooed us out the door!! We asked for the contract back so he wouldn't be able to hold us to anything and he tore it up in front of us and said "bye." We were really confused and his behavior was completely out of nowhere, so we walked slowly out the door. As we were leaving he shouted "you did this to yourself!" It all happened so fast that we didn't really have time to react. We only got to say that it was his employee, not us, who made the mistake. From reading similar reviews on the web, it's apparent that this guy has some serious anger issues to work through. Unfortunately, after looking forward to this experience for over a week, we have yet to go jet skiing. We love Myrtle Beach and always enjoy our time there. After a week's vacation, choosing Thomas Outdoors Water Sports is our only regret. There are so many other companies to choose from with better prices and MUCH friendlier service! Don't make the same mistake we did.
