I recently had my Ford Truck repaired at the ??Bill Hood Ford Collision Center.? I have to say that the work that was done by the shop technicians was satisfactory. However, when I was called at 11:30 Friday morning I was told the airbag light problem was being checked and the truck would be ready for me before 4:00 PM. I turned in the rental car and was dropped off at Bill Hood Ford at 3:30 Friday evening, only to be told the problem had not been checked and it would take at least two hour or more just to check for the short in the system to see if it was accident related and would cost twice as much or more that the price stated at the time I agreed to let Bill Hood Collision Center do the work. Also the management had the old latch cover used from the damaged tailgate and did not paint it. I was told that State Farm would not cover it. But this was not disclosed at the time of the estimate. Then I was given a long speech about insurances cost and insurance premiums. Another thing is the person in the office had my home and cell phone numbers and could have called me at anytime to me know the truck was not ready long before my son drove us to Hammond and before I turned in the rental car but he did not and he had no explanation. To me his lack of explanation showed he deliberately did not communicate with me. The insurance paying for the job was State Farm and it seemed that the people in the office at Bill Hood Collision Center did not care about the customer, but they were much more interested in having me turn in the rental before the weekend to please State Farm. They seem to care about cutting the cost to the insurance company at the customer??s expense much more than about doing the right thing and much more than calling to let me know the truck was not ready. And it seems they really didn??t care about doing all the work they promised to do at the price stated in the original estimate. Again the work that was done by the technicians seemed okay but I would not recommend using the Bill Hood Collision Center because their management??s major loyalty seems to be with the insurance companies at the expense of the customer. It seems they have a low interest in doing right the first time and a deliberate lack of interest in communicating with the customer when they know there is a problem.
