I LOVE Mimi's! The tapas are great, and the open air, yet dark atmosphere is awesome! Nestled in the residential Marigny, it is one of my favorite spots in New Orleans!

This place is the best kept secret in New Orleans! It was suggested by a local waiter in another restaurant to go there and try the food. It is totally out of the way of any main tourist area, so be prepared to take a cab. Looks can be deceiving - we initially thought we might be in the wrong place because it looks like a typical neighborhood bar...and it is. However, the chef there prepares some of the best damn food we have ever eaten!! There is a "Trust Me" dish on the menu and it is whatever the chef feels like preparing. The night we went, we got an experimental vegetable dish that was so good I can't even describe it. The patatas bravas were the best I have had. We got lamb medallions that had me chewing on the bone. If we had know how good this place is at the beginning of our trip, we probably would have gone back until we had tried every plate on the menu. Amazing!!!
