The people are amazing and made me feel more than confident in my purchase. I had to call as I live in a different city as my fianc, and they looked up the ring she liked, put it to the side for me so I could drive the 3 hours to purchase it the next day, and shipped it to me... All with no hassle. The owner Lyle and associate Amy were very complimentary on the stone I brought in to be set... EVEN THOUGH IT WASNT SOMETHING I PURCHASED FROM THEM! World class customer service and exactly the place from where we will purchase wedding bands as well as fulfill all future fine jewelry wants!

Thank you for being an amazing business with class and standards! These negative comments on here are out of line! I recommend this place to everyone in the market for fine jewelry!

BUYER BEWARE!
HORRIBLE service and HORRIBLE owner!

My husband and I purchased a wedding band from the owner Lyle Fields of Marquirette s Exquisite Jewelry. One of the diamonds fell out of the eternity wedding band within two weeks of our wedding.

Owner Lyle Fields said they would replace the diamond. We shipped the ring back and I sent a confirmation email to Owner Lyle Fields on Thursday to let him know that the FedEX place said that it would be to Marquirette s by the following Monday. In this same April 18 email, I asked Lyle, as a friendly reminder, if he would, himself, check each of the prongs to make sure that no other diamonds were going to fall out of any of the other prongs. He replied by email at 11:28am the same day Of course .

Fifteen days later, we receive the wedding band via FEDEX. Inside the box was the ring and a bill for the shipping costs. The bill for the shipping costs is a story for another day, totally unprofessional and of poor business taste, but that s besides our point here.

We receive the wedding band and it was destroyed. The ring was bent and the replaced diamond was visible to the naked eye and had black spots in the replacement diamond, and the two closest diamonds. We immediately called Marquirette s and explained the situation in detail and left a message for Lyle to call us, and of course, we never received a return call.

We finally get in touch with Lyle and he has us mail it back and says he will make sure that the ring gets fixed and that he will get it back to us in a couple days. We ship him the ring again and several weeks go by with no word from Lyle.

I call Lyle on at work and they finally allow me through to him and I ask him very politely, Hi Lyle, my name is ________and I m not sure if you remember me, but I live in Virginia and I shipped my ring back to you to be fixed and I am just calling to see the status of my ring. We haven t heard anything, and I just want to make sure that you received it and wanted to check to see how it s coming.

He replies, in a clearly frustrated and irritated tone, Yeah Yeah, I remember you, I ll have to check on it and call you back and he hangs up the phone.
He doesn t call me back.

I send Lyle an email asking for our money back:
We would like our money back for the wedding band that we purchased from Marquirette s. We paid $800.00 plus 10% sales tax, with a $880.00 total. I have tried to contact you several times regarding my ring and to no avail. Please contact me as soon as possible to figure out our next step in this process. I would really like to keep this out of court and I would really appreciate if you would contact me soon.

No response.

I call his cell number Friday afternoon he surprisingly picks up:
I said, hey Lyle, It s ________and I m not sure if you have been getting my messages, but it s May 24th and you guys have had my ring for several weeks now and we haven t heard anything about it and haven t been able to get in touch with you at all. We have no idea what s going on.

He replies yeah, yeah... I don t need a lecture from you! The ring is sitting on my desk right now and I ll look at it tomorrow and see what it needs.
I tell him that we have waited long enough and that we would just like our money back for the ring at this point. I say, We would really just like you to send us a check at this point. And he says, FINE! I ll send you a check! I say thank you and he hangs up.

Twelve days later:
After several days of attempts of trying to get in touch with Lyle and leaving messages at his place of business and cell number, I write a text to Lyle Fields that read,

Please send us a check for the amount owed. Filing a complaint at the end of the week if we have no check from you.

After filing a Better Business Bureau Complaint, we finally received our money back from Lyle and Marquirette's.

I have been a customer of Marquirette's for over 5 years. I have had good service and have bought jewelry that was in the store and custom pieces. I have done extensive research about jewelry production, casting, and custom design. I do this in order to convey my exact expectations to the store. I do not go in with an unrealistic view of how "they make it". Everyone needs to do their homework, no matter what jewelry store that you patron. It is impossible to truly "cast" a piece of jewelry without proper machinery. So do they "make" it in the store, no. They do; however, partner with the designers for such companies as Tiffany's stores to be able to produce an actual custom piece of jewelry. The process is explained in detail, if you take the time to listen and learn. I had a wonderful experience because I was able to bring a drawing in - just a quick sketch, mind you - of what I wanted to be done with my engagement ring. I then received a 3D picture of what it would look like, which is hard to imagine, but gives you a very good idea if it is in the visinity of what you want. I discussed at length the picture and approved the changes. My ring was then sent to have a casting made - which again, no store in Montgomery has one of these machines ready to go(as I have inquired and done the research). My ring was away for approximately 3 weeks, which was explained in detail and returned to me. At that point, a wax piece was sent for me to carefully examine and approve, once again. My little wax piece was then carefully casted into a beautiful 18karat white gold ring. I saw the casting, unfinished and raw, once again before my diamonds were set into the piece. The piece was "made" at Marquirette's being that they actually set all of my diamonds and polished the beautiful ring into what it is today - a stunning ring that I am proud to wear and love. I am glad that I did careful research, in part to some of these reviews that I read on this website. I was cautious at first, but after careful examination of the process of "making" jewelry, I am more than satisfied that I made the right choice. So, in the end, my advise in to do the research and know what your options are and identify what "making" the jewelry truly involves.

My husband bought me an 18K white gold ring when we got engaged. The receipt from Marquirette's said 18K, the in-house appraisal said 18K. Recently we started examining my ring only to discover it was actually 14K gold, NOT 18K. Upon informing the owner, he said things like this can happen, it was just a typo. Very ungraciously he offered to re-make the ring, but acted like I was being ridiculous to even think this was a big deal. I don't trust them to re-make it, who knows what I would end up with. They are re-doing the appraisal, but I certainly will not be making any more purchases with this jeweler.
