it was ok

by jessica c.

well when we went to her office in Athens I did not like the waiting rooms in the well side they have toys 4 the kids but on the sick side they did not have any and on the TV all they show is info on med stuff they could put on a cartoon if they are not going to have toys I am sure the waiting rooms are fine for older kids but for a 2 year old they get board and get in to things i am not the only one who had a child who got board here I guess make sure you bring toys but other than that I loved the staff and thy made my little girl feel less scared

Dr. Johnson is excellent!

We were really happy to find Dr. Johnson. We had a very bad experience with our previous pediatrician, and she was a breath of fresh air. She works really long hours and you might have to sit in the waiting room a while, but when she sees you, she really sits and looks at your child and doesn't just assume anything. She is old fashioned in the way she does things, but she also keeps up with the latest research. She has three Certified Nurse Practicioners who help her see patients.

They have a wonderful office with a VERY separated sick and well side (2 doors and a hallway in between). The last exam room we were in had a Thomas the Train theme and my son loved it! The office staff really seems to care about the kids. They all stay there about 3 hours after closing every day, still seeing sick kids that they've worked in.

She strikes me as the kind of person who practices medicine based on years of first hand experience. She believes strongly in vaccines and will try to educate you on them, but she's never mean or threatening about it. Keeping the patients and educating the parents is just what the CDC tells doctors to do, so I think she is doing a public service by having a dialog with concerned parents instead of dismissing them from the practice. We are going to do all our shots, but just do them a few at a time.

I just like the fact that she is willing to listen to my concerns respectfully.
