A few years ago this department upgraded by installing wireless meters. They claim changing the meters did not affect the existing water lines, but many, MANY customers had the connection from the box to the main line leak shortly after installation, and every customer was pretty well told the same thing "it's on your side of the box, it's your problem", some after losing hundreds of dollars in excess water fees. Too bad there's not a lawyer willing to do the work for a class action suit - the evidence would be substantial.

This company thinks that since they are the only water company for Dale Co customers that they can treat their customers however they choose. The office staff is very rude, the board of this public utility only holds closed meeting. In speaking with other public utilities, they are required to hold public meetings. This company operates in this manner to silence the complaints against the office staff and the running of this company. They seem to forget that as a public utility they do not own it and the customers have a right to be heard. This has been going on for years, both the unsatified customers and the being silenced. And let us not forget the price gauging, the amount they are charging their customers to buy a meter and then they forget that once that meter is purchase, it no longer belongs to them, it then becomes the private property of the customer that bought it. Which means that if I move, that meter can move with me or you will buy it back. Customers have purched meters for a temporary home and then once their permanant home was completed, they were told by the Dale Co Water Authority that they would have to purchase a new meter, that they could not run their water lines from their new home to the existing meter. But again if you try to contact someone to complain, you're given the run around.
