On our first visit to the Chandler location. Found the reception staff to be very unfriendly and impersonal. Clinical staff very condescending and patronising to both child and parent which upset both of us. Not the greatest of experiences to be honest had been to better doctors. Had to find another pediatric doctor as my child refused to go back there after her experience. Also there are no toys just a TV in waiting room not very inviting for a child that may be nervous or bored.

Have been taking my kids here for 5 years. Love all of the doctors! Especially Mullen, Allred, & Nason. Never had a problem with the staff. They always get us in when we need to and we don't usually have to wait. I have several friends that I have referred to them and they love Desert Shores as well.

This office is very clean and nice. Nurses do not seem to be educated, switched to Gilber peds and very happy.

As with the other comments our experience has been the same with liking and the clinical staff but the front office needs a clean out with new people. We have even looked at other pediatricians to take our son to because we have been treated so rudely by two of their staff in particular. The scornful looks we have gotten and bothersome attitude is not appreciated but we enjoy Dr. Nason but don't know how much longer we can forgive her staff for their unprofessional conduct. They truly need to find other employment if they don't like kids!

I, too, am highly impressed with the doctors and the nurse practitioners. They are caring, patient, thorough and compassionate. Most of the staff is great, too.
There are a couple of "bad apples" among the staff (I've dealt primarily with the Gilbert office) that are indeed rude, impatient, judgemental, and treat you like a burden on their day. I don't know if they are downright unhappy to be dealing with people - or maybe they do hate their job. I think they unleash that attitude on the majority of moms - stay-at-home or working. It's usually easy to figure out when you've had the misfortune of getting one of these women on the phone - I'll usually either find an excuse to hang up when I get one of the "bad apples" and then I'll call back later. Or, I'll keep my requests to a minimum so as to avoid their scornful attitude. It is ashame that we have to walk on eggshells when dealing with the bad staff, but for now, I will continue to do so, because I want my children to continue to see the great doctors at this office.
We usually can get in on the same day for illnesses and such.
I hope someone does eventually realize that the "bad apples" in the front office staff are chasing away patients.

I am really suprised by the last comment. I always found everyone from the office staff to the nurses to be so kind and caring. We moved and I miss them so much. I was always able to get my daughter in and they always took a lot of time with her.

I am pretty dissatisfied with my recent experience with both Desert Shores locations. While this has nothing to do with the doctors... it has everything to do with the staff. I'm completely unhappy with the lack of compassion they have... they make no effort to accomodate working parents (apparently only stay-at-home moms are in this area...) It makes me very sad that I am switching pediatricians because of the staff at both locations. From the front end staff to the nurses... I'm not impressed. I feel like they hate their job which makes me so uncomfortable. Why would I bring my daughter to someone who doesn't seem to want to be there. I am very happy with the doctors who have seen my daughter and I feel bad that they are losing business because of their staff... but in the end, I want to be comfortable with where I take my daughter.
