We have been eating at Siam Orchid since they opened and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. The owners go out of their way to prepare and spice the food to your liking. All you have to do is ask. This personal service is hard to come by in this day and age.

Pros: Wonderful food and exceptional service

Cons: Wish it was closer to Mesa

In keeping with my theme of places to eat after I work out at Bally's, I happened to see this place and decided to try it. Its a small, but quaint little restaurant that looks family owned. The staff was very attentive and they made some good food suggestions. I was satisfied with my order and would definitely recommend to anybody out there looking for good Thai food in Gilbert.

I had seafood combo soup and a curry ... the waiter/owner never asked how spicy we want it and taste was utterly bland. Curry was OK. Decor a rather nauseating pink with fake plastic flower arrangement and a giant cardboard cutout of a smiling Thai woman that looks like it was stolen from airline. Place looked clean, but I had a touch of intestinal distress following morning.. could have been from the clams which might not have been the restaurant's fault. Honestly I didn't expect much from a hole-in-the-mini mall place and of course it's in the wasteland of Gilbert (sorry, but that town is just a baby factory) but a little more flavor and paint job would earn this place three stars. I have to keep in mind that every restaurant in Phoenix area has cook staff that are mexican, so it's up to the owner to really put some degree of authenticity into the meal. I'm no expert on Thai food but I did spend a month in the country.... you're better served by some Thai restaurants in Chandler and Tempe. Good luck on your culinary adventures.

I was visiting the area for the first time and saw the great reviews for this restaurant. It truly is as good as the reviews say it is! The atmosphere is not the draw but the flavor and portions of the food are perfect. The service was just as good as the food too. All around wonderful restaurant!

If you want "Glam Thai" then go somewhere else ... but if you want outstandingly delicious food in a "real" environment from exceptionally nice people then Siam Orchid is the place for you.

The food is authentic, delicately prepared, and pefectly portioned. I'll put it this way, this place is so good and the people are so nice I want them to be tremendously successful. And on the flip side this place is so good I don't want anybody to know about it but me!

My family and I have been going to the Siam Orchid since the first month they opened and I personally have manage to try 95% of their menu over the years. Their curries, Crying Tiger, and Thai Iced Tea are among my favorites, but we all agree we have yet to have something bad here.

We have eaten at the Siam Orchid several times and always found the food well prepared and delightfully presented at the table. The service was very attentive but unobtrusive. For those who like their spices subtle and not oppresive this is the place to go. The menu has a picture os each dish to help you make your selections.
I do feel that the ambiance could be improved by reducing the lighting a little possibly by adding some oriental style blinds to the windows, this would also give more privacy from the street. Do not plan on being in a hurry when you dine there as all the food is freshly prepared and cooked just for you. What a delight yhat is!.
Incidentally their web sight is well worth a visit. It is well developed and informative.

Siam Orchid is by far our fave place in the Valley for Thai. We stop by as often as we are able, and the owner who we refer to as our Grandmother due to the absolute care we always receive when we go into the restaurant. She and her staff make the food however you want it: Thai spicy like we have it or mild to suit other palates. Not only does she and her staff go beyond the pale to make you feel like you are one of the family, but the food is exquisite. Always well-balanced and consistently beautiful. Thank you!

Friends and I try to go to Siam Orchid on a regular basis. The owners try to get to know people and treat you like family. They have some of the best curry in town...the duck curry is amazing and the pineapple and grapes in curry are simply wonderful.

My friends have a special needs child (Garritt) and he loves the omelette, and the owners are absolutely great with him...always asking how he is and what he's doing. They truly make it a wonderful and fun dining experience.

I am simply not satisfied with the state of Thai food in Phoenix, but Siam Orchid is definately a stand-out, not the most authentic recipes, but certainly a place where you can take a novice to lunch and they will find food they enjoy. At first, I didn't think I liked the pictures of the food on the menu (makes me think of low-end chinese buffet), but I was with someone who really appreciated the photos. In the end, the photos helped me pick my food as well, and I was happy with my green curry. I usually don't expect much from restaurants in strip malls, but Siam exceeded my expecations.

Siam Orchid offers the authenticity of what Thai cooking is. The hostess gives warm welcomes and the service is impeccable. The hostess also provide great suggestions of not having different types of curries if the orders are to be shared. This is one of the best restaurants in town that everyone should try. I guarranteed once tried, there will be many returns.

We have been there 5 times (in a group of 5 and 6 and 3 times by ourselves). We have never been disappionted.
This is not a fast food restaurant. The food is prepared and presented with love and pride.
The name "orchid" is well deserved.
The place is clean and the owner has done a great job in the choice of dishware and overall appearance.
You won't be disappionted. If you visit them once, you'll surely go back.
No, we am not related, but happy we found them.

The first time that I visited Siam Orchid, I knew this was the restaurant for me. I am a hugh Thai food fan, and Siam Orchid's Cashew Chicken is the best dish I have had at any Thai Restaurant. Their mini egg rolls are also the best I have ever had. Most importantly, the owners welcome me like I am family every time I am there. This is the best Thai Food in the East Valley.

My wife, whos from Thailand, determines the fate of each Thai restaurant we visit with her first mouthful of Phad Thaiif its not made with tamarind paste, were not going back. Were definitely going back to Siam Orchid.

The appetizer plate of mini egg rolls is crispy, not too greasy, and beautifully presented with thin shavings of carrot on a bed of lettuce. The shrimp sauteed with basil and chilies is unfussy and boldly flavored.

The Massaman curry is thick and tasty. But it would be better with a little fat rendered from coconut milk in which to saute the curry paste. And the potatoes were slightly undercooked. This aside, I finished the entire bowl and then mopped some rice in it to get every last bit of sauce.

The decor is simple and cheerful, and the place is immaculate. The owner, who served us, is friendly and attentive.

Sometimes, I feel like I am 6 years old when I encounter a menu with pictures, but I recognize that for some people, Thai food is scary unless they can see a picture, so I get over it. In this case, the pictures are pretty appetizing and they accurately represent the food that is delivered to your table. The food quality is good and the restaurant is clean and the people are wonderful. I felt like sneezing because of all of the flowers in the restaurant, but my wife pointed out that they were silk, so maybe I am allergic to silk, or I got a piece of hot pepper stuck somewhere. In any case, although I have tasted more authentic Thai food, I think this is a good compromise, especially for those who might be overwhelmed by the blends of tastes and spices found in more authentic dishes.

This restaurant is not near ANYTHING I ever go to, but three times, I have driven well out of my way to take someone here for lunch. The food quality is always fresh, the spices not overpowering, the decor simple. In a strip mall, you never know what you are going to get, but I found that the photographs of their dishes helped me select food I would enjoy, and made it easy for Thai newcommers to make selections that weren't too scary.

I love good Thai food. Number 24 on the Siam Orchid menu is a yellow curry dish called Musseman Curry. It is truly the nector of the gods. It cannot possibly be made any better. We love the owners who treat us like family.

Choosy diners might wonder why they don't have many decorations or fancy wallpaper. They put all their love into the food and the personal attention to you the customer. We refuse to go anywhere else for our weekly "Thai Fix".
