Outstanding! I went to Banner Good Samaritan, yesterday, December 9, 2010, and was very impressed with the hospital. From the cleanliness to the professional to the helpfulness of the staff. I was there for 3 hours visiting my Aunt, and witnessed how well the RN, Lab Tech, Social worker & other person like a social worker (which came by to see if she had all the necessary services she needed when she returned home) My aunt is a medicare, age 79, very low income in her working days, individual that was treated very well. Thank you to everyone there at Banner Good Samaritan, from the snack bar, to the gift shop, to the professional staff on floor 9 you guys are AWESOME!

People Get a life and quit being a victim. Everything complained about on these pages can and does happen in EVERY hospital. And the MRSA chick is just ignorant and Gloria, you need to pull your head out of your A@&! THere are crappy employees and "white trash" everywhere in AZ..No one here wants to work! White, black, green or purple! If you think you could do better go for it loser!

Disappointing. I was transfered from Banner Estrella on emergency to see a surgeon for my wounds as they did not have hand surgeon. I was told I would likely have surgery that night. I was immediately admited into a hospital room but no one viewed the injuries until 7am the next morning (7 hours later) they just continued to wrap them as they bled through the gauze wraps. no Iv catheter was placed, no iv fluids were given. The next day I had to ask repeatedly for water, food, toilet paper, soap etc and it would take several hours to get them or never get them at all. Toilet paper took 8 hours to get a roll and at least 6 requests. I helped the woman patient sharing my room to the bathroom more than a dozen times in 2 days as the nurse would not come anytime soon if at all when buzzed. I felt sorry for her as she had had several accidents in her bed already and just needed hep with her walker and IV poll to get there and avoid an accident. My IV catheter was leaking and was dripping down my arm for hours and was told it would be changed - it took 3 hours to do so and I had to demand it before they administered antibiotics through the catheter that was clearly not working. After sugery on one day, no one followed up to tell me what occured in surgery and I was shocked to be suddenly told I was having another repeat surgery the next morning as I was being wheeled down to the surgery ward. I was not on narcotics and barely slept post surgery all night. It would have been nice to have been informed of the plan on my injuries. After I was released by the surgeon I was told I could go home at anytime but it took 6 hours for the hospitalist to get around to releasing me. My only other experience with surgery is with Scottsdale Health care Shea. What a difference in the two facilties care.

This is by far one of the worst hospitals that I have ever been too. I had a fever of 102.0 and vomiting uncontrollably for hours. No wheel chair, no stretcher, nothing but a plastic chair in a over crowded waiting room.
They do not offer you a place to rest and lay down. You are forced to sit in a small room face to face with multiple patients with various illness. Some bleeding, coughing, hacking, draining wounds, exposing everyone in the room to who knows what. When I crouched to the floor because I was about to faint, this PA comes along and hits me in my back. Whack, whack, whack, "get up! , get up! ". Like I can get up, fever dehydration and about to faint. No compassion. That is the worst ER I have ever been in and I hope to never see the inside of it or that hospital,as a patient, again as long as I live.
There are a lot of other places to go to get something that they used to call, "CARE". Hmmm.....What a novel idea. Maybe they should change their name. Good?, not in my books.

Gloria and many others are the reason the world is so corrupt.
So since my son is biracial he should not work at good samaritan. Only whites can provide great service? Wow your head is stuck so far your own a#% it's a shame. I feel sorry for you that you have to live on earth with all these other races amongst you. I wish you the best luck on finding an all white hospital. Oh I know maybe find a time machine and go back to the depression and maybe you will find an all white facility. Well good luck let me know how it goes.

If Good Sam can rid itself of the white trash and some minorities, hire educated whites in all positions, Drs, nurses, aides, housekeeping, and evaluate on their job performances, (work, work, work), eliminate the gossips, and even the hospital rooms might begin to look clean. I would also like to add that I prefer male bosses, women bosses tend to rate job performance on how much gossip they collect from female and male subordinates.

I have recently been dealing with their Transplant team. Let me start by saying, the social workers are elitists, the surgeon is apathetic, the coordinators are complainers and whiners who have anal retentive ways about them. Oh yes, they also feel as if they are entitled to give life, or take it away. Nothing good about this place. It used to be much better.

Wonderful caring nursing staff and docs. The best place to be for any high risk pregnancy. A great team of perinatologists and neonatologists.

One of the largest hospitals in the state Good Sam has had an outstanding reputation for excellent service in all areas, cardiology, emergency medicine. It is also a teaching hospital with residents in internal medicine.

After my one hour hospital stay where I was left unattended for 75% of the time, I was sent home. I got my hospital bill in the mail. The bargain price for this wonderful treatment was $1400, after insurance of course. I had asked in writing to receive financial assistance, and I sent these requests with good faith payments. And they still contacted a collections agency. The damning demands they sent weren't even signed (do they look at what they send people anymore?) I also found out that they got incorrect insurance information from my primary care physician (why not contact me?) When I finally contacted a guy about the situation, he bluntly told me that there was nothing he could do at that point, and that I was screwed. Ah, but no. The time has come where we as Americans stand up against these overpaid baboons and their corresponding patient relations. Enjoy your lawsuit, Banner "Good Samaritans"!

I think the experience is ok for the average person...however, I do not believe in blood transfusion for any reason. Their resident dr, Dr. Travis Bilanzich, DO, spoke down to me when I told him I would not accept it if I needed one. He spoke down to me for 20 minutes and when I told the person in charge of HIM, the person defended him and did not even listen to WHY I was complaining.
The nurses on duty defended Dr. Travis Bilanzich, DO and were very rude to me, especially ELIZABETH, who repeatedly tried to force me to take Ambien sleeping pills so she didn't have to help me with anything.
I don't mind that he had to explain the reasons they give transfusions or that he had to get my written consent. My complaint was that I had said no several times while I was under the influence of the drugs they gave me. I told them I didn't want any more anti-biotics because it was making me sick and they gave them to me any way. Then Dr. Travis Bilanzich, DO proceeded to tell me that if I didn't like it, I could just leave.
I filed a formal complaint with that hospital and they twisted my words writing "patient did not understand what the dr. was saying and had to be told several times."
On top of that, this was during a pregnancy. When I had my babies, they contracted an antibiotic resistant infection called MRSA. They are one now and are suffering thanks to the poor quality at Banner Good Samaritan. I know that they got the infection there because other people I know got the same infection during the same time I went into labor.
All of these people in question are caucasian and I am African American. None of these people share my religion. There was a lot of prejudice against who I am and what I believe in and just all round poor treatment.
Hospitals take advantage when they think you are under the influence of their meds.
After I had the baby, the nurses were gossiping about the experience I had with the dr. while I was still pregnant. That is how I know I wasn't imagining things. They all smiled in my face when I walked out of the room and acted like everything was fine and they were doing nothing. I had given a gift to both nurses, regardless of how they treated me and guess what, I found it in the trash.
I hope I never have to go back there or see that man again unless he is REPENTANT for how he treated me.

I had such a great experience at Banner when I had my two children. The nurses in delivery took special care of my needs and of my children when they were first born. The best thing was that the babies got to stay with us in the room and never left us. If the nurses or doctors needed anything with our babies or with me, they came to the room and our business was done there. The delivery of my two children was a great experience because of the staff in labor and delivery and I would recommend this hospital to anyone who is pregnant and trying to determine where to deliver,

I am a kidney transplant patient, I was reccomended to this place all the way from Akron, Ohio.
I few years ago I had major problems getting my very expensive immnosupressents. I am a Medicare patient, with no other insurances. Well to make a long/sad story short I has the fotunistic oppertunity to run into one of their Transplant Social Workers, by the name of Julie LaMantia. I'm telling you, this woman can work magic when it comes to getting people the meds they need. And she will keep checking up on you to see that you got your meds, then she will try to make it easier to get help if you happen to run into a problem again. I highly reccomend this place to people who need help with post transplant help.
