Small plates and wine are boasted about here, however, the big screen tvs take away from the otherwise nice ambience. Food was very good as was the wine--closed during this past summer.

I tried Vintabla last week with some friends and think this place should be on everyone's "Must Do" list. The place is a mix of wine store, restaurant and full-service bar with a great patio. Every wine on the list is for sale in their store at greatly reduced prices, which is nice because it makes it easy to buy if you've had a wine you enjoyed. And this list is spectacular. These are not the wines you see at every other restaurant in town. This is a well-chosen, world-class list with wines available by the bottle, glass and 2-oz taste.
We tried the beet salad with a crouton of brie cheese that was delicious. The Peking Duck was crispy and came with steamed buns and salad, also excellent. Next, we tried the Short rib Stroganoff with home-made papardelle noodles. Again, excellent. The meat was so tender, it fell apart with a fork.
The Sommelier on duty that night was very attentive and matched tastes of wine with each course. This is truly a great aspect of the place. This guy had a knack for matching food and wine and you don't see this at many Tucson restaurants.
My wife had the Toffee pudding cake for dessert and was thrilled. They have very good coffee, too.
The portions are not huge, which we like. Too many places serve too much on the plate. Not here. These dishes are crafted beautifully with just the right amount of food.
Our server was attentive without being over-bearing and was very helpfull in directing us to try new dishes we'd never tried before.
It's refreshing to dine in a place that has excellent and affordable food and wine and sees the direction that restaurants should be headed. We will be back again and again.

Pros: Wine and food are outstanding

Cons: I couldn't tell which side of my knife was the cutting side
