Although I am not much of an Asian food person, or sushi person to say the least; my experience at Hon Machi was such a delight. The waiters weren??t anything out of the ordinary, but very efficient-, which they should be considering they only take drink orders. You start of the meal with a complimentary salad and miso soup, which in my opinion was not my favorite, the soup was salty which was good, but I wasn??t too fond of the salad and dressing. As, you have probably guessed I am a very picky eater, just like a little kid, but in the end the meal I had was fairly satisfying.

At Hon Machi they make it an experience more about interacting and being entertained, which would be absolutely perfect if you are considering taking little ones there. The cooks have a big square stove where you sit around and they cook your food in front of you. Also they play little games with the food, which I thought was quite funny, so if you??re not into playing with food I highly suggest this is not somewhere you go. I think it is a perfect place to go for families with kids because they will absolutely love it (just be sure your kid likes Asian food or sushi). One thing I didn??t like was that you had to sit at a table with people you didn??t know, so being that me and only two other friends went I??d definitely recommend going with a big group of people so you can take up a whole table without having any awkwardness. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, being that I don??t really like anything too crazy, and it was actually surprisingly quite delicious.

Prices at Hon Machi were not cheap, but not totally outrageous either. My shrimp fried rice and sprite came out to be around 16 dollars, which for one person is arguably a bit expensive. But all in all the encounter there was one I would definitely do again. Between the food and the entertainment it will leave you with more than just a meal, it will create an experience you can actually look back on and be glad you went. If you??re looking for a date night or family event and like Asian food and sushi this is a restaurant I would most definitely recommend!

I have never tried authentic Japanese food before, but my friends would always talk about how much they enjoyed it, so I had to finally try it myself. Over the weekend my friends and I all went to Hon Machi. This place was not just any ordinary restaurant, there are chefs that keep you entertained the whole time! Right as I walked into the restaurant the staff immediately greeted me; they were very friendly. I was not too sure what to order when I looked at the menu so we all just ordered a variety of different foods so that way we could each share and get a taste of everything.

I ordered the crunch roll along with the eel roll. I was terrified to try the eel, but it actually turned out to be pretty appetizing. My other friend ordered the Las Vegas roll which was a little spicy but still very delicious. I have never tried real sushi like this before, the only sushi I had before was the California rolls and I ended up liking this type of food a lot better than I thought. It was so entertaining to watch the chef cook the rice right in front of out table but I do have to admit, it was a little awkward sitting with other people we didn??t know at the same table, but thankfully the cook started conversation with all of us and made it more comfortable then expected.

After trying all these different foods and experiencing this type of atmosphere for the first time, I would love to go back with my family because I think they would enjoy it as well. None of my family likes sushi, but I feel like if I get them to try this they would, because that??s exactly how I was. Going here changed my whole output on Japanese food. I never considered it one of my favorite foods, but now after going there I am happy to say it is. Everything here was very fresh and I have nothing negative to say about it. If anyone is interested in trying Japanese food for the first time I highly recommend this place, its delicious!

I am not a sushi fan, but love the teppan grill...calamari is the bomb!! Also love the entrees and the ambiance..like Benihana, but not as stuffy or expensive...feel very comfortable at Honmachi......highly recommended for special occasions or just a nice meal....

It's hard to find a quality sushi bar in a land-locked state, but I have found one! Conveniently located across from Chandler Mall, Honmachi is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. They have tepanyaki grills along with a sushi bar and full Japanese menu. The wait staff and sushi chefs always have a smile on their face and provide quality service. The nice part is that they offer soy paper in lieu of seaweed for sushi rolls. They have a great selection of custom sushi too! This location is just like the one on Chandler Blvd.
