I apologize for the length of this review but I really feel I have to talk about my experience here: I went here as a present from my boyfriend to the salon, it was a surprise. And what a horrible surprise it turned out to be. He got me the Living Social deal, and please guys, I am going to be honest. Stay away. The facial, I will admit it was really good, and I had a great time. But they will schedule the facial first, which relaxes you, and then if what happened to me happens to you, you will be in the chair for hours afterwards. I was in my chair for almost 6 hours total. I want to state first and foremost that I have long, thick hair, to about the middle of my back. It's not THAT long but I can understand it may be a hassle. I wanted a full color, some highlights, and a hair trim. My "consultation" was a complete joke because the Instructor was overwhelmed and nowhere to be found by her student, half the time. The student walked away from my hair probably around ten times for several minutes at a time. I felt sorry for her and she was very frustrated by the end, when she left - halfway through my highlights. I also asked for certain colors and the instructor decided they weren't going to work so she chose something more drastic in the 5 seconds she came over. I am being completely 100% serious when I say that until the end when she had to come in and no other students could be passed around to work on my hair, I saw her for 30 seconds total in 5 hours time. She also mis-understood my request. I asked for full color with a partial highlight, and offered to pay extra for this service. I asked the women behind the counter if this was okay and they said yes but make sure with the instructor. I told the student, AND I told the instructor this was what I wanted and I thought they understood, everything seemed fine and do-able. But the student started doing full highlights on my hair. I am also not very familiar with the highlighting process so by the time I figured out what they were doing it was too late, and I really had NO idea what I was in for, because no one gave me any sort of time frame for finishing until around 5:30 pm when one student commented that I would still be there until at least 7:30 for the whole job, and not to me, but someone else, I just happened to overhear it. (And message my boyfriend, FINALLY, a specific time frame) The student was supposed to have help but had to wait over 2 hours for another very novice student to join her. I have to say that the students were nice and tried very hard, I completely commend and appreciate their effort, but this was still a service to be paid for, and there was also friction on how to approach my hair, confusion, and politics I picked up on from just sitting in my chair. From 1 pm to almost 3pm I had 1 student on my hair, she was later joined from 3pm to 4pm by another student. The first student left at 4pm because she had to go home, in other words, she probably shouldn't have been given this job in the first place. The second student (bless her effort, I really appreciate her trying so hard) stayed the whole way through the color process until after 6pm, and another student came in and helped her for about half an hour, then left to cover for someone else, so the instructor came in and helped her finish up: And here's one of my biggest problems: She finished up with EVERY shortcut she could on the top of my head, which is a VERY important highlight area (even I know that) and I now have chunks of gaudy highlights where I had asked for thin slices, which is what was done on every other part but the top. If you're going to take forever on parts that people aren't even going to see, why rush the most important part? I had no consultation whatsoever after the first and was left in the dark about the process, especially by the end with the instructor. My neck was stiff, I had a headache, about 100 foils in my head, 6 people working on my hair at different times, and my boyfriend said he told them over the phone when he made my appointment 2 weeks before, that he had told them I had long hair, and they had told him up to 4 hours for the entire process. With me adding the full color, I understand that it may take longer than that. I gave myself a big time frame, but I never expected them to take what would have been 8 hours total on my hair. They did not either. By around 5-6 pm students started to leave and the Night School students started coming in. By this time just about everyone was coming around with worried looks and trying to rush to get it done. After a few hours of this it does start to get to you. I couldn't help feeling that me having long hair really was a problem. The first student also didn't understand why they didn't cut my hair first, and I asked people this several times, since I just wanted a slightly layered trim, which could have saved them time in the end with the highlights that they had a lot of trouble with.

I bought an online coupon from Living Social here and it was amazing. The facial was like being at a resort. It was a Dermlogica facial so it was amazing. The teacher and student evaluated my skin and talked to me about it. They had spa

My boyfriend and I both get our hair cut at the school and have never had a bad experience. I've been looking for a convenient and inexpensive place to get hair cuts and this school fits the bill. Everyone is nice and the students and teachers always do a great job with our hair.

I wanted to get my hair permed and went to this school. They didn't know I had it colored so made me an appt. But when I got there instead of using what they had told me they couldn't do it as they didn't have the right solution on hand. But gave me a coupon to come back and get it done at 25% off. I was impressed with both gestures, their truthfulness, and the coupon. I will go back to see the work they do. However, I would suggest that if you call for an appt for a perm that you let them know if you have color on it.

I'm not sure what the problem was with the other person who reviewed this place, maybe she flunked out. But, I can tell you I get my hair cut, colored and highlighted at this school for about $50. If I went to a regular salon it would cost me close to $200 to do.
The staff is VERY friendly, and has even taken care of my sleeping toddler for me before while my hair was being taken care of. The students are overseen by qualified people, and I've never been unhappy with my results from this school. I have had some bad hair cuts at other schools though.

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: It's students working on you

I read the reviews, good and bad, and decided to try it. The place is clean and fresh. I found the students and teachers to be so nice. I love what they did to my hair and their special on facials got me to try one for the first time. I'm going back. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about on prices. This place is cheap compared to where I used to go!

I have been going to this school for over a year and am shocked to read the other reviews. They do my color and cut my hair and I have had lots of students do my hair and the teacher always helps them and it always turn out right. I used to pay a lot at a salon and now I don't. I highly recommend this place. It is sad to see people talk so poorly.

As a professional myself, I went in to this school looking for talent for my store, Unfortunately it took a lot of fixing to recover from the damage that the "Instructor" did, (not the student) to my hair.

As a student there I do not recomned going to this school. They people who run it do not know anything about the busisness the prices on the stuff are the same as in a salon at some places. There customer services isn't good. The owners of the place treat the students and the teacher with little or no respect. I do not recomned this school to anyone.
