I signed up for their membership, pay $66 per month, then receive 1/2 off other services. i cancelled after a couple months of paying $66 and had several credits remaining. I tried using my credits 2 months after my cancellation and they said they expired with my membership. they failed to mention to me when i cancelled that my 3 or 4 massages that i already paid for would be void. shaddy. disappointed in their service. do not recommend their membership.

Pros: ok massage

Cons: misleading membership gimmicks

Spa One is solid all around and the prices are great. I signed up as a member for 3 months and used it a lot more than I expected. At $33 per hour for massages, I found I was a lot more impulsive about getting services. I cancelled last week because my back has healed and I am heading out of town for 2 months. I plan to sign up again once I am back. Try Fitz or Sarah, both are good.

I recently went to Spa One with my best friend who is a member. We both got massages and facials. The staff is absolutely great. They made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. The massage was very good and the facial was even better. They asked me to buy a membership. I declined and was glad to see that the staff was not pushy at all. I plan to go back a few more times. If everything goes well, I will eventually sign up. I guess I'm just a bit cautious in this economy. However, I highly recommend Spa One. It's the best spa I've experienced in Tucson.

I have had many pedicures when I lived in New Jersey but not as many here in Tucson. I went to Spa One on 6/27/09 and at first I was a little surprised by the way the pedicures were done but since this was my first time and a gift from my husband I gave it a go. Namm was so sweet and it was so relaxing with her. She explained how it would work and I was able to sit and read my book and relax without children. I had the first appointment of the day so I did not have to wait to be seated. The lady who was at the counter kept asking me if I wanted to sign up for a membership. Namm was very nice and did a great job. The whole event was really wonderful and it is very calm and peaceful in there. It was a great experience. It was a little more than I would want to pay normally but it is a nice treat. I would maybe go once a month maybe but it is a little more in this economy than I would want to pay. I am going back on 8/8 and my polish is still beautiful and holding. I have never had a pedicure last this long. Thank you for such a great job.

By far the worst spa experiences I've ever had (and I tried going more than once with different technicians). The massages are terrible and you can't trust the waxing services. The staff is also incredibly rude. Take my advice and do not support this business - spend your money elsewhere! I have a feeling the positive reviews are fabricated/posted by staffers.

First of all, I would like to start by saying that i completely agree with the review that states that most of the reviews about spa one are probably fabricated by the company. I am a licensed massage therapist in tucson. I was considering working for spa one but kept hearing horror stories from former employees/customers. I have been searching craigs list for a job and the funny thing is spa one is the only spa that lists job opportunities everyday. Their postings on craigslist are very similar to the reviews written here. Why is it that all the reviews that are five star dont have any other reviews on their profile? If they are so wonderful why always have positions open? Wouldn't the same wonderful therapists be working there? I figured I would give them a shot anyways. I made an appt at the campbell and 6th location for a deep tissue massage with katelin. The massage was average. She rushed through it and i am not sure if she was sick but she kept sniffling (Iike she had a runny nose the whole time) not very relaxing for me :( not to mention the music is HORRIBLE!!! (not massage appropriate) The girls at the front desk were polite but were laughing and carrying on personal conversations as i checked out. I thought it was rude and didnt feel like a place i wanted to work for. I also heard another lady complaining to an employee as she checked out that she was not happy that spa one had changed their wax. Seems like alot of drama for one "relaxing" visit! No thanks, I think i will look for work and get worked on somwhere else!

I received a facial from Ashton and she is a new aesthetician at Spa One. Besides being personable, she seemed very knowledgeable and comfortable with the service she provided; my face didn't look or feel too greasy afterward despite the steamer and all the products she used. Go see Ashton!

I hate, however, the fact that once you receive your service, you come out all relaxed and a front desk person coldly asks, "How was your service?" (not that they care about your response) before explaining the member programs. Don't come at me with money commitments when I'm all relaxed!

Spa One is somewhat pricier than Massage Envy and Rubs but it has never disappointed me. Every time I stray from them I regret it immensely. Kudos to Laura at the Skyline location. She has overcome her disability of being blind and always gives me great massages. I love the fact that this company has a heart. The sign up packet states that the owner gives a percentage of the profits to battered women's charities. Obviously, they also make special accomodations to hire people like Laura. I love this place. It is always spotless and elegant. I look forward to my appointment all week and I can't wait to go back.

I am an athelete and I get massages regularly to help my muscles recover. I have had 6 massages at Spa One from 3 differnent people. 4 were fantastic and 2 were good. The deep tissue massages here are better than anywhere else in town and I tried them all. Not only that, but the prices are super reasonable. It's only $33 per hour massage after your first massage! Are you kidding me? That's a great deal!

I was a loyal customer of the Arden Red Door Spa at the La Paloma Resort for 4 years. My regular massage therapist, Arthur, unexpectedly left and the Red Door staff told me he moved away. I was unsatisfied with the other people I tried and stopped going regularly. A few months later, I tried Spa One and the massages were good so I went a few more times. Guess who I saw in the lobby one day? It was Arthur!! He told me he left Red Door to become the Director of Massage Services at Spa One. That explains why the massages at Spa One are so good! I also tried their manicures and pedicures and now I am hooked on those as well. The skinny: Spa One is the best spa in town if you aren't a slave to fashion.

I have been a client of Spa One for years and I am really happy with the way they treat their customers and my wife agrees; she is a client there as well. Spa one recently started offering regular clients free up grades such as french polish or a free bottle of nail polish with any 90 minute service. She goes to Bethany or Andrea at the Campbell/Skyline store. She is looking over my shoulder and just told me to quote her..."They are understanding, efficient and meticulous." In addition to great pedicures, Spa one offers massages that I think are the best value in Arizona. If you book an appointment on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, they give you a full hour instead of the traditional 50 minutes. I strongly recommend Jeff or Jill for hot stone massages. Overall, it is a great place to relax, and unwind (or be pampered if you are a woman). The store is clean and beautiful, the workers are professional, you are treated like royalty and the prices are still about 1/3 cheaper than Gadabout.

Spa One is horrible, and they are up to thier old tricks. I checking in recently and there were four negative reviews that have since been removed. Two were from ex-employees and two from customers. The ex-employees confirmed that most if not all of the good reviews posted on yelp and citysearch are written by employees under the direction of the CEO.

Here is the bottom line, go to Spa One IF:

1. You want to deal with a business that has several open investigations with the Attorney General for consumer fraud.

2. You want to deal with a business that ignores complaints to the better b b.

3. You want to have a 60 minute appointment last 35 minutes.

4. You want to be cajoled and harrased into signing up for a membership and then have it not canceled no matter how many times you might ask, plead, beg, threaten or report to state agencies.

5. You want to deal with rude employees who could not care for your health or your well being.

Please search

Avoid Spa One at all costs.

This is the place to go if like deep tissue massages. I get a lot of them and the masseurs at Spa One are the top notch. The price isn't bad, either. I also had a really good hot stone massage there. I can't vouch for any other treatments.

I received two great waxes at Spa One (Campbell and Skyline)! Claudia and Caitlyn were both extremely friendly - I was very comfortable with both ladies and almost forgot about the pain (ALMOST - there's really not much you can do to ease the pain of a brazilian wax!).

I have been getting waxing services for many years and the 6th and Campbell location in perticular has been the best waxes I have received. I really enjoy that they use a type of wax that hardens and doesn't grip the skin as much leaving my skin less red and doesn't hurt as much. Especially if you get brazilians this wax makes a brazilian alot less painful. I would reccommend Spa One to anyone who wants a great wax and at comparable prices.

My sister vists me frequently from Boston because I just gave birth to my first baby. She like to see her niece at least once every 4 months.

My sister loves to visit spas but I do not go very often because they are often out of my budget. I took her to Spa One as a one time treat but I now go back every other week. In short, I fell head over heels in love with the place. First, all of the services were terrifiic. In fact ,my sister said she had the 2nd best massage of her life at Spa One. Second, it's very affordable. I signed up for their preferred customer program and now I only pay $33 for a one hour massage. My sister and I went together and had a great time.. She keeps tellnng me to try the pedicures but I suggest you try the facials, which are also terrific. I highly recommend Crystal.

I visited Tucson 3 times and 2008 and once in 2009 and I am sorry that I did not discover Spa 1 until my last visit. The interior is much nicer than I expected and everything was spotless. My pedicure from Keri was excellent and very safe. I am glad to find a place that takes such care to prevent infection and makes you feel like a queen. They do not use the same tub as the person right before you and all the tools are disposable. My facial was good and my massage with Cody was excellent. The prices were very reasonable. I got 4 services and the total bill was only $165. I usually pay $90 for my massage alone and another $100 for my facial. I wish Spa 1 would open a store in Boston.

I got a massage by a gentleman named Fitz and it was wonderful. A little cool in the room but after a few minutes I really did not care anymore. They told me my next visit will be half off so I made my boyfriend go the next day while I tried a few more treats.

A nice young lady, I think her name is something like Carmel, did my facial and it felt so good that I actually fell asleep I was so relaxed. Finally I went into another room with a lot of windows and a pretty view.

I can't remember the girl's name who did my pedicure but she sat in the corner and had a lot of yummy chocolate! She told me about a new almond pedicure so I decided to try it. I would recommend this treat for anyone who wants to relax and have really soft feet.

I found my boyfriend lounging on a chair on their patio and we have both decided a trip back to Spaone is on our list when we visit Tucson again.

I have had wonderful pedicures before. I love to travel and as part of the treat I spoil myself to a special pedi when out of town. Last week was my birthday and I decided a special pedi was in order. I've been a member of SpaOne for a year now and decided to try an upgraded service. It's called the Almond Paraffin Pedicure. I call it a yummy pedi because the aroma of the Almond oils just set the tone. My Nail Technician Debra brought my pedi bath and as I put my feet in the water she added what they called Almond Milk bath into the tub. Actually I think it's more like a huge bowl. Anyway it turned the water Milky. It felt so soft and smelled so good. Then after she took off my old polish she used this scrub she said has refined sea salt and sugar, with more of that heavenly almond fragrance. Then after that she put a masque on my feet and massaged that in. I have to say it's a hard choice as to which was my favorite part, the scrub or the masque. I thought she was finished , no...she added paraffin on my feet after washing off the masque. Wow did my tootsies feel good. I was ready for a nap after. You have to try this Yummy pedicure.

I've been a member of Spa One at the fifth and Campbell location for over a year. I used spa services before but Mani (Emanuel) gives the best Swedish Massage I've ever experienced. I've been to spa's all over Tucson, Michigan and California and Spa One can top them all. I've taken guests to Spa One and again, every one raves especially with the massage. Mani uses a range of motion in his massages unlike I've ever had previously. I had been experiencing arm pain, and since I've started using his services monthly that pain has gone away.
The other services are excellent also. I've had facials, manicures and pedicures. It is a wonderful retreat for a girlfriend afternoon at the spa. The restaurant within the complex is great for a break between services. Don't be fooled by the more expensive services at the resorts. This one has them all beat.

Andrea, one of the nail techs at the Campbell and Skyline location, is the most detailed nail tech I've ever used. I love the way my nails look after leaving her station. However, they don't have massage chairs or do airbrush designs. But if you're looking for a nice, flawless mani/pedi that lasts longer than one from the typical "Nail Salon", Andrea does the best job at that particular location. I won't go anywhere else for my nails now. I've also had a couple facials there, both were good experiences. The massages I've had there were awful though. The first time I went, the therapist reeked of cigarette smoke, but fortunately gave a good massage and didn't hurt me. The second therapist I used at that location seemed very inexperienced and nervous. It was the most painful massage I've ever experienced (and I've had ~20-25). She also didn't offer aromatherapy oil (which is supposed to now be included since SpaOne raised the prices on all services). I do not recommend SpaOne for their massages, but like stated earlier, Andrea (at Campbell & Skyline) does a fantastic job for mani/pedi.

The second therapist I used at that location seemed very inexperienced and nervous. It was the most painful massage I've ever experienced (and I've had ~20-25). She also didn't offer aromatherapy oil (which is supposed to now be included since SpaOne raised the prices on all services). I do not recommend SpaOne for their massages, but like stated earlier, Andrea (at Campbell & Skyline) does a fantastic job for mani/pedi.

.

I felt the other people were right to not recommend this spa. I went in for a spa treatment, was only massaged for 35 min instead of the full hour that I paid. I had to go pick up my girls from school but they kept me waiting for more than 30 minutes! I explained that I should not get "short changed" in the time that I paid for my massage (that's money hard earned) but I was cheated anyway. I was hoping to get some relaxation but came out with poor customer service by the inconsiderate manager at Campbell near Grant. They're only nice to you if they think they can get you to buy more (including membership) but brush you off otherwise. Go elsewhere. It's not worth it.

I literally cannot say enough bad things about this company...so I will only tell the worst. My wife made appointment at the Skyline and Campbell location because they were the only one available on short notice. She reiterated with the receptionist the time and place because we live in Rita Ranch and didn't want anything to happen (this would be the second time an appointment was screwed up). She gets there and they had no record of the appointment. No apology, not even a thank you. After pleading her case the manager gave her a gift card for a free massage and was told it would be good at any location. A month later she made an appointment at 6h and Campbell and again verified the time and location and informed them about the gift card. When she went to use the gift card AFTER THE MASSAGE, AFTER BEING TOLD IT WAS VALID AT CHECK IN she was told the person who issued it no longer worked at the company and they would not honor the card and expected her to pay $65 for a substandard massage. Not only that, but the manager at the 6th and Campbell location accused her of forging the card! It was an electronic gift card! NOW THEY CALLED THE POLICE...THEY WANT TO BE PAID TWICE TIMES FOR ONE SUB STANDARD MASSAGE?!!! THE Beter Buisness Bureau and the Attorney General's office are the next stops if this is not rectified.

If anyone from the company would like to contact me I would love to talk to you. Attractive women on signs around town don?t make up for the lousy way you run your company.

Edit: Anyone else notice how this company gets a series of bad reviews then suddenly "good" reviews pop up that read like advertisements? Please dont do buisness with this company. The are the worst in Tucson...easily.

The most recent reviews seem very sketchy and I would not put it past the employees of Spa One to do so. They are inconsiderate and unprofessional, particularly the 2 locations I was treated poorly at--on Grant and Campbell and the other one near Sunrise/Campbell. Do not trust your credit card with these people (read the rest of the real reviews for reference) or your back. They also press you and humiliate you to compensate for what the massage therapists aren't paid by telling people who tip below a certain amount ($10 for example) by saying "That is low. You did not tip enough" like the rude blonde manager at Grant/Campbell. Even the corporate office said that kind of comment should not have "come out of her mouth." The ads were also deceiving which is why they had to change them. Please go elsewhere and you will save yourself a lot of hassle. They are now putting cards on all the cars at U of A which is very annoying and litters the area. I wish they would shut down.

I lead a very busy life and in my line of work &I travel quite a bit, therefore I love to relax while on the road , so I book services on every chance I get to relax and revive myself. I have had many services form Flordia, Calfornia, Arizona and Chicago. And they have been wonderful some of them above average. I have been to SPA ONE many times while in Tucson and its always a WONDERFUL experience, from the moment I walk in I am greeted with a smile and a kind hello , as I sit in the lobby the lobby is quite and relaxing. I have had all of the services that SPA ONE offers and each and every time my service is just for my , it appears as if for that moment I am all that matters to the treament person ( skin, massage, nails) . I have purchased
gift cards for some of my closest friends so they can enjoy the holidays, I would like to thank all of you at SPA ONE for the professional services and relaxing time that I have spent at SPA ONE. Thanks again to you ALL !! oh yes I forgot to mention that the Spa is always very clean

This place is impressive. The lobby is tasteful and spotless, everyone is in uniform, the staff is professional. I had a massage, a pedicure and a facial. Everything was top notch and the bill only came to $110. I have no idea how they can deliver such a great experience at such a low price. At resorts, I normally pay twice as much and the services aren't anywhere near as good as the services at Spa One.

WORST MASSAGE EVER!!!!! I have had over 100 spa treatments in my life time; some great, some bad but this massage tops the list! An example of YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I had a man in his 40s attempt a massage at the Sunrise & Campbell Location. It felt like nothing over my body and then agressive massaging on my neck and upper back. When I complained at the front desk they seemed shocked-stating he has been there for a while and one of their better therapist. I was than offered some names to try when I come back- I told the manager that if she considers him to be one of their best than I do not want to try other therapist. I told the front desk that if I wanted a man to rub oil on my body & make my neck hurt for $39 I would make sure he was tall-tan and in a fire fighters uniform.
Only positive note- I didnt have to pay -BUT I WOULD NOT GO BACK EVEN IF GIVEN ANOTHER FREE ONE AWEFUL AWEFUL AWEFUL!

This "spa" is the worst place i've ever gone!! They employe people straight out of beauty school and have no experience at all. The people in charge are rude and not kind at all. This "spa" charges WAY TOO MUCH for what they have to offer. And beware of the Spa One in the Sam Hughes plaza, not only is the service horriable but its smells worse than a dump, seriously walking in there i almost pucked... i thought spas were supposed to be relaxing and smell good?!?!?!?! this business doesnt belong in tucson,...this business is not owned by people that truly care about the service they provide. The only goal this company has is to MAKE MONEY!!!!

Do not go to Spa One. Be forwarned that money is primarily their focus, not your actual well-being. Even after stating I had no interest in staying due to health issues, I was still being pushed to stay in the membership plan. Lot of pressure to join when you're just inquiring. In agreement with a reviewer here that business practices are not great. No follow-through on their word, with membership cancellation and reimbursements for fees that should not have been charged in the first place. I asked for the help of one manager over the phone to take care of the membership cancellation and send a form too so it's in writing when I could not come in person because of an ailment. Not done as per request so I was charged for the membership fee, thinking it was all clear. I asked for the help of another manager who did not follow through on reimbursing my funds and kept delaying it. I'd call the gen. manager and would be promised to receive a return phone call the next day which did not come, and no explanation. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but my colleagues and family were right; that I had to resolve it by taking action with my credit card company so they can deal with the frustration of trying to settle the disputed charge so I would not have to as I have for weeks. So, lesson learned and this company has successfully turned me off to not only their services but most spas in general. Their concern for your needs isn't genuine and I found out the hard way that they're only helpful and accomodating to you up until you decide you never want to come back because of unsatisfactory service. How would they like it if they were treated this same way and while they were in chronic pain? I'm surprised that they did not take customer satisfaction more seriously because feedback and word-of-mouth still weighs heavily, which is not looking so great here. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this place unless you like going through this rigamarole in the end.

Watch out! I love and (used to use) their servies, but do NOT become a member until they revise their membership terms. To quit Spa One, you must physically go into an office, get a form, and fax or mail it to corporate.

That's all fine and good, but they never told me this until I realized after I tried to quit (and received a phone and verbal confirmation as well as confirmation directly to my face) and saw I was still being billed monthly.
So, I have *unwillingly* been a member since November, 2007. I was *willingly* a member until February of 2008.

In February they happily put my balance on a gift card, but I was never actually removed as a member. I've unsucessfully tried to get a refund for all the months they billed me.

I get my pink and white nails done here. I have searched for a place that had reasonable prices and does a good job. I have been continually impressed with the service and the way my nails look. I will never go to another place in Tucson. I think they have a great business

I received a massage from Missy and loved it. She is so sweet and really helped my back. I had gone in there unable to move my shoulder and came out a new woman. I now go a see Missy once a month. I also have gotten my nails done by Namm and love her! She is hilarious and great at nails. I would recommend anyone to go and get services there. The pricing is amazing and the service quality is that of a resort. I purchased a membership for my mom and I. Now we have "Mother Daughter" days at Spa One. We love it!

I recieved a gift card to this place for Valentines day. It was a very bad experience, and I'll never go back or recomend this place. The management was very unprofesional and uninformed on procedures. When they were wiping my face, I noticed a dirty re-used towel was about to be used on me!! I looked at the tools they were going to be using on me and they were dirty! you could clearly see pus from another patient. ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING! They only charge you a few dollars for their services because they are lacking in other areas

When it comes to spa's YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Do not go here

Don't be fooled by the nice lobby and image they present. I went to the Skyline & Campbell location and this place is awful!! I thought for the premium price, I would get premium service. Instead, I was absolutely shocked at the abysmal pedicure I received. You sit in a chair and they put your feet in a bowl filled with marbles. Huh!? Then they turn the chair into a lazy boy recliner and you sit there knees bent to your chest all scrunched up. She spent maybe 20 minutes tops on me and there was no massage, no buffing, no warm towel and all the meanwhile I had to listen to the other girls, who weren?t working, sit around gossiping and being totally unprofessional during my o{nly time to relax. So basically you pay $30 not including tip for a crappy nail trim and polish change. Oh, and they only had 15 colors to choose from and they do nails? Biggest rip-off. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere!

I have been to this place on a couple of occasions (not recently) and will never go back. I had massage therapists whose phones were on vibrate and they were massaging my back with one hand and texting with their free hand. Not ok. I also had a horrible experience with waxing, as my aestetician decide to "try" a new hard wax (instead of soft wax) for the first time on my body without knowing how to use it. I had several splotches of hardened wax all over my body that she left me to pick off. What is even more awkward is that it was a brazilian bikini wax. It took almost 2 hours which made for an uncomfortable, painful, and awkward situation that could have been avoided if the staff was trained appropriately. Other treatments I've had were completely sub par. If you are attracted by the lower prices, take my advice when I tell you its worth it to spend more money to go somewhere else. Ironically, I've heard great things about the other Spa One on the North side of town, so maybe its worth checking that one out.

The place definately has a good "spa" feel to it. But, the two times I have had massages there, I was a bit dissapointed. They have 30, 60, and 90 minute massages. But each time I had paid for 60 minutes, I only got 40. They do say that they include robing time and a couple minutes to explain the massage to you. But 20 minutes? And the second time I didn't even get the "talk" because I had already been there. SO make sure you get what you pay for. Then I had a manicure and pedicure. Also dissapointed. All they do is put your feet in this bowl of warm water with marbles at the bottom. I guess I was used to a foot bath with the bubbles and massages and all that. Now they will use sea salt scrub or whatever it is that they use, but I was surprised that I left with a feeling that I liked the nail "salon" better than the "spa". Then - I asked the lady if she could do a design or decal or something, and she said she didn't do that. What's up with that?
Now don't get me wrong. The place does have excellent customer service and they are all super nice. And the place is beautiful.
