My boyfriend and I stopped by the Red Planet Diner for breakfast before heading out to the airport last Tuesday. We arrived around 8:30am to just a handful of people in the diner. We were seated right away, the waiter came right over, was very friendly and took our order. Our food came out very quickly - and was quite good to boot~! I'm not sure what the other reviewers were complaining about - our experience was wonderful! We had wished we had gone their for dinner, rather than wasting our money at Savannah's the night before.

We love it - the atmosphere, the food - and the t-shirts - which both of us bought to remember the experience by.

I have to honestly say that the experience at this restaurant left me wary of visiting any non-chain restaurant. The decor was very interesting and our food arrived quickly but the waiter was not friendly, caring, respectful, and in control of his job. When we spoke to the owner about our overall dissatisfaction he didn't seem to care and made excuses for just about everything that was wrong with his diner. This restaurant has no customer service! My advice is: go to some other well respected place of business and allow them instead to get paid for their customer service and respect.

My wife and I and some friends visited this establishment two days ago on a visit to Sedona. From the get-go the waiter was very uncooperative with our requests. He only complied when we decided to go elsewhere. When we finally thought we had that taken care of, we commenced to order our food. When the food arrived (rather quickly; the only positive in the entire experience) it was good, but not extraordinarily so. Our hotel had given us coupons for 10% off and when we presented it to the waiter he took it and several minutes later the owner came to our table and informed us that he could not accept it. (This coupon, by the way, had no restrictions printed on it other than that it applied only to food, not drinks, and that it was invalid during happy hour.) We asked why not and were given a rehearsed answer about "restaurant policy" and how the "computer won't let us do that." When we described the unsatisfactory service we had been given thus far, the owner was unapologetic and down right refused to remedy the situation. After about 10 minutes of dispute we finally reached a consensus that we still felt was not quite satisfactory. In conclusion the service was the absolute worst I have ever had at any restaurant and to top it off the owner of the establishment knows nothing of customer service and keeping satisfied clientele. My advice: Don't ever visit this diner. Aside from the interesting decor, it is a complete waste of time in addition to being a very unpleasant experience.

Love the decor in this place. Red Planet is a classic good diner with delicious burgers and fries. Definitely a Sedona hot spot that you shouldn't leave out if you visiting town.

Living close to Sedona, whenever anyone visits, they want to "do" Sedona. And always, this unique looking restaurant catches everybody's eye and they want to eat there. SAVE YOUR MONEY! The food is mediocre on a good day and the service is terrible. It is a neat restaurant to look at, and it is sad that it has such great potential that they are not capitalizing on.

Fun diner, the decor is wild, aliens ans spaceships everywhere... only in Sedona. The food is very good diner-style. Try the deep fryed dill pickels, they are a taste treat with ranch dressing for dipping sauce... a lot better then they sound. The best ruben sandwich around.
