First things first, Papagayo Mexican Restaruant serves the finest chili con queso I've ever eaten! Menu full of typical Mexican food choices, all of which are quite good. Full bar.

Great customer service

This is some of the best mexican food in Tucson! Guess what they know what chili con queso is and it is EXCELLENT. It is a long drive across town for us to dine here but we make the drive anyway. This is one of my favorites and the staff has always been friendly and courteous.

Service Horrible !

We choose to eat dinner in the bar area because it allows smoking. What a huge mistake !
The bartender was extremely rude and unfriendly. We were polite and courteous, still no responce from her. Towards the end of our meal, she was on the other side of the bar sitting and eating with some other people and seemed put out that we asked her for our check. While my husband was taking care of the bill, I went to go complain to the Manager. She then yelled at my husband saying " thanks for nothing " and calling him a curse word. How's that for customer service ?? This was not our first time there and I do like the food but, I think it may be our last visit just because of the horrilbe way we were treated.

best burros and salsa in Tucson

The roast beef burros-enchilada style are outstanding, also the all white meat chicken burros. Margaritas are great. Authentic spicy salsa (mild also available) and chips best in town. Family run and operated, live music on weekends. Avoid the tourist places and go where the locals eat.
