It was a very authentic African dining experience. Tam Tam's has food from many different areas of Africa. The waitstaff was really friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. My friend and I stayed for a long lunch, drinking African tea into the afternoon. Unfortunately, they were out of matooke, an item listed on the menu that I was excited about ordering. It was a good value for the amount of food served.

The food really is cooked to order, this means it takes a half hour to get a dish but it is well worth it. I haven't had a lot of african food so I didn't understand the menu so well. We were given some recommendations and it was so good! If you like lots of zesty meat, thick gravy, and steamed vegtables, this place would be great. I had goat and it was so tender in tasty with just enough spice to give it it a kick. The place is also very inexpensive which explained why so many students from the U were there. Great value and a break from the same old same old.

Pros: Low cost, freshly made meals

Cons: small drink list
