This cafe is adorable. Great breakfast based cuisine. Glazed-doughnut pancakes are amazing and a must have when you visit!

Great cafe! It's hard to get into sometimes so show up early! I've had a few different dishes from there for breakfast and it's always good! It does echo in the building because of the high ceilings, so I wouldn't bring someone there if you want to have an important conversation!

My husband brought the brisket and fries for me for lunch. Of course the fries are as soggy as can be (that always happens with take out), but the meat was so fatty I had to "clean" all the fat out before I could eat it. Gross!

Pros: I know not to order brisket again

Cons: Fatty meat used in the brisket

I absolutely LOVE this place! It is great food, a fun atmosphere, and great service! The only downfall is that it can get quite noisey but it's a fun place to go for brunch. Try the apple souffle, it is delicous! Great coffee too!

My husband, daughter, son and myself went for breakfast. I had read reviews and knew we would be waiting so really wasn't surprised when the hostess said "about 45 minutes." The food was average, nothing really special. My husband had the two egg breakfast, I had the huevos rancheros, my son had the German pancake and my daughter had an omelet. The bill - $67.00! Are you joking? It's eggs! I make a better breakfast, including the German pancake (mine are much better!) and will definitely do so from now on instead of GDC. Gross, pretentious vibe.

Pros: I know that I don't have to go back

Cons: The price

My husband and I went to the Good Day Cafe with our 2 kids for dinner. They have no kids menu. My meatloaf was old and hard and had no flavor at all. My husband ordered the eggs and hash breakfast dinner. He assumed that because it was so expensive the hash was made in the diner. Wrong! It was Hormel hash out of a can. Eleven dollars for a hockey puck shaped mound of hash and 2 eggs.

It was just a terrible dining experience and I would never consider returning.

Pros: I got nothin for you

Cons: overpriced, old and out of a can

I'd rather eat unpretentious food done well than ambitious dishes which fall short of the mark, and Good Day is an example of the first. Even the chicken noodle soup is amazing! And now that they're open for dinner, they're my favorite for three meals out of three.

Pros: Food, presentation, decor, service

Cons: Loud, popular

Finally a great restaurant in Golden Valley. A place you can feel good about - not a chain! Great food, breakfast available all day. Coffee drinks, smoothies and baked goods. Even a few cute items that would make a quick hostess gift or b-day present. Hope they add dinner soon.

I expected this place to be amazing. I have been there twice and I only think it is ok. I really love the cafe mocha and the fun mug they serve it in. I also love the decor and design of the restaurant. I ordered the egg sandwich the first time and I thought it was only average. I ordered the French spinach omelet the second time and thought it was only ok.

I loved the pancakes. I will go back just to eat those lovely pancakes. They taste like a regular cake at first, but the finish on the cakes is sweet and amazing!

Pros: Cafe Mocha and Pancakes for breakfast and you will leave happy!

Cons: I was told they don't take reservations over the phone and when our party of 8 arrived they told us they do take reservations for large groups...weird.

I have to admit that the food here is really, really good. The wait staff is very nice - friendly and efficient. The bus staff is so nice and smiley and just as efficient. The coffee is excellent and the food is so much better than the average breakfast anywhere! Love the souffle omelets and the toast and the jam!
However, this cafe takes "call-ins". That's how they describe it. And the call-ins are allowed to walk in the cafe and wait a minimum amount of time and are shown to their tables. I watched. Some of them looked as though they just fell out of bed - all mussed and barely put together and they got seats well before anyone who was waiting diligently. (I saw an older couple get put off time and time again and had to keep waiting) When you walk in and are told that the wait is about 25 minutes you can expect that plus some. But when it gets to be close to an hour because the call-ins are getting right in then something is not good. It's understandable that there is a wait for such great food and ambiance but hard to watch those who called from their cars to sit down right away. A call-in should be put on the list in the same order that everyone else is put on the list. That's how other restaurants do it. It's fair.

The bacon and cheese souffle was out of this world, my husband really enjoyed his wild musroom bendict. The toast tasted as if the bread had come out of the oven this morning. I am not a fan of jam/jelly but this was really good too. The caramel rolls were flying out of the kitchen from my view at the bar area and people were buying them by the box load from the bakery behind me. I must try them next time. Its not the cheapest but was well worth the $33 we paid for the two flavorful meals plus extra toast and soda. There was a 20 minute wait at 11.30 which isn't really bad, you go to the uptown or hells kitchen, you have an hour wait, this place is huge. We were highly entertained by the bar staff making fresh smothies with exotic ingredients. I'd definately recommend this place!

The food is exceptional. The only problem is the wait. They even make there own jams. Service is wonderful. You may want to go at a off time.

What's not to like about a restaurant that knows how to make a great sticky caramel roll, or a place that thinks to top brioche-based french toast with caramelized bananas and huckleberry jam? Best of all, this also is a place that…
