My family and I went to Bella on Sunday for their brunch, we had a party of 6 walk in when it was busy. We were seated promptly by the hostess and our server was at our table immediately filling our water glasses and explaining the brunch to us and where to locate everything.
Overall we had a great time at Bella and we will definitely be back for the brunch. Reading some of these reviews and seeing the negative responses about the service makes me wonder if we were at the same restaurant? We were greeted with a smile by the hostess our server was absolutely helpful and the staff was really great. Maybe it just depends on when you go and who is working? If that staff will be there next Sunday you bet I will be there.

We have a new baby and had not gone out to a decent restaurant in a while. Finally managed to plan a Saturday around the baby's schedule and hoped to have lunch at Bella. Got everybody cleaned, dressed and made it to the restuarant at 2:05 pm this Saturday. While the staff was figuring out where to seat us the Manager came out and told the staff they had closed for lunch at 2:00 pm. Now, I had just checked their website before leaving my house and it clearly said they served lunch until 2:30 pm on Saturdays. The Manager promptly left without a word of apology or explanation to us, his local customers. I was quite perturbed by this behavior. The staff was a bit embarrassed and tried to apologize to us; even they were not aware that their website said lunch until 2:30 pm. Clearly this reflects a lack of customer focus and even decency. I had to pack my baby back into the car and went to Axel's bonfire for lunch; they had much better service than Bella.

I have dined at Bella on several occasions and have consistently walked away less than impressed and dissatisfied that I spent my money there. If you do not live in the north metro, there is absolutely no need to travel out of your way to dine at Bella.

The food is the ubiquitous Americanized Italian fare that is adequately tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would not have a problem with this if their pricing reflected the quality of their food and substandard service. At Bella, you pay Pazzaluna prices and get upscale Olive Garden cuisine. My service experience has ranged from adequate to poor. Service is generally slow and management unhelpful, but I have run into an occasional server that is knowledgeable and pleasant.

The patio area is well manicured and enjoyable in the summer, and the interior is modern and relatively inviting. A decent setting for a strip mall restaurant.

If they lowered their prices and improved their service, they might have a winning combination of their hands. For me, I will not return unless I use a Happenings or other coupon and go with low expectations.

The ownership needs to take a serious look at their management. Unprofessional and rude, avoid Kenny at all costs, not only will he ask you to take your hat off but he might grab you.

I read some of the latest reviews - are you guys sure we are talking about the same place.? We went there on Sunday and had the greatest brunch we had ever had. The place was very busy, but we were taken care of...very well. Our server was excellent, he kept making sure that we had everything we needed. We will definately go back - and tell our friends.
In reading some of the previous reviews - it looks to me like the management did just the right thing - it got rid of disgruntled employees - the ones who were causing problems and probably writing their own reviews.
This is a fine dining restaurant which shouldn't have to deal with people like this.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

As a person who frequents this place known as "BELLA", I would first like to start off saying there was a lot of potential for this establishment to succeed. Great food intimate setting not all the drama you find at other bars. Well unfortunately it has gone straight down hill. Here are a list of things I have noticed in the last 3 months.
*They finally figured out how to keep all of the outside lights the same color, keep it classy bella!
*The best bar manager they had, got let go. And the only reason half of the 30 people that ever go there did.
*Kenny the manager is always being seen hitting on patrons, mostly men and sometimes inappropriately touching women patrons.
*Kenny the manager getting into verbal and physical confrontations with patrons of the bar and employees. Meanwhile he was heavily intoxicated! And it was completely his starting of the issues.
*A female GM was seen just this weekend on Friday, wasted on the job asking women to take of there shirts stand on the bar. Taking and giving free shots to those women! When I say drunk I mean drunk, I can drink and this GM was wasted and mind you on the job and to the point the bartenders looked uncomfortable around her!
If you ask me Bella didn't need to let some of it's staff go that they did. They needed to take a good look at what they are left with and realize that's who should be gone! The management is horrible, look at what happened to Rapids !?!?! Related issue...I think so! The only thing right at that place is a couple Bartenders and the guys behind the wall cooking the food. Good Luck Bella, I would love to open a Buffalo Wild Wings in your spot!

Pros: Great brunch/Bar service

Cons: Drunk out of control Managers

Stopped in there with two of my friends on a whim to get dinner one night. We stood by their host/hostess reception area and waited for about 5 to 10 minutes for someone to come by and seat us. In that time we were noticed by a bartender and a server but got 0 service.

Went a few shops down to another Italian restaurant that was fantastic for roughly 1/3rd of the price.

We used to live in the Twin Cities and still have family near Blaine. We usually come down about once every couple of months and like to try new restaurants.

We were considering the Bella for our next trip down (end of March), but I will never, ever consider eating in a restaurant where very inappropriate behavior by employees, on the clock or not, is tolerated.

How in the heck is this Kenneth guy still employed?

Thank you, Citysearch, for helping me avoid a potential catastrophe. Thank you, SIAndy, for spreading the word to the people you know.

What a joke.

Being the DJ in the whole situation I would like to state my side of story. The manager we speak of walked into Bella belligerant and immediately walked up to the DJ booth stating "I am the evilest mother F-er in the world" Giving him a passive look I continued my job playing music. about 10 or so minutes later Kenny was fighting with the gentlemen in the above story. Claiming he was a manager he told the 3 men to leave Bella and that he "ran this b*tch" When the men asked to speak with a manager Kenny stated "I am the manager mother f-er" The manager on duty stepped in and tried to calm down Kenny...with no prevail. 10 minutes later Kenny went back to the kitchen area and stayed there for a little bit. He then came to the DJ booth where he started using profanities with me. I told him "Kenny, I do not know whats going on, but I am only here to play the music." He then went on saying that I was nothing but a h@nky and threatened to call his boys from Chicago to come get me. He continued taunting me for about TWENTY MINUTES! I then packed up my DJ gear, told the manager I didnt have to take this, and I left. I was told that others working at Bella were injured during the restraining of Kenny after I had left although I was not there to witness. The following week I went into work to find Kenny already working. Surprised that he was not fired, NOT EVEN SUSPENDED, I told the manager I would not work for a company who condoned this type of behavior and I left. I said I would come back if something was done. The next day I found out that nothing was going to be done and they were going to just sweep it under the rug. I was told that "Kenny was not on duty the night of the incident, therefore we cant do anything about it." The problem is, Kenny represented himself as not only an employee at the time but was kicking people out like a manager would do. It does not matter if he was clocked in or not, he represented himself as a manager. I have been DJing at Bella for quite some time now and have always enjoyed the people who worked alongside with me. Unfortunately I have lost all respect for not only Kenny, but for a restaurant who would still want to employ someone who would behave so badly. I will no longer be DJing at Bella. I was completely disgusted with the whole scenario and apologize to any patrons who had witnessed the horrific acts that occurred that night. My reputation has been tarnished and I'm sure Bellas has been destroyed. For that I am sorry.

After talking with him at the bar in a friendly manner for several minutes, Kenny took it upon himself to grab me in the crotch area unprovoked. He told me I was the "big d*ck one" and my brother-in-law was the "cute one." Because I consider myself civil, I did not get confrontational and, instead, decided to get up and go to the other side of the bar. He then started talking to my brother-in-law. After a couple minutes of civil conversation, once again Kenny grazed him in the crotch area. When my brother-in-law did not respond to his advances and stated he was not a h*mosexual, Kenny got extremely upset. He accused my brother-in-law of being in denial about his sexuality and he threw my brother-in law's drink behind the bar, smashing it to the ground. He also swore at him several times and used several racial slurs towards him and the rest of our party. I assure you that none of his behavior was provoked by our party in any way. Kenny then took my brother-in-law's coat and told us all to get out. He told us that he "ran this b*tch" and did not want us there anymore. The other employees took it upon themselves to calm him down and returned us to our seats and directed Kenny to a different part of the bar. The bartender apologized on his behalf and purchased us a round of drinks.Several minutes later, an altercation between Kenny and the DJ ensued involving Kenny shouting profanities at the DJ. After the DJ left the premises, Kenny had to be forcibly detained by several employees until the police arrived. Kenny continued to use racial slurs and swear at anyone and everyone in the bar that would listen to him.On his way out of the premises, he took it upon himself to tell a black couple sitting at the bar that "they were just as bad as the rest of us honkies."I will never return to Bella. My friends will never return to Bella. And everyone and anyone in the community I can tell to not go to Bella will hear my story.

We walked in as a party of four with no reservations and were promptly seated (this was our first brunch). Ice water was brought immediately. We noticed the salad and seafood line when we came in and had definate plans to try that. Our server explained the price and what was included. The mimosas were GREAT! Recommend the cannoli, the fresh pasta that was delivered to our table was wonderful. Try the berry crepes, they do a great job. Just a heads up, this is our third time there and we have been there when it is really busy and it can be a bit hectic. Overall 4 stars for the three times that we have been there. Worth checking out for lunch too, prices are reasonable and service is great.

Pros: Great staff, beautiful restaurant, lots of energy

I have never been here before but my experience was great. A beautiful setting and a huge selection of food that was all very fresh tasting. Made to order omelettes to a chocolate fountain. A good deal at 16 a person including a beverage. I felt as if we had gotten our money's worth. Our service was prompt and friendly. It was not very busy at this time though. I would go back for brunch.

My first impression....walked in. Red head on phone while waiting in line to talk to her about getting a table (by the way, she needs to cover up with more than just a tank top because she is not cute and her black top looked horrible with her pale skin! Also-its winter!) So... waiting......she gets off the phone after about five mn.... talks to the person ahead of me with no smile "dont give a sh-t" attitude. That customer did not look happy...then, my turn...asked her about getting a table....she walked away to check something....for like 5 mn....came back said after she seats a few people she will then check on a table........I said screw it and went by the bar area....Why for a place that looks so nice have people work there with poor attitudes??? The bar area....bar tender was slow and left the bar at one point when multiple people needed to be waited on...my meal had no flavor and they had to bring me out a different plate of food....sighs......New emplyees will be needed to make this place work...durring a recession the owner should choose wisely otherwise you will keep getting one to zero star ratings...its a shame....the place could have potential.

Our party of six had a dinner reservation for 6:30. We waited until 6:55 to be seated. When we were finally seated, we were squashed in at a table meant for four. After bringing out drinks and taking our appetizer order, our waitress disappeared and did not visit our table again for 20 to 30 minutes to take out order. After taking our order, we waited for over 30 minutes for our food and had to ask someone else for bread refills. FInally, my husband went and found out waitress and asked her where our food was. Meanwhile, the tables around us were seated after us, and were already finishing their meals. When we finally got our meals, mine was barely warm. Our waitress was not sorry for the service. We did talk to someone, a pseudo 'manager,' and received 4 free drinks and 2 free desserts. Overall, service was not a priority.

The main reason I would not recommend Bella is due to the service. I tried reserving the private dining room for 18 people serving a three course meal and ended up cancelling due to lack of response and being treated rudely by the staff, Kenneth, in particular. The first time I called I spoke to Joe and was told the minimum for reserving the private room is $1000 and he said he would send me the menu for choices. I never received the menu. I called two more times for Joe and both times he was out and did not return my calls (unsure whether he even got the messages). I spoke to Kenneth both times who was extremely rude and snobby. He told me the minimum was $1500 and when I asked to talk to Joe he said he would pass along my message. In the end I never heard from Joe and neither of them ever sent me a menu. My mistake for thinking they would appreciate a guaranteed $1000 minimum on a Tuesday night.

I ate at Bella twice. I don't know how I ended up there the second time because the food was very bad for the price I paid for it. Absolutely no customer service at all. This place has awful management and they screwed up reservations two out of two times I went. My girlfriend and I had spaghetti and fettuccini Alfredo and some soda and it was over 70 dollars. Our server was such a bimbo, she kept serving us the wrong drinks and when I ordered lemonade, she brought me a long island (i am 19).

When I asked for a refund, the claimed they would send me one. I never received it in the mail, and when I called a few weeks later the store manager ignored me.

This place looks like a cave, and it definitely feels like one because there is a bunch of trolls running around serving minors crappy food and alcohol. Do not waste any time or money in Bella.

I recently visited Bella in Blaine with my husband. We did not know it was there until we saw the beautiful exterior as we were driving by the sports center a couple weeks earlier and decided it looked like a nice place to go. We were greeted by Kenneth quickly upon arrival in a very friendly manner. I explained that we were celebrating our anniversary, so he had us wait at the bar while he prepared our table. They set it with a white tablecloth and gave us an intimate booth in the back of the restaurant. We were very impressed with our server who made sure to make every part of our evening memorable. The food was amazing and looked beautiful. The calamari is the best I've had since vacationing on the coast. I am not much of a steak lover, but the Bella Filet is amazing topped with crab and a sweet honey bourbon butter sauce. The server surprized us during dessert with glasses of champagne to congratulate us on our anniversary, a very nice touch. Bella has done a wonderful job bringing class to Blaine and we will make sure to spread the word. We have a new favorite restaurant!

My husband and I ate at Bella on Saturday thinking it would be like its counter-part Bella-Sera in Minneapolis. I've been to Bella-Sera and was very impressed. They had great food, great service and terrific ambiance. Bella in Blaine put their name to shame.
We arrived and were attended to quickly. We asked to be seated at the bar outside. We were shown the patio, but not seated, apparently that was up to us. We noticed that there were only three stools at the bar and they were all taken. They also looked like they had been brought from inside and didn't even match the decor. Also, it looked like up to 10 seats could have been at the bar, like I said, there were only three. So we sit, we were not given menus either. A bartender or waiter gave us menus (a big bald guy). Menus, and NO WATER. The entire time we were there we were never given or offered water. To me, that's inexcuseable. My husband had a gin and sprite and I had a glass of wine. I will say they were reasonably priced. That's the last good thing about Bella.
As for the food, which took some time considering the place was half empty, was mediocere at best. We ordered their sausage and mushroom pizza and the crab dip. The pizza was no good. It seemed to be a premade crust, nearly no sauce, PRESHREADED Kraft cheese (which tastes awful), nasty cubic cut sausage that tasted worse than Dominos, and tasteless mushrooms. The artichokecrab dip was also subpar. I tasted almost no crab. It tasted like pasta filling, which is not what I want to dip dry grill bread. The bread was thick cut and there was not enough for the volume of dip.
As for the service during the meal. We were never checked on after recieving the food. What if it was the wrong thing or something? We couldn't have had a substitute, we would have been stuck with it. And still, no water, not offer to refil our beverages. We left less than a 10% tip. And our server blatantly looked down my top several times
Bella in Blaine is worth missing

My wife and I live in Eagan. I was attending a buisness meeting in the Blaine area and asked my wife to meet me for some dinner. Several co-workers strongly recommended Bella. Considering the sports bars are getting a little too "college" friendly, it seemed like a great idea.
I arrived at Bella before my wife, and even though we did not have reservations, the hostess was more than happy to seat me. The atmosphere is beautiful. Italian art covering the walls, large round romantic booths.
My wife shortly arrived and was equally impressed with the atmosphere. Our server was friendly, and was happy to explain Bella's surf and turf specials. We chose a bottle of wine off of Bella's outstanding wine list, and were delivered some hot bread until our entrees arrived.
Both of us decided on the surf and turf specials. The food was remarkable! The steaks were mouth watering, and the scallops never tasted so fresh. My wife and I were very impressed with every single moment of our time spent at Bella.
Even though my wife and I live in Eagan, we will without a doubt return to Bella frequently. The service, the food, the wine variety, and the atmosphere truly made our night. I highly recommend Bella to everyone.

We had a reservation at Bella's for a special occasion Friday night. It was my first time visiting the restaurant, and after having heard about it's upscale dining and beautiful interior, we thought it would be perfect for our celebration. It started out fine, with our table set and waiting for us with only drink and dessert menus, as we had specified a dessert reservation over the phone. But that was the extent of the great service. After our party of 8 was seated, our server asked if we wanted anything to drink. She only went about one third of the way around the table. The other two-thirds were not asked what we wanted to drink, so we just stuck with water. A few minutes later, she took our orders, and about 15 minutes later we got our orders...except mine. She claimed she never heard my order, which may be true -- the order-taking was handled in a very roundabout way, and I don't believe she wrote anything down. So, as everyone else was digging into their desserts, I waited 10-15 minutes for my order to be served. She didn't check back to see how things were until about a 1/2 hour later. All of our glasses were empty. When she did come back, she only filled up a few of the water glasses -- she didn't fill mine. At the end, I ended up having to ask someone else walking by for a box. And, of course, I got charged for my order that she had forgotten. All in all, the worst service experience I've had. I was upset but thought maybe it was a fluke, but my husband had gone there for lunch one day and had poor service then as well.

Bella has the makings of a good restaurant -- the desserts were great and looked very nice on the plate. They just need to get some top-notch servers in there and get rid of the sub-par wait staff. I won't be back.

I had occasion to dine at Bella because it was the venue for a professional event I was attending. Sadly, Bella failed all around.

I can?t speak for everyone?s food, but mine was entirely forgettable. I ordered macaroni and cheese. Although many enthusiasts of mac and cheese, including myself, love it for the texture, we also expect at least a modicum of flavor. This particular rendition featured pasta that was overcooked, and a cheese sauce that was sorely lacking in any flavor that would closely resemble cheese. I sincerely question how much actual real cheese and not cheese product or processed cheese food is used in the dish. Although I hate to admit it, I do have the occasional Stouffer?s entree for dinner due to a hectic work and non-work schedule. But I?d rather admit that the Stouffer?s mac and cheese shoots the Bella mac and cheese away at a fraction of the price. For my dollar, it?s no contest.

Brutal as the food was, it is nothing compared to the indifference of the manager. I have no qualms whatsoever about saying his name is ERIC. First of all, when I had a chance to mention to ERIC that the food was unsatisfactory, he violated the number one rule of customer service. He blamed the customer. He told me that I should?ve mentioned something to my server immediately. When I explained to ERIC that doing so would mean interrupting the speaker of the program I was attending, he seemed unconcerned ? again, not his problem. Then he violated another rule of customer service. He did nothing to recover the business. No apology, no offer of another entree, no comped meal, no refund, no gift card for a future visit.

I?ve shared my displeasure with the professional association that booked the event at Bella, and we likely will not be back. I know I won?t be back as an individual.

The look of Bella is very nice. I met a friend for appetizers and happy hour and was seated at a table in the bar. No one came to our table for about 25 minutes, there was a very loud and drunk group of Bella employees seated at a booth nearby....one stumbled up explaining she works there and would be willing to take our order since noone was helping us. We smiled and said that we'd wait for our server. The server did not remember our order of two appetizers and one drink. Never came to check on us or bring us our bill. The food was so - so. I was really disappointed. It looks like Bella could have potential, but this restaurant needs to make some big changes in the staff.

Other than a respectable relatively positive opinion from katrinks24, the only other positive reviews are short blasts that elaborate on nothing specific. They sound like they were composed by one of the 21 year old waitresses or from similar that 'borrowed' daddy's credit card. Patronize Bella with caution, if at all, knowing the tab will be large and the high probability that you will be amongst the overwhelming disappointed customer group that will not return. The proof is in the experience.

Let me start off by saying that the place looks great on the outside. Even the inside is dressed to impress. The food looked good on the plate, but looks can be deceiving. I had Chicken Marsala, which I know, isn't ultra impressive, but I'm somewhat of a snob when it comes to Chicken Marsala. The Marsala 'demi-glaze' was weak, there were a few piceces of 'wild mushrooms' and some waxy potatoes. I've had better wedding reception renditions of Chicken Marsala. Many places to a much better job. One comes to mind - Trattoria da Vinci on Sibley St in St. Paul (prices are actually better).

The other thing I was amazed about was the fact that there were items on the menu that were upwards of $40-45. Just ate at Muffaletta's last weekend (Como Ave in St. Paul). Again, prices are comparable, but a place like Muffaletta's and bella are not even close to the same category.
The service was so-so... the server forgot our drinks. They also had a salad (that my wife tried), that was comparable to 'The Salad' at the Vineyard in Anoka - which is not a good thing in my opinion. For the prices on the menu, you'd expect a little more class... torn menus, and generally loud atmosphere just didn't cut it for me.

I will say this - I know everyone has a bad day - sometimes things just don't turn out. So maybe I can give them a pass - but here's one final thought: They have a HUGE menu. I feel that the more you have on your menu, the harder it is to prepare everything with excellence. While my meal itself wasn't terrible in the dollar amount category, the grill items that the rest ot the party had were much more expensive and no one is talking about it afterwards - which is usually a bad sign.

My wife and I took an afternoon off from work to do nothing. We decided to stop into Bella since it looked like more than just a chain. The service was unacceptable. We were seated and were not approached by the wait staff for at least 20 minutes. Okay if the place was full but we got there at 1:00 pm and there were only 2 other parties. Given the manager caught wind of our predicament, he did approach us and apologize. Once we ate the mediocre panini sandwiches, the waitress offered us complimentary dessert. We reluctantly accepted but after waiting an additional 15 minutes with no dessert we felt is was best to leave. Overall, lunch cost us over 2 hours.

terrible food, ridiculous prices. Bon Fire is a thousand times better. Gristle in a filet,...yeah, like that was REALLY a filet. No flavors...even the desserts were ridiulously priced. The only reason people rate it high is we want and need better places to eat. Guess what, this isn't one of them.

I was quite excited about trying Bella in Blaine. There are so many chain restaurants in the area that it was a breath of fresh air to finally have a place that was a a little more upscale. Boy, were my hopes dashed. I went with a group of five girlfriends and one had to bring her baby girl. They did fine accommodating our needs (like warm water for a bottle) and the servers were friendly . The ambiance was quite nice but my meal was such a disappointment that I felt very regretful about paying the price for it.

I ordered the Cappellini Primavera and it was plain, plain , plain. The past was slightly over-cooked and there was no sauce to be mentioned. I actually added a pad of butter to my own plate just to make the meal consumable. I am pretty sure they completely omitted the white wine butter sauce described on the menu.

The other main disappointment with the place was the women's restroom. I ended up with diaper duty for my friend's baby and there was absolutely no place to change her. There is no wall station and the bathroom counter also functions as the sink making it unusable. I resorted to putting her changing pad on the floor of the handicapped stall and didn't even bother putting her pants over her onsie because it was such a chore to get her changed. I understand that it's not a kid-friendly establishment but these situations arise and they should accommodate.

If you want to have a dinner worth the money, skip Bella and drive to Minneapolis.

Unlike the other reviewers, I've had only positive experiences at Bella - six positive visits, to be exact, and I'm a very picky foodie.

The Food: The Napoleon flatbread is delicious, if you like spice, try the suausage & peppers, the Bella salad is great, the Spinaci ravioli is solid, the chicken piccatta is delightful, and any entree that includes the Bella potatoes is sure to be good. Two foodie friends from NYC visited at Thanksgiving, and both had great meals. My parents and boyfriend celebrated my birthday there during brunch on Christmas Eve - everything was exceptional during that visit. It is most definitely NOT is the same eschelon as Olive Garden!

The Service: I've had moderate to fabulous service at each visit. Usually it depends on the day of the week, the time of the visit, etc. I've had some veteran servers, and some that are slightly awkward - I guess I didn't expect anything out of the ordinary - it is the suburbs, after all. As a former server, I saw nothing that raised my ire.

The Ambience: It IS a little loud a times. The DJ has the music a little too high during the dinner hour - I expected it to much quieter at 8PM. The decor is very chic. For a romantic dinner, reserve early and ask for one of the round booths. As for the "wannabe" aspect - it is Blaine, after all. Not exactly a hipster stronghold. If you're visiting to "be seen", then you picked the wrong part of the metro.

ALl in all, I really have enjoyed Bella, and I will continue to return.

The atomosphere is so WANNA BE...this is NOT your momas Olive Garden. Olive Gardens food is much better. This place cant decide if it wants to be a miteclub or restaurant. Loud music, bad service, and very High price$ make this place not even in the top 100 even for Blaine.

I celebrated my birthday here recently. My husband had made reservations and notified them that it was my birthday. When we arrived, there wasn't anybody at the hostess stand and we waited for a few minutes wondering if we were supposed to grab a waiter. A man at the bar finally turned around and greeted us. I guess he was having a good conversation. We were seated at a booth decorated with confetti and there was a birthday card signed by the staff. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and my husband had the Linguine and Shrimp. The meal was average and I'd compare it to the Olive Garden, in all honesty. I was surprised that they had dance club music playing in the dining room. Since it was my birthday, I received a free Creme Brulee, which was tasty. It was a Wednesday, so I took advantage of free drinks in the bar, which was fun and lively. Overall, we had an ok evening, but I think we'll only be returning for drinks. The food really isn't worth its price.

Went to Bella for the first time with some friends on the recommendation of one of them - nice atmosphere, but what's with the service?? Simple questions like do you have a drink/wine or appetizer menu rattled the server. We were given this from the server when we asked about 'speciality drinks' "Have you every heard of Lemon Drop or a Cosmo??" Hello - you have nothing more interesting than that to offer us? I'm also unsure of how a flat bread appetier takes over 30 minutes when the place wasn't busy.

So, the appetizer comes (altough I'm pretty sure the order wasn't put in until we inquired as to where it was) and our drink glasses are empty, we were not offered another drink! Then, she comes over with a Happy Hour menu - lo and behold, there are drinks and appetizers on there. We'd asked for that an hour before, but she acted as though we were asking for something out of the norm.

It was her time to clock out and she made that well known with a, "Can you pay? I"m leaving." Now, don't get me wrong - we would have paid her regardless, but I didn't need the attitude.

The drinks were good and the appetizers marginal. Would I go back - yes for dinner only and ensure I didn't have the server we had. Was I disappointed - absolutely.

Pros: Delicious Drinks, Great Happy Hour prices, Plenty of Parking

Cons: Service, Appetizer Size, and Value

.

We were seated at a small table but no reservations on a Friday it's expected. Appetizer: Room temp mozzerella wrapped in prosciutto was not too appealing, like trying to eat a stick of butter. My steak and mashed potatoes were excellent. My wife had a seafood pasta dish which also very good. Desert was a strawberry shortcake, cake was stale.

Pros: AMBIENCE

.

Arrived to a lobby as loud as a Sports Bar (Fine Dining???). My wife and I were seated to a 2-top in the middle of a room that wasn't much quieter (ambiance???) . I could almost reach the table next to us - his food looked good. Don't worry about etiquette of putting your elbows on the table - THEY'RE NOT BIG ENOUGH!! table that is. I went to the front desk and inquired about moving to a larger table. 6:15 p.m. Friday. We're fully booked with an attitude of take it or leave it is what the host told me - male bald individual so if he's working don't ask for any extra ... I chose to leave ... notified the attitude guy to cancel our stay ... replied with attitude sorry - I'm not as I'll never go back and you shouldn't either -- not if you're expecting fine dining with a quiet romantic atmosphere

This was literally the worst service I've had in years. First of all, you're located in BLAINE - you're not nearly as posh as you think you are. Secondly, our server was awkward, yet rude all at the same time. We had to practically beg to get some bread...our drinks took forever...and he was MIA for about 15 minutes, as we were looking around for him, ready to order. (Keep in mind - this was over lunch and there were maybe 2 other tables there at the same time as us....so no excuses!)
Once we finally did get our food, we didn't see the server for a good half hour. Then, he rang everything up wrong - putting all the wrong items on the wrong credit cards, after we very carefully explained it. And THEN he got annoyed with US when we told him it was wrong. To top it off, he hovered over us as we signed the CC slips, so we couldn't discuss who was tipping what and when we gave him a look saying "back off" he didn't get the hint. Hopefully he got the hint better when he saw his tip.

The food/drinks were WAY over priced-- just as this pace is WAY over rated. I know I'll never return.

Pros: Great Ambience. Great food. Close to home.

Cons: Construction creates delays and not good for eating outside right now.

Bella is the worst restaurant in the northern Minneapolis suburban area. Our party of seven sat on the patio overlooking the parking lot and the nearby bank, clinic and drycleaners. Our waiter was friendly, but constantly apologizing because she was "so busy." My food arrived--Capallini Primavera--the Capallini was a gelatinous glob with a small amount of brown, overcooked broccoli, rubbery zuccini, and blackened mushrooms. The food squeeked in my mouth when I chewed. Disgusting! After sending the plate back, and ordering and somewhat more pleasant looking Butternut Ravoli that my fellow party member was eating, I was told that I would have to pay the additional cost and wait 20-minutes. My other choice? Starve or eat the rubber, I suppose. The Ravoli eventually arrived swimming in olive oil and raw in the middle. I feared that sending this plate back would result in an additional charge and another wait. No accommodation was made for the trouble--and nary an apology was made. I say splurge for a trip South for anything better--or better yet, stay at home. This place is not worth it!
