Liked the food, but there were a couple of flies around our table. The ambiance was nice. I had the spring rolls they were pretty good in my opinion. The prices were a little spendy but it's a nice place for a weekend dinner, and there is lots of stuff to do in the area since it's in uptown.

I emailed this place three times, trying to get reservations
( I am in afghanistan and wanted to celebrate my welcome home party here) one of my emails was directly to the company and the other two were through Citysearch. I find it very odd that in the year 2009 this place doesnt check the inbox or respond to thier customers!! wow... I emailed "Max" rest. in downtown and 6 hrs later had a table and a wonderful message from the manager assuring it would be the "best table" they had for my special party.

Pros: wish I could have known...

Cons: Poor communication

Ratings_icons WORST SERVICE EVER!!!

jules89

We stood up front for way to long waiting to be seated. In the middle of talking to our server, he walked away to anser the phone. Other tables around us also seemed quite neglected! The first time I was there the food was great and the service was terrible. I decided to give them another chance, only to have the same outcome. Despite the delicous food, I will NOT be bringing my business back!

Pros: Food is awesome!

Cons: Service is terrible! Waitstaff is very rude and unmannerly!

Ratings_icons Best Happy Hour In Town For Food and Drinks

Foodieat

The happy hour from 4-6pm then 9-11pm everday and all day on tues. The apps are delicious for $3 best curry wings ever and good size and drinks are $3 taps and not crappy domestic beer either guiness and stella for $3 and rail drinks. Great looking place as well. me and my friends had our doubts about the place well it looks like a toy store from the sign, but after eating there it became our favorite spot.

Pros: Food Price And Quality

Cons: Parking

Not far from Lake Street, this place has a great Happy Hour. Only that its only available in the bar area which is a little small. Been back a couple times and plan to often.

Pros: $3 pints and appetizers

Cons: bar space is limited

A couple girlfriends and i went in on Friday night for happy hour at nine. It was 9:25 before we got our first glass of wine. They were not busy. We first stood by an open stool at the bar to order wine while we waited for a table. I had to flag the bartender down for a wine list and even after that he still didn't take our order. We were then seated at a table and waited over ten mins for a server, one didn't come until we went up to the host stand. Once the rude girl came over to take our order she didn't apologize or have any personality what so ever. And after all this we still didn't get the wine we ordered until I, once again, went up to the host stand to inquire...the host then ran our wine for us. Did i mention our table was located next to the host stand where it was obvious we weren't getting served?! I doubt i'd return.

Pros: the two apps we had were good

Cons: the service was horrendous!

My husband LOVES this place! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large! Thai food can be spicey but @ Amazing Thai you have control on how spicy ! Everything is fresh, great bar for happy hour, good for groups, lunch or casusal date. By Comedy Stage and of course SHOPPING! Definitely recommend you check out Amazing Thai

Pros: Portions are large

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Spicy Thai food with a great atmosphere!

hushasha40

I have been to this restaurant about five times now and rate it highly. It is a nicely decorated space and is not a loud place. Contemporary Thai music is often played over the sound system. The cocktails are excellent and there are drink and appetizer specials every day of the week. The portions are quite large in comparison with other local Thai restaurants. I really like the springrolls and the satay. The pad thai is good. The basil dishes are strong and delicious. Watch out: when asked your preference of spiciness, try a two and add more chili sauce if you have to. A friend and I chose "three" last time and it was hotter than both of us expected it to be. If I were to deduct any points from the experience, it can be that there may be a shortage of staff at times. However, the staff is always been friendly and respectful (big points for that, especially being in Uptown) and has always tried to serve the customers as efficiently as possible.

Pros: Ambience, politeness of staff, good spicy food, great appetizer and cocktail specials

Cons: Parking

Ratings_icons Amazing Thailand is truly AMAZING

FormerUptownGal

Every thing I have ever ordered there has been fantastic. They've got one of the best Happy Hours as well and I think the staff is very friendly and helpful with helping you select the right dish. I live in Shakopee and manage to make my way there about 1-2 times a month. I've always had good service!

Pros: Great food and service, excellent value at Happy Hour

Cons: Sometimes when you get there early for HH the bartender hasn't arrived and the servers have to cover the bar and sometimes they are occupied with their tables but, not usually a big deal.

Ratings_icons Great Thai Food, Lousy Service

Lamikem20

Amazing Thailand has some of the best thai food in the twin cities. However, this will be overlooked really quickly if you can't get by the horrible service. The hostess are very rude to say the least. They try and be polite after saying a smart a$$ remark, but that doesn't negate the fact their service is horrible. Once again the food is great, so if you can take being insulted while spending your money go for it :)

Pros: Food

Cons: Service

I took my friends out there one night hoping to try some good Thai foods, but we were very dissapointed. Everything we odered was too sweet!! We did not enjoy the dinner at all. I made a comment to the server and the respond was they made it sweet because that's how people here like it. And I am strongly disagree on that.

Ratings_icons Best PaThai Dish

Amazing Thailand is a remarkable place to eat out and enjoy new tasted Thai foods. My first time walk in there, the place looks so beautiful and I feel like I am in Thailand. When I see the bamboo trees and the picture flames on the wall, the restaurant looks amazing and it?s a nice atmosphere. By my surprised, the waiter greets us politely and takes us to our table. Furthermore, the foods are very tasty. My friend and I had Traditional PaThai, Sukiyaki Shrimps and the Seafood Salads. The dishes are hug. I do not expect they?re to be that much food (i.e. Shrimps). All dishes have great presentation. I feel hungry as soon as I see the dishes.

I love the Traditional PaThai dish. Every time I visit new Thai Restaurant, I always try the Traditional PaThai. Amazing Thailand has created one of my favorite dishes. In addition, I preferred the Seafood Salads with a little less fish sauce. I am strongly believed that Amazing Thailand has the best Thai foods that will fit everyone.

Ratings_icons The Best Thai Restaurant

JJMose

I was actually on Citysearch trying to find a good Thai place to go to, and figured might as well Amazing Thailand a try. As soon as my husband and I arrived, we were seated promptly. This place was awesome. We ordered shrimp and chicken spring rolls strongly recommend for an appetizer. Since neither of us has had Thai food we asked for recommendations. My husband who loves HOT, spicy and seafood they recommended no.71 Amazing Seafood and my husband would say the name for this entree fits! I?m not a spicy girl and because I?m trying to lose weight I opted for a salad. It truly was one of the best salads with shredded chicken, cucumber, tomatoes with this creamy salad dressing (they should put that dressing in a jar and sell it)! The bill was under $ 30 bucks. Not bad!! Staff was really nice and always checked on us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Great food, service, charming patio, great location, good for a group, and fun atmosphere. We?re trying not to go to the same place twice but we?re definitely going back.

Ratings_icons Overlooked but Wonderful!

CrackedPepper

The outside of this restaurant intrigued me and the inside did not disappointment. The restaurant is beautiful. The outdoor seating isn't on the sidewalk but in a decorated alley to the north of the restaurant. Nothing on the menu has disappointed me. One time I had a summer squash curry on special and was sad that it wasn't a regular feature because it was absolutely perfect. The drink specials are worth a visit alone. We typically go on Mondays and enjoy $5 martinis, mojitos, margaritas or mai tais. Monday is now something I look forward to!

Pros: Spring Rolls, Curry Puffs

Cons: Busy on weekends

Ratings_icons fantastic food, sometimes poor wait staff

elephantaigo

My family frequents Amazing Thai about once or twice a month. We come back for the amazing food and the beautiful setting. My three year old likes the umbrella room and although she's a picky eater, she eats up the coconut shrimp appetizer, veggie spring rolls, and some bamboo shoot stir fry (can't recall the name). My boyfriend and I have NEVER been disappointed by any of the food we have ever ordered there, and we have ordered almost everything on that menu since we've been there so many times. We have however been disappointed by the service on several occasions. The waitress once got my one order wrong three times! I had to keep sending it back to get her to fix it and it was for my toddler so one can imagine how time seems to tick slowly by when watching a hungry child waiting for her food. The hostess is always friendly though and I have had one waitress in particular who is fabulous, so you just have to get lucky and get the right waitress and perhaps request that person in the future. I think the fantastic food always makes up for the sometimes lousy service. Plus, no matter whether we've come on a weekday or Fri or Sat night, we have never had to wait for a table.

Pros: Yummy food, beautiful decor

Cons: Inconsistent service

Ratings_icons Amazing curry, great service

bon21mags

My friend & I ate here on Easter. Although not many people were there, the service was very good. Although I've eaten Thai before, I am in no way an expert, and the server was very good at suggesting foods and describing. I ordered the panang curry, it was sooooooo amazing. They gave me the choice of the chicken they normally serve with it, or just plain, cut-up chicken. -Order it the way they cook it - it's on the bone, yes, but it's somewhat stuffed with other things. I will definitely be going back, and recommending it to all my friends!

Ratings_icons Good papaya salad

auom

I've eaten here once and done take-out a few times. The food is average, not anything exceptionally special. My favorite thing to get on their menu is the Thai papaya salad. It's delicious. The ambience is wonderful, the way they've decorated this place is beautiful. The prices are pretty reasonable for the Uptown area. I would recommend this place for someone who's new to Thai food.

Pros: Wonderful ambience

Cons: Parking

Ratings_icons Great location and decor, food does not deliver.

mgs316

Not the worst Thai, but not in the top 10. I ordered the Holy Basil Beef with mixed veg. Flavor was decent, but not great. Beef was limited, had about 5 chunks of semi-tender meat, the rest was all green beans and green peppers, etc, for $15+ I'd expect a better quality of meat and quantity. We also got the (I think it was called) Radd Na with tofu and veg. Actually tasted decent but the presentation looked like school chow mein, kinda slopped on the plate. Very nice looking place and a good location. I might try it again and try another dish or two, but who knows. Hate to get another below average meal.

Pros: Probably a great place for happy hour.

Cons: Entrees did not deliver.

Ratings_icons Excellent Thai Food

spwuest

I went to Amazing Thai for lunch - we arrived at 11:30 and there was only one other customer there at the time so seating was not an issue. Our initial observation was that there was a lot of thought into setting up a beautiful atmosphere - it truly is is a peaceful atmosphere. We ordered their Pork Egg rolls first and both of us were very pleased with the taste and the texture - crispy but not oily and a perfect filling. We then ordered the Pad Thai and the Pad See Eui (can't remember how it is spelled). The Pad Thai was a little soupy for our taste, but still flavorful. The Pad See was a sure winner - I had ordered it medium spicy which was enough to give me a zing without burning my lips. I will definitely return and sincerely hope their customer count picks up.

Pros: Ambience, food

Cons: parking

Admittedly Amazing Thailand was our fourth choice of dining on a Friday night. After being turned away by other overcrowded favorites we decided to branch out and try the new kid on the block that occupies a spot that no other restaurant can seem to put down its roots in. The warm soothing air was the first to strike us when walking in form the cold windy street. The seating was prompt and comfortable and water and menus were quickly brought to the table. The menu is quite extensive and at first glance the choices can appear somewhat overwhelming. However our party of four soon decided on dinners ranging from egg rolls and won ton soup to green curry and butterflied shrimp. The food was much better than expected with flavors that continued to create interest in the food. Some curry can become boring half way through the plate- not the experience at Amazing Thailand. The service was friendly and expedient throughout the meal and the overall impression was very good. The only disappointment of the night was the menus themselves. The printing and pictures were what you would expect from a small, low budget family restaurant. I hope to see the menu match the wonderful decor in the future. We will absolutely return for another try!

Pros: Warm, comfortable decor. Prompt and friendly service

Cons: The menu needs to have a good print house refinement.

Amazing Thailand is a perfect restaurant it delivers amazing food every single time that I go.The bartender and wait staff are fabulous. The employees were extremely friendly and genuine.
I went to this place recently with several friends on friday 09/28/07. I went there before 7pm and found the place almost empty, but even after it got crowded(around 7.30) we were well looked after.Food was delicious and interesting. The appetizer was fantastic. The changing color of the lights at the bar was a bit weird, but a cool effect.. Definitely try this place out ,if you're in the twin cities.
But only problem that we had at that night was the big asian Bday party which are sat next to us.
They were very loud and very rude to the waitress. They made us lose our appitize. So we did ask our server what is going on. He told us that big Bday party made reservation for 35 people at 7.00 but showed up only 7 people and came in 35 mins late. As we were having our dinner ,seem like the Bday party getting bigger and louder (about 20 people). They were so demanding to server and so loud. So we asked the manager to take the noice problem for us.He was very kind and understanding, then he went to that party and took care of it. Thanks to him. They're getting better for the noise problem but still abusing waitress. We felt so sorry for her.SO we left extra tips for her. If you want to be pampered, you better be nice to them first.
I would highly recommend the place and the food really wasn't that expensive. They have the finest Pad thai I've ever eaten. Pleasant atmosphere, and good service. Definitely try this place out.

Ratings_icons NOTHING AMAZING AND NOT GOOD FOR GROUPS

tandc

I pity restaurants that claim they can follow through with catering to large groups but when time comes, everything crumbles to pieces. Last Fri I was in for a Bday party with about 20 poeple, it took 20 minutes until our server came over and asked for drink orders. I was stunned to find that our group had only one server plus she was handling another section of the restaurant. Anyhow, since the place was getting busy and we had all that time to read through the menu, we decided to just order. (There was also not enough menus, between 20 people we shared 4) The first item to come out was a combination platter, chicken satay was raw and calamari was undercooked. We immediately let the server know, I assume she did not know what to do because she grabbed the manager and he came over and asked what the problem was. He also asked if we wanted a new tray? You would think that he would have just taken it back, no questions asked. He also offered us drinks (we assumed it was to make up for the wait on a new platter) but then he went on to say that the drinks would not be free. My mouth dropped to the floor, I was speechless and immediately asked for the tab. I waited nearly an hour for the tab to get split up and to top it off, we were charged for the platter, which we did get a new one of but most places would "fix" the problem and comp it but not this place, whether you liked it or not, you were still paying for it. After I paid the tab, I let the manager know he was very rude and unprofessional and that our server was incapable of handling the large party. The manager never apologized or expressed any concern toward the service our group received that night. We will NEVER return to this place again and I will make sure people know of how poorly run this place is.

I went there on Friday night (August 17,2007). There was the most wonderful Thai food I had ever had for a long time. I lived in Thailand for 7 years before I came back to my hometown (Brainerd) 10 years ago. I couldn't describe how gorgeous the place is. I wish they stay open until midnight instead of 11pm.
The food was fantastic and fast. Service was great. I highly recommended if you have been waiting for authentic Thai cuisine. I definitely gonna come back with my family and friends.

Pros: gorgeous atmosphere, great food

Cons: should close at midnight instead of 11pm

Ratings_icons FINALLY A WELL MADE AND THOUGHT OF RESTAURANT IN THE TWIN CITIES!!

brontodelta

This new JEWEL in the twin cities is truly AMAZING! The menu is very informational for those of us that are a little shy in ordering other than PAD THAIS. The food is truly ethnic and beautifully presented. Huge portions and very tasty. The restaurant is so beautiful that we had to get up and walk around to see the museum like pieces that decorate the restaurant. We were told that the owner had an interior designer from Thailand fly in to assist with the decoration. The wood work is out of this world! Finally a winner combo of food and ambience. Ofcourse parking is a challenge. Maybe they should offer complimentary valet on Friday and Saturday evenings...
Great down to earth service too! Not that cocky attitude that most new restaurants in the twin cities have decided to adopt. (Specially when they play and replay the Buddah Lounge CDs...) Oh yeah the music was great too. Maybe because it was Pride Week, but we could have sworned we heard Cindy, Madonna and some ABBA...
Best of luck to Amazing Thailand Restaurant!! One more advice, dont turn the lights on right at 10pm when you are going to close. It was a bit rude....Other than that, GREAT JOB!!!!!!!

Pros: SO GOOD FOOD!!! & BEAUTIFUL TRUE AUTHENTIC ARTIFACTS

Cons: LIKE ALL RESTUARANTS IN UPTOWN... PARKING!!!
