I was truly impressed by my experience at Hour Eyes. I went in to fill a prescription for reading glasses for my elderly mother. I needed them the following day for her therapy appointment.

I was directed to the section for the reading frames choices and after choosing one asked what the timing would be to fill it. After they checked, I was first told that it would take 7 to 10 business days as they did not have that lens in stock. I asked if I could check with other locations and if I could purchase the frames at their store (since I had spent quite a bilt of time choosing them) and get the lenses at the store that might have them in stock. At first I was told if I did that I would lose the promotion price - $29 for the complete pair (based on the frames I had chosen).

Then, Keke who had been behind the customer service desk and had overheard my dilemma, first offered to write down the frame model for me and also 'translated' my opthalmologist given prescription to the optometrist calculations so that when I called other stores I would get the accurate response. She then offered to contact a store for me and asked which one would be convenient. She called 2 stores with no success and to my surprise asked if there were more she could call for me. I really needed these glasses - so I said actually I could get to any of them that day if I could get what I needed. She then called a total of 5 more stores, the last being the Tysons Corner store, where the lab technician (who she spoke with personally) offered to make the lenses for me, even though they don't usually do that when the lenses are something they usually have in stock. The Tysons location didn't have the frames I had chosen so Keke went to the computer, transferred them to that store and let me know that I could purchase everything there so that the price would stay the same. She contacted the manager at that store and let them know the situation and that I would be coming. She put the frames in a case - wrapped a piece of paper around them with the manager's name, gave me my prescription back along with the translation, wrote down the address and phone # and made sure I knew where it was located and sent me on my way. She only asked for my first name and didn't ask for any sort of payment or credit card # at all. She spent quite a while with me, never acting put out in any way - all for a pair of the lowest price glasses they sell that I wasn't even going to purchase at their location. I was very impressed.

I got to the Tysons location, asked for the manager that Keke had written down, she came out right away, said she had been expecting me and directed me to the lab tech that was going to make my lenses. He was very friendly and they let me know they would be ready within 1 1/2 hours after my arrival, which was great! I came back at the exact time - and everything was ready for me and perfect.

I need to get my own prescription filled soon and I will definitely be returning to Hour Eyes.
