I have had a Terrible Experience with the poor quailty of the repairs to my wedding ring, and it has been in the shop, around the corner at Jerods, as much as on my hand, with having to send it back over and over and over, due to poor workmanship. After so called repairs are done, I have a LOOSE 1 caret diamond, sharp as a knife prongs, crooked center setting, fibers caught in prong under diamond that noone in Shaws could dislodge, bent uneven prongs over and over, abrasions all over the white gold as if someone scraped it all over the street, and a broken baguette diamond. I am not that rough on my ring that it should be in the shop so much, but once it goes there with the Shaws, Robinson's and Jerod's trio, you are in a never ending, revolving door, of problems! When I first bought this setting, I initially asked them to put a platnum, I thinks it's called, head to hold my large top grade diamond from a previous setting, as it is a stronger substance than white gold, and was told they would when I bought the setting. They didn't. And didn't tell me they didn't. I learned that from another jeweler, J& W down the street. Then when the ring started having problems and I found this out, they still didn't want to change the head to secure my diamond. I was also told at one point that if the diamond was lost that they wouldn't replace it b/c I didn't buy it there . . . It was from Mervis Diamonds. This ring from Shaws has many other diamonds also, round and baguettes. The sales person WAS very anxious to sell me and make a lot of promises, that were full of holes and misinformation. I din't really blame the sales people though for the company not backing them up, or providing EXTREMELY POOR and SLOW REPAIR service at the only shop that does Any and all warranty repaires for Shaws, Robinson's and Jerod's. I will not be able to shop at Shaws or their affiliates any more because of Jerod's rediciously BAD work and this corporations shifty practices, and I am extremely PO'd at all I had to go through to get my weak and weaker prongs replaced finally, after haggeling for months with the store and corporate people, over the additional price to do so, while they still had my ring!!! Note, if you own a certified diamond with papers and mapping, always always check your diamond under the microscope or with a loop, to be sure it is still "your diamond" when you get it back from a shop. Always know the intricacies of your diamond, as they are ALL different. I'm scared to let them check my ring again, but if I don't go there every 6 months to have my ring checked they will cancel my warranty. Oh by the way, one baguette did crack in two, and fall out of my ring, which they replaced at no charge b/c of my warranty being valid, I think that took a month. When you drop your ring off and they say it will be back in a week or 10 days? Don't count on it!! The last time Shaw's -Jerod's had my ring for repairs, I got it back with very sharp prongs again, and finally took it to J&W Jewelers nearby, who rounded them off and polished them while I waited, and paid them out of my pocket. P.S. I have only had this ring maybe a couple of years at most. I'm seriously wondering, is this company using inferior product to make their jewelry? Did they buy the gold at a pawn auction and melt it down to make their "new" pieces to sell? Why and how is their stuff soo very inadequate?

JB Robinson, Shaws, Jared & JB Robinson are in one umbrella one company. I was misleaded by sale pregnant lady abour 4 foot tall pregnant at JB Robinson St. Charles Waldorf, Maryland saying that the ring I bought is flawless and I found out it's not after having an appraisal from the outside private comp. I was fooled by this sale pregnant lady 06-22-10. This sale pregnant lady can talk very pushy and manipulative pls. beware. Talk to the store manager in stead this sale pregnant lady all she care is the commission. I ask for another sale lady this sale pregnant lady said she is off and she will get the half of the commission but she took the sale just for herself. Bad company employee do not care about giving customer a customer service. Please before you buy from that store do some research otherwise you will be fooled.

I have a citrine and diamond ring that has spent more time in the repair center than on my hand. Every time it comes back, it has more problems than it went in there with. I just picked it up on 3/20/09; it needed the shank reinforced (because they shaved it while sizing it down), and the stone was not straight in the setting (from when the tightened the prongs). I need to take it back tomorrow 3/23/09 because the stone is loose in all directions in the setting.

I won't be buying from them again. They refuse to replace the ring as long as they're able to put it in repair.

Pros: They're more than willing to sell you something

Cons: The repair service is incapable of doing a good job.
