they have really good decorations for christmas time. its a beautiful garden. but the only problem is that you have to walk to see the decorations.thats not really how one would like it because its quite cold. so make sure you get enough coverings on you. kids would have fun here. eventhough it is cold and chilly, the decorations are worth seeing. it is a nice piece of work.

PROS: You have to Walk
CONS: Great Decorations

It is a 50-acre public display garden inside the Wheaton Regional Park. This place is great no matter what season. During the summer/spring its beautiful and during the winter they have a great display of lights. Ofcourse you are walking in the cold and its not a indoors thing or drive-through. But its worth it. They also rent it out for weddings or private ceremonies.

PROS: available for rent, ample parking, no admission
CONS: outdoor lights display where you walk yourself in the cold

I like to go to this place when I need a little while to think and be by myself. The gardens aren't particularly spectacular--they make for some good pictures, but the atmosphere overall is very peaceful. There is a big lake in the middle of the place as well as a japanese tea house, several nature trails and easy access to near-by parks. They also have some good seasonal treats, like a big light show during the winter when all of the gardens are decorated with colored lights. It is a winter wonderland to go through. They also have a cool butterfly show in the summer, with all sorts of species that just fly around the greenhouse. It is a pretty good place to take kids because there is a lot to see and if you're kids aren't impressed by the gardens there are stables, a giant park and a nature center within walking distance.
