The first time we went to Saphron's for a special occasion, they had lost our reservation but were able to seat us anyway.

The second time we went there (in January), the room was very chilly and I had to wear my coat during the meal. They were out of our first two entree choices and did not have the dessert we desired (though it was on the menu and the waiter did not tell us prior that they did not have it.) Our calamari appetizer was very bland (needed some seasoning/salt) and was a bit greasy. We were served cold, stale bread with our meal. We had to ask TWICE to have our water glasses refilled, with long absences before the waiter appeared, during which time we had nothing to drink. When we asked for a wine list, we were told that many of the items on the wine list were no longer available. When my husband ordered a glass of wine, it didn't come until after he asked the waiter where it was, and then he had to wait a long time to receive it (toward the end of our meal - he almost sent it back.)

I ordered sea bass, with no vegetable accompaniments listed for it. The menu stated, "If no vegetables are listed with an entree, seasoned vegetables and mashed potatoes are served", but I was served collards and red rice which I did not want. The owner came by and I pointed this out to her. To her credit, she apologized and brought me some vegetables but no potatoes. I enjoyed the sea bass which was delicious but had a lot of bones to contend with. My husband ordered the steak, which was small and not very good quality.

The service was poor, the food was disappointing, and the room was uncomfortably chilly, which all led to a disappointing experience. On the way home, we both agreed that we probably would not go back.

Seems like all these reviews are fake besides the bad ones, bashing other restaurants, saying you've dined everywhere but only have one review in your profile. Something seems off about this, not to mention I've heard a cook there sells drugs out of the back of the place.

I was pleasently surprised to hear there was a fine dining establishment in Prince Frederick. My family told me not yo be discouraged about the meal when I was given a bed of free s with dressing...nothing else. We continued to wait for 45 minutes for appetizers (when they should be served before salad) and asked for bread and received a plate of toasted dry bread that was stale and we were charged $2.50. An hour later we finally were served our apps which were ok. Crab dip was mainly cream cheese and barely warm served with the lovely dry bread. My husband ordered the
shrimp scampi which would be hard to mess up. I ordered the crab cakes if you could call them that. They tasted frozen. All filler no meat. My father got Lamb chops that were ordered Med rare and came out Med well. And last but not least, the waitress, couldn't pronounce the food or wine and could not open bottle. If they have a chef I would be shocked, my thoughts, line cooks from maybe a successful restaurant with no guidance. And garnish on food was dated. So was the taste.

My wife and I met my college daughter there for dinner Friday night. Great crab dip and mussels for appetizers. They brought warm bread before the food came. My wife had shrimp and grits, loved it. I had a house salad (nothing special) and filet mignon, which was great. My daughter had shrimp scampi and it was good, but nothing special.

Had dinner there on Sat. night. in the new location. A mediocre meal at a high dollar price, $140 for two including tip.
Service was unpolished: Extra place settings not removed, no salt & pepper,no sugar. Meal was just what you would expect in a chain restaurant. Not bad, but not what you expect for $25pp, plus add. $8 or 9 for a regular salad. Had to ask for bread/rolls.The bread was garlic bread. It had been toasted, but was cold and hard. Bread pudding was great! $10 for an average sized serving. We really miss the Old Field Inn, formerly in this location. After this disappointment, we will miss it even more. Don't mind spending $ on a good meal, but this is not it! Can't imagine where the other reviewers ate their meal?

Finally!!! Fine Dining in Prince Frederick! Excellent meal, great service, great atmosphere. The owners and waitress made us feel very welcome. Reasonably priced with reasonable portions (not too big and not too small). Good sized wine portions! A++++!!! Great experience!!!

Had dinner at Saffron this week. The food was excellent, the wine generous, and the ambiance wonderful. Service could not be better. We spend summers in Prince Frederick and the lack of a quality dining experience was very frustrating. I rate this restaurant as gourmet and moderately priced.

To experience the finest in world-class dining, you must dine at Saphron! The food is absolutely delicious! Large portions and very reasonably priced. Not what you would expect for a restaurant in Prince Frederick - Saphron could easily be placed in Washington, New York, San Fransisco, or any other world-class city. The ambiance is very nice, and the service impeccable. An extensive and unique menu, paired nicely with fine wines and home-made desserts. I will return often and make Saphron one of my favorite places!
