My family has found The Goddard School in Gaithersburg to be a phenomenal school, so I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. The quality of care has been superb, and the school has such a warm, welcoming environment where our daughter, Nadia, has been thriving. I see a lot of happiness, laughter, and learning in the classrooms. Mr. and Mrs. Worley are very dedicated to the school. Nadia's teachers have all been fabulous--very nurturing to her, and she has grown quite attached to them. All the staff seems to know Nadia's name. She always comes home with reports of the things she has done throughout the day, and loves talking about them. She has brought home interesting art projects, from traditional paintings to gingerbread houses. I love how Goddard has special visitors and events, like pony rides. I also really appreciate how they incorporate yoga, Spanish, and gym into the school day. I would happily recommend Goddard to anyone looking for a loving place for their children.

We have nothing but good things to say about the Goddard School. We enrolled our son in Pre-K and now he is in kindergarten - in both classes his teachers have been excellent. They have demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication to the children. Our son could not have gotten better teachers. While at Goddard our son's reading, writing, and mathematics skills have improved significantly. Our son is now reading at a high level compared to his age and has also progressed socially. Finally the owners (Mr and Mrs Worley) are excellent as well as the support staff. They are very helpful when we have questions and demonstrate the same committment to the children. In conclusion we are very pleased with the Goddard School. We can only hope our son will continue to receive such high quality care and education when he enters the public school system.

My husband, Ed, and I can not praise the Goddard School in Gaithersburg enough for their wonderful care of our daughter. Our daughter was in the infant "Lady bug" classroom from the age of 12 weeks. As our first born, we were nervous about the transition going back to work, but we were immediately assured about our daughter's care when we met the staff. Jim and Jill, the owners, are extremely welcoming and friendly, as is everyone from the administrative staff to the teachers. The entire staff knew our daughter by name the first week we brought her to school. We found that the warm, loving, and stimulating environment was perfect for our daughter's development. Her teachers, Ms. Bringas and Ms. Bahal, were so loving and nurturing. It brought us such joy to see our daughter smiling and cuddling with them - we knew she was in such great care every day! We would recommend the school to anyone looking for a great start for their child.

Last fall my 3 year old twins began attending The Goddard School in Gaithersburg. Unsure of how they would adjust to their first-ever school experience and separation from mom and dad, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted at how little time it took for both of them to LOVE it at Goddard. The owners, staff, and teachers took such an interest in getting to know my children and in making them feel comfortable with their first school experience. They made all the difference for my children in their adjustment to school.

The school has such a warm and nurturing environment that is felt from the moment you walk into the school. The staff smiles and greets you and the kids every time you walk through the door. The environment is bright, clean, and inviting. The school also does a great deal to ensure safety for the children which gives me, as a parent, such peace of mind and reassurance that they are safe and well cared for. My children love school and are thriving. I know that this wonderful early experience in school has sparked a love of learning in them and will impact them in many positive ways as they continue their education, thanks to everyone at Goddard.

In addition, the owners and administrators have been consistently responsive to our familys' needs and have truly gone above and beyond for the benefit of our children. Over and over again, I am reminded of why I chose this school for my children!

We are Mark and Shannon Smith. The Goddard School in Gaithersburg, MD, owners, and staff are the best we have ever had experience with. When the school first opened we enrolled our oldest son and were amazed at his transformation. He was excited to go to school on a daily basis and the teachers, and owners made it a great place to learn. We loved his Kindergarten teacher Ms. Kim because she really took an interest into getting to know each and every one of her students. In addition, she was always open to feedback or questions we had about the development of our son. As for the owners (Jim and Jill Worley) - you will not find two more passionate people on making sure they "get it right". If I ever had any questions they were always available and courteous. We were so pleased with our oldest son's progression that we also enrolled our other two sons into the Goddard School in Gaithersburg when they were old enough to attend. Unfortunately, I had to relocate due to a promotion, but my kids still ask about Mr. Worley, Ms. Kim, and others from their staff. I wish I could have relocated the school with us when we moved. Great School, Great Environment, and Even Better Owners and Staff.

BEST SCHOOL WE'VE EVER SEEN! Our son is graduating from the Kindergarten program at The Goddard School in Gaithersburg at the end of this summer. He will be going to 1st grade next year. At his graduation ceremony, I told the school's owner, Jim Worley, just how very pleased we've been with the school and I told him we'd like to write a referral for the school. Rather than doing a "paper referral" Mr. Worley suggested that I post my referral online. I've never done an online review before and it will be hard to write everything I want to say. Quite simply, we were at two other places prior to Goddard deserately looking for a quality environment for our child that would give us peace of mind. You just won't believe the difference Goddard makes. The place is spotless. The teachers are highly qualified (degreed teachers), caring professionals. The academic programs are fun and creative. My son entered the school as a shy child who was very attached to mom/dad but is graduating as a confident "young man" who makes friends easily, who is very polite and respectful, and whose learning potential was clearly met. His math and reading scores are at least a year ahead of his chronological age and I'm very, very comfortable that he's going to do GREAT when he enters 1st grade in the public schools. The owners, the administrators, the teachers, EVERYONE there are approachable and "go the extra mile" to help you with anything you need. I wholeheartedly recommend THIS SCHOOL to anyone looking for a great education for their child.

I realize this post is a year old, but in case anyone is researching, please know that Goddard in Gaithersburg is one of the best. The educational component starts at as early an age as you'd like, and the care is second to none.

We held off moving my daughter from an in-home daycare to a school until she was 3 1/2, wanting to keep her in a home environment for as long as possible. For as much as I loved the family that cared for her, we should have moved her sooner. She wasn't being stretched enough by that age. She clearly had excess capacity at the end of the day, which was manifesting itself in behaviors that puzzled us. She was also shy in large, boisterous groups and we feared that she would never be comfortable going into unknown environments.

Goddard changed all of that and put her squarely ahead of many of her peers. Goddard has an excellent program, but Jim and Jill Worley, the owners, are exacting in their standards. Their school has the highest quality ratings in the entire franchise system. They're well ahead of the program. Their hires are equally dedicated to the kids, or they don't last. We've become very connected to the teachers, developing relationships that go beyond her classroom years. They are, simply, amazing.

Not only have we been woven into her Goddard experience, but my daughter has transformed into a confident, smart, fearless little girl, who at the end of the Goddard pre-kindergarten year tests well into the first grade. Although she's repeating kindergarten in elementary school (missed the cutoff date), we're working with the first-grade summer homework.

I can't say enough about the Worleys and the staff. The kids literally skip and run to get to class in the morning - every morning. Every evening is a struggle to get them to leave. They see Mr. Worley or Ms. Braden (Assistant Director) or Ms. Kramer (Director), and they tear away from you to run and give them a hug. The administators know every child by name and know personal things about them (and you!) - an amazing thing for a school with hundreds of children they don't spend regular time with. It's an amazing place with amazing people.

The Goddard School in Gaithersburg is an excellent pre-school and kindergarten. My daughter has been there for over three years and she loves it. They have an excellent curriculum of reading, writing, math, science, music, creative arts, and even activities such as sign language and yoga. She loves it there. And all the people are wonderful, especially the teachers, directors and owners.

My name is Steven Bass and I am the proud parent of a child who has attended The Goddard School in Gaithersburg for nearly the 3 years they have been open. She will graduate this summer, well prepared to begin kindergarten in the public school system. I am writing this review to set the record straight, as I believe my identity was falsely assumed and misrepresented in other reviews that may be floating around on these pages and to share my positive experience with this school.

Our 3 year enrollment should be testament enough, but I will elaborate on our experience and share it with you. Everyday at the Goddard School in Gaithersburg starts with you entering through the double door biometric security scan using your thumb print. Office personnel are always present to greet you with a smile and assist with anything you might need, while at the same time they are screening for anyone who they do not know. This type of security paired with the security fences around the playgrounds give a nice peace of mind that our children are safe.

Once in the classrooms you quickly find that every room has everything and anything that the children need - computers, art supplies, games, books, and dramatic play clothes. In most cases, these items are new or at worst very well maintained. The children are provided everything they need to learn and grow. In addition, one of the things we have enjoyed most are the additional curriculum subjects for the children including: music, sign language, and yoga. My daughter loves these items and I love her excitement when she shows me what she's learned. The staff are all great and we had a positive experience with nearly every single one of them.

A lot is stated about the cost of the Goddard School and I think its important to compare apples to apples when doing this. You can take your child to a daycare center for less money per month. I chose to take her to a school with top notch facilities, that is always clean and well maintained, and that provides everything that the children need. You get what you pay for and compared to other schools, Goddard is right in line with the price comparisons I conducted. The school does lack service of hot meals for lunch, however, since my child is a very picky eater - this was not a big deal for me since I would have packed her lunch 80% of the time anyway. I stop by the school and eat lunch with my daughter approximately 1x per week, so I know the school runs the same during the work day, as it does during the morning drop off and afternoon pick ups. For me, this is good peace of mind.

While my review is overall very positive, you should not be led to believe the experience was perfect. In fact, over the 3 years, I had several concerns that I raised. Both Jim and Jill Worley are present at the school daily and while they are busy and tending to the day-to-day, they are never too busy to stop and discuss a concern with you or schedule a time to meet. Any and all issues which I raised with Jim, Jill, or Heather Kramer (director) were always taken seriously and addressed appropriately. I have been consistently pleased with their responses to my issues.

As I stated previously, I am very proud to say that as my daughter enters the public school kindergarten system this Fall. She is already reading at a Level 8 (only level 5 is required to graduate from Kindergarten) and has nearly 99% mastery of all the kindergarten AND first grade sight words required to build her reading skills. This is proof enough to me of the quality of education that my daughter received on a daily basis and that the money I spent was well worth it!

I have been consistently pleased with their responses to my issues.

              .

My child has been in the school for close to 2 years (since it opened). It is a WONDERFUL facility. I read the 3 previous reviews all posted the exact same day (5/7/09) and it doesn't even remotely sound like the same school my daughter attends. Here is what my experience has been. (1) This is VERY clearly a private preschool. This school has a GREAT curriculum, degreed teachers, a full time Director of Education who has a Masters degree in Education and two assistant directors who are also degreed and very capable people. My daughter is in the Pre-K program now and is reading at the 1st grade level. Truly, truly EXCELLENT academic environment. (2) The school looks and feels like elementary school. My child is sooo ready for Kindergarten that I have absolutely NO concern about how she is going to perform. That is the purpose of preschool.....to get ready for elementary school and Goddard did that for us! (3) The school is spotless. It is beautiful. The floors gleam, bathrooms are clean, etc.. Yes, at the end of the day there may be paint on the floor from an art project....but this is a school where things are done in a "hands on" manner....it is what they told me when I enrolled....learning through structure play projects. But, EVERY DAY when I come into the school, the place is spotless again. (4) The owners are really nice, caring people. I toured lots of places before choosing Goddard. All the places promised lots of things. I can honestly tell you that this school delivered on EVERYTHING they promised.....AND MORE. I never expected my daughter to be operating at this advanced an academic level at this time. Simply THRILLED!
