Great place - I've been using this shop for many years and have had half a dozen pairs of shoes resoled, shined, waterproofed. Good work at a reasonable price. The owner is willing to resole Chaco sandals - and the work holds up well so

i was looking to dye my white dress shoes. he gave me a vast array of colors to choose from and i decided on a fuschia. when i came back, i was shocked. it looked like a 4 year old had used watercolors on my shoes. the color was a dirty lavender, extremely uneven, and the bottom of the shoe was stained. he said it'd never happened to him before and doesn't know what went wrong and i said i understood...he offered to try putting another coat on and that he would call me.

he never called. i had to call to check and when i came, it still looked awful. i didn't know what to do, so i took my shoes and came back months later and decided on grey, and if not, black. he appeared to not want to have anything to do with the job, thinking it wouldn't work, and told me to do it myself. that's right, he said, oh it's simple, just do it yourself. um....ok. i told him he was the professional and that he'd better do it since he basically left me with an unusable shoe. he finally agreed and said he would call.

he never called. i came back a few weeks later and he showed me it wasn't working and so i just said black. i told him that he had to call me this time.

he finally called! the black came out fine, but then he had the nerve to charge me full price $19.95. i said he had to be kidding...i made 4 visits to him during the entire ordeal, he rarely called me back, he tried to brush me off the 2nd time i visited, and, ultimately, what i got was not what i originally wanted. he refused, saying he spent $10 on supplies and that he spent all this time on it, so that he had to charge at least $15. i said i should only pay for supplies since my time was also wasted for constantly making trips to his shop, but he refused. he even said that if i wasn't going to pay, he would take my shoes and sell them for $20. when i told him this is not how to conduct business, he said, to my astonishment, that yes, he was an awful person, so su him.

i can't believe my experience here.
