This place is very clean and well kept, the people are friendly, the therapists are great, and the food is good. That said, although the employees mean well, the service is attrocious. Everything is so disorganized, and patients frequently wait an hour or more for basic help with things like taking showers or going to bed. They are understaffed, and communication between workers is shaky to say the least -- they even have trouble keeping track of what medications a patient should be taking. Recently my grandfather was diagnosed with a serious staph infection -- he had it for four or five days before they thought to test for a problem, despite obvious symptoms. Then, rather than start him on the necessary medication right away after it was approved by the doctor, massive confusion and miscommunication occurred and it was almost a full day later before he received treatment (to boot, they woke him up in the middle of the night to administer the IV). It should be noted that someone from our family is there every day to go out and try to get help when it doesn't come -- I can't imagine what the poor people without any relatives do. To be fair, I hear that the service in these places is uniformly awful, and to that end this may unfortunately be as good as it gets. If you need to put someone in here, make sure you visit frequently. The staff members are nice people, but nice or not people this unorganized shouldn't be trusted blindly with the lives and well being of your loved ones.
