My husband and I have stayed at the Hotel Laguna and found it to be very pleasant. The rooms are adequate and quaint, but the part we enjoyed the most was the restaurant inside the hotel. The food is excellent and being right on the water is a great experience. I have friends who live in the area and we have gone there for lunch. It gets a bit busy in the summer, but if you can get there before noon you can usually beat the crowds. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others -- especially visitors from out of the area.

Fabulous Laguna at it's best. Great menu...wonderful, wonderful, can't be beat views, delicious food, yummy iced tea and incredible desserts. Go and splurge on everything at The Terrace.

They informed me when I was there that they were changing out the menu this week but they had a salmon dish that I would recommend. The view is amazing and the prices are not too bad but in the $20-$30 range.

My husband and I dined here at the Terrace Cafe one Sat. night with another couple. We were looking for somewhere to watch the sunset and grab an appetizer. We all enjoyed the views so much, we felt like we were on vacation in Hawaii. The appetizers were good, like the clam chowder. It's overpriced, but growing up in a beach city I knew it would be. It's around 15 bucks for a hamburger, but the views make it all worth the price of the food. I read the other reviews about the wait staff and was surprised since our server was awesome and so attentive to us. We will go back here for sure!

This is the place to go if you want to relax with a 180 degree view of the ocean and have a great cocktail and appetizer or full menu item. The scenery is incredible. The food is good and the drinks are great. Prices are reasonable for Lagina too. I've been back many many times.

This lovely cafe overlooks the beach, like almost every great restaurant in Laguna! The service is great and the daily chef's specials menu always offers something wonderful. Prices are reasonable.

My sweet husband and I were there for the Grand Opening of the NEW MENU, which translates to MORE EXPENSIVE MENU FOR LESS CHOICES and LOUSY SERVICE and vapid waitresses.
When we arrived at the Terrace, the host told us that the serving staff was in a meeting to discuss the new menu and he offered us some hot coffee and some iced water, which we graciously accepted as we settled in to wait.
A half hour later, a waitress came by and gave the lady who was just seated a menu, but didn't even offer us anything!!!
I was most indignant and asked her, "May we have a menu too?"
She acted like she was shocked or something......and said, "Oh...I thought you were just here for the coffee!"
I tried to hide my disdain of what must be an all-time low IQ for a waitress.
She did bring some menus over and then we were treated in a more dignified fashion.

I got the Chinese Chicken Salad for some major $$$, ( I think it was around 20 dollars), and my hubby got a sixteen dollar turkey club sandwich; both were heavenly and divine, but what was really incredible is that there was an entire school of wonderful dolphins that swam close to the shoreline. We had the best beachside table with scattered shade and sun, as we watched their entire pod swim for about an hour and a half! There were some human swimmers out there who chased the dolphins by swimming strong, way out past the boyees to the rocks, but they could never catch up with those dolphins of the sea.

I guess I would recommend the Terrace Cafe to all persons visiting Laguna Beach, but only if you are full of patience and willing to settle for a limited menu.
It's still great to be sitting there though................I would recommend the place only for special occasions.

Pros: Ocean front - open air. Very beautiful location!

Cons: Expensive, with shockingly poor service.

We had five different people come to our table, so we were utterly confused as to who our server actually was. Never got our appetizers, had to wait extra long for drinks. Gave our drink re-order three times to three different people, and still didn't get anything. Food came to our table bland and cold. Don't eat here, total waste of an evening.

Pros: By the beach
