Sinbad's has been a San Francisco landmark for more than 28 years and is one of the city's famous waterfront view restaurants. Perched on the bay next to the historic Ferry Building, conveniently located at the foot of Market Street and the Embarcadero, Sinbad's has some of the most enchanting views of the Bay. Sinbad's in open 7 days a week serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. There is a full bar serving up great cocktails, a full wine list, big screen TV's for any sporting event and they can accomodate up to 250 guests for any private event. The food is your classic seafood with such dishes as Fish & Chips, Bay Shrimp & Dungeness Crab Cocktails and Clam Chowder. Adding to the ambiance you will always find pressed white table cloths, fresh cut flowers and friendly service that make you feel as though you are in the company of family. Come by soon, you will not be disappoint

In Short
Snuggled next to the sleek Ferry Plaza, this decidedly old-school San Francisco institution has been entertaining locals and tourists alike for almost three decades. Cozy up in a blue leather booth and take in the view while waiting for classic fare like a crab cake appetizer, salmon Florentine or fresh clam linguine. Or skip the surf and go straight for the turf: filet mignon. Fresh salads and rich desserts round out the menu.

Key Points

  • Come Dine on Our Deck
  • Family Owned, Friendly Service
  • Great Drinks at the Bar

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - Vegetarians beware: Seafood is the star here, and non-meat or fish options are few.
  2. When to Go - Bring out-of-town guests to savor the view over weekend brunch, or book a special occasion--the private banquet room has space for 20-200 people.
  3. Parking - The restaurant is actually located on Pier 2, right where Mission Street hits the Embarcadero, and there's valet as well as metered street parking.

My Favorite Restaurant in SF

by eclipse_81

I have been in Sinbad's Restaurant on many occasions. They have one of the best veiws in town. Their food is great no matter what you order, just point your finger at a random item in the menu. They also have the best service. Their waiters do not bother you every minute and do not stick the check before you are done eating.

Avoid Brunch at all costs!

by kellylm99

My friend and I went to Sinbad's on Thanksgiving day for brunch because nothing else was open. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. The first plate has the eggs cooked all the way through, so I sent it back. When they brought out a new plate, the english muffins were soaking in oil or butter. It was disgusting. I sent the english muffins back and they brought out another two still soaking in oil. When I got the bill, they had not taken off the eggs benedict. I couldn't believe it. I asked the manager of the restaurant to take it off the bill and he said "well, did you eat any of it". I couldn't believe it. He ended up only taking off a portion because I actually ate the egg. I will never go back and I strongly suggest you avoid this restaurant as well!

Do not be misled!!

by foodwatcher

My husband and I should have got up and left after seeing so many dissatisfied looking customers hurrying out. It was a horrible eating experience for folks appreciate fine cuisine! The menu is misrepresenting. The "fried clams" are merely BREADED CLAM STRIPS! at $8.50 for the appetizer. The entree comes with day old looking wilted slivered zuchini and carrots, but plenty of tartar sauce! Expect to pay a large amount of money and be impolitely ripped off for it! You work hard for your money, spend it somewhere you'll get what you paid for.

Fantastic

by jazzybelle02

Sinbads is our favorite restaurant. teh view is the best in all San Francisco looking at Treasure Island and teh Bay Bridge while being perched on the water. last Time and my wife ate there we saw two liners pass by our table. The food is always good and fresh while being reasonable. Can't wait to go back.
