I have had my daughter in Dot Tot since May 2012. I found Dot Tot at a time that I desperately needed care and I was lucky enough to secure enrollment right away. I was a first time Mommy who was VERY nervous about leaving my 9 month old

I enrolled my 4 month old daughter 3 weeks ago and she has adapted very well already! She smiles really big for her caregivers and they are a very loving group of people. Ms Debbie is amazing and obviously knows how to read baby body

My daughter loves DOT Tot. We started at DOT Tot when she was 8 months old. She now calls the teachers names as we get close to the center on most days.

I am fortunate enough to have her with me as I am also an employee of DOT Tot. Being close to her has given me peace of mind. I can get to her quickly when she is ill or hurt. I would not consider placing her anywhere else.

Pros: Consistant Caregiver

Cons: Play ground

I had to laugh as I read the review ??don??t judge a book by its cover?? describing DOT Tot. How true! When I worked in the building across the street from DOT Tot years ago, I always told myself, if I ever have kids they won??t be going there?Well, here I am years later writing to share how excellent DOT Tot really is. It??s a non-profit coop, with very caring staff and low turnover, so there is quality consistency in who will be caring for your child during their time at DOT Tot. Low teacher/child ratios. Diapers and wipes are included in tuition, as well as healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks for the tots. Easy street parking for quick drop off/pickups. Also available for 2+ year olds are weekly gymnastics classes for $38 per month. My son absolutely loves it.

The phrase, "Don't judge a book by it's cover" applies here. Dot Tot is not the newest or fanciest daycare in town. When you drive up to Dot Tot the exterior of the place certainly won't knock your socks off.
What should, and will impress you is the number of highly experienced staff on the inside and the quality of care your child will experience. Many of the staff have been there for years and it is obvious that they understand children and love what they do.
Unfortunately, my kids are no longer there because a new job took us out of state. However, after experiencing a few of the "fancy" places I realize how much we miss the love and attention our kids experienced at Dot Tot.
I would highly recommend that you check out Dot Tot if you're looking for your first daycare or a new place for your child. I've learned over the years that no place is absolutely perfect, almost every class has biter, and your child's experience is only as good as the person(s) providing it.

Pros: EXPERIENCED daycare providers who love what they do

Cons: Older building...(see first line in comments section)

My child loves coming here each day. Staff is warm and friendly. Low staff turnover means my child knows who is providing care and they know the kids' personalities.

Our experience may be unique, but I doubt it. Our twin infant daughters (19 months old when we believed we had to remove them) were bitten by a little boy. Same child bit each girl once. We went through the process and thought it was taken care of, ie that the child would be kept away from our girls. (our kids were not all that mobile) But he liked our girls and proceeded to bite one of them again. Even a dog only gets one bite. We removed our girls from DOT TOT that week, but guess what. We still had to pay 30 days times two (over $1100.00) because the contract does not give you the parent an out even if you leave for the safety of your child. Otherwise we loved the place. I hope ours was a unique experience. Our pediatrician used to say that our girls were so sweet you could put them on bread and not need jam. Our son bit me once and I flicked his cheek with my finger and he never bit anyone again. We still feel it was a problem DOT TOT and the other parent should have fixed.

Pros: It is a loving environment

Cons: except you pay even if unsafe

.

I am pleased to have found such a loving environment for my son that is also close to my work. And I like that I have a vote in some of the decisions involving the center.

DOT Tot Child Care Center is a non-profit, parent run, child care center that has been open for over 25 years.
