Absolutely best tri-tip sandwiches! But we have not been in past year because I can't stand the LOUD loud-speaker and the low-budget behavior of the place. The place is so busy & congested that people start hanging close to your table staking their claim on it if you are almost finished so they can have a place to sit & eat. The busboy service can barely keep up with cleaning tabletops. And the counter workers are always yelling so they can be heard! The outdoor expansion is okay and isn't as noisy as the inside area but, it is still congested. Go here if you want to eat in hectic, noisy, touristy, studenty, not real clean place! We do carry-out if we have to have a great tri-tip fix!

I didn't go to Cal Poly, but every time I visited friends who went here, I demanded to be taken to this place. They have the best BBQ, burgers, and their fries are TO DIE FOR. This is a must try in SLO.

Everytime I come to San Luis Obispo I come here to eat. I love the atmosphere and even though it's busy the food is made quickly and the fries are a must. The food is filling and I have yet to try something I don't like. If it's your first time - try the tri-tip sandwich. It's basically bbq sauce, steak and bread, but it's delicious.

This restaurant is probably one of the busiest places in san luis obispo! i would definitely recommend getting the tri tip sandwich with extra bbq sauce on the side. You can never go wrong on the cajun fries also. Be sure to make all your requests at the cashiers because its so busy that if you ask when you get your food, youll probably get yelled out by a moody worker.

When you are hungry and it's late and you are too tired to whip up dinner, try Firestone Grill. They have great burgers, bbq chicken, tri-tip, salads and even chicken tacos. There is something for everyone. Great food at affordable prices.

The best Tri-Tip sandwich I have had and many will agree! This place can get very busy with lines out the door (well at least you know it is good food). Lively atmosphere with a lot of action, not quiet at all, being it is a sports bar!!

The burgers are great also!! Try this food out, you will not be sad!

I've been going to school at Cal Poly for a few months now and Firestone is at the top of my list--and everyone elses'. It has indoor/outdoor seating and a bar. There are a few plasma T.V. screens and two projectors where sports are broadcast throughout the day. If a good game is on, good luck finding a seat inside. Lines are usually long but the wait is relatively quite short. I recommend the tri-tip and a side of fries; It's the best meal a college student will ever have.

If you ever visit SLO you will eat at Firestone's. It's pretty much as simple as that. Drive by during peak lunch or dinner hours and check out the line that streches out the door almost across the block. If you go at off peak hours there's usually no line and no problems finding a table, although they did just remodel the inside and have added quite a bit of seating. When I first started going to school here the Tri-Tip sando was like $4.50 and you got more meat than you do now (it's over $7!). My favorites are the chicken sandwich (add avocado!) and the pig sandwich. Classics that never really seem to go up in price when everything else does.
