We were in the mood for Persian and, well, options are somewhat limited in the area. Having been on this street for the local bowling alley I was somewhat surprised to find a Persian restaurant tucked away in a random stripmall. However, appearances can be deceiving and the interior was lovely. There were no other patrons and the waitress was very attentive, refilling our drinks often and making helpful suggestions for each course. I had a lamb kebab and a shrimp kebab and they were both excellent. Others ordered chicken and they tasted pretty good as well. The Persian tea and ice cream were highlights, with the tea made from seasoned rosewater and the ice cream made with saffron which was really good. Our experience was positive and other people eventually came in to eat on a Sunday night, which was encouraging as the location is so out-of-the way I can't imagine it ever being busy. But the food is excellent as was our service! Will definitely return.

Pros: Quiet, nicely decorated, good food and service

Cons: Not really near anything

This is the best Persian restaurant in Marin (and the only one I can think of off the top of my head.) I didn't go here often as my moms home cooked chelo kabob is better, but its one of the better Persian restaurants I've been too. Services is good, and prices are fair. Parking is a little hard, but I've never had any trouble. I've only been a couple times since it changed ownership, but it's more or less the same. And I believe they cater as well.

The food is amazing. Though I almost always order the salmon kebab because it is the best salmon kebab I have ever found. The food is fresh, well prepared, and the waiters always have a good attitude.

I recently started taking belly dancing lessons. My instructor informed our class that she would be preforming at a local persian resturant on saturday. Me and some friends decided to check it out. The location was odd, but resturant was charing. It had a romantic ethnic flare. We immediately recieved service from a well-informed wait staff. They recommended some yummy persian specialties such as a yogurt drink called dough. The belly dancing show was amazing, she even got a few of the tables to start dancing with her. All in all it was a fun experience and I will definetly go back again.

Pros: fun, not too crowded, ambience, good service

Cons: weird location

We saw the change of name and thought we'd give the place a try. The place was large and had only one other table full. The owner/waiter, a very nice fellow from Sacto, took his time getting to us, but once there spent time talking. Both of our dishes were poor, almost to the extent that we would have sent them back but were afraid of any other dish by this time. We won't be going back.

Pros: Empty, so no waiting

Cons: There's a reason it was empty

So my boyfriend & I are in the mood for good mediterraean/persian food. We miss LA. So we citysearch and find this place. Sadly no ratings... So we took a risk... big mistake!

So it was Fathers day... and the place is in a strip mall... but we dont discriminate. We go in but the place has 2 different signs one read" Alborz" and the ither "Aldama." There were 3-4 families in the place. We arrived at 7:00... the waiter a gawky shy boy had no clue where to sit us... we took the iniative and sat towards the back. We got water & some greens, cheese, & flat bread ... but no utensils. No one came to check on us for another 20 minutes. As we are debating whether we should go get tacos at the taqueria down the strip mall I start to loudly wonder why we have no waiter. Then they come and take our order assuring us that they would "comp" us a FREE dessert because of our rude treatment. They take our order and then... 30 minutes later we still havent eaten. Two other families ordered, ate, and had their desserts in the time we sat pondering our empty water glasses! Finally the waiter notices our distress comes over and says "Your finished? Oh let me get your dessert?" He runs off to the dessert bar. At this time I tell my boyfriend, "I dont think he knows that we never got our entree! He thinks we already ate!" My boyfriend laughs and says "No, there's no way. He's bringing our food!" But then low and behold the waiter brings us what he says is "delicous ice cream." So I just started to laugh because it was so funny. I tell him, "Um we never ate our entrees. You never served our main course." He looked appalled and asked me to repeat myself. I said, "No... we havent eaten yet. We still have only had one glass of water and we have no utensils with which to eat our bread ahd cheese!" After another 20 minutes we finally eat---- yes, folks it took us over an hour to get our food.

Our advice: stay away. Look elsewhere. While it made for a g ood laugh it was still hard to be hungry for an hour & wonder when we were going to eat.
