Now that I'm moving again, it brought back memories of that nightmarish experience with AIR-RIDE a few years ago. But it's never too late to warn other consumers NEVER to use this company, even if they are the last moving company on earth! They are scam artists, and the owner, LONI LEVIN, goes by many other names. If you are lucky enough to catch him by phone, he would pretend it's not him and tell you he had other "brothers." They have locations in Granada Hills, North Hollywood, and possibly other locations in Southern California.

I filed a complaint against them -- for OVER-CHARGING for materials they didn't use and for services they did not perform, and for DAMAGES on my furniture and appliances -- with the California Public Utilities Commission. But in the end, nothing happened, as AIR-RIDE refused to pay the amount of damage we agreed upon on the claim form release. They started hiding, dodging phone calls, totally incommunicado. I was forced to file a case against them in Small Claims Court, but the case was considered "Not Served" as the defendant refused to accept the summons that was sent by registered mail to their business address. I could have served it via Sheriff Service, but by then, I was too exhausted to pursue the case, so I just gave up and went on with my life.

Bottomline: Do NOT use AIR-RIDE!!!

Its really too bad that these guys are are rated so badly but as I arranged to move my boss locally in the southern California area this weekend he said that the guys we great; careful, courteous and diligent.
Of course I read the reviews and check them out on LABBB and all was bad but I figured since their competitors had too many great reviews I found it a bit fishy but ultimately the service provided with the free estimate walk through on such short notice and the prompt follow up call had won over the decision to use Air Ride.
Full service move 45miles to destination with 3 guys for $95 an hr + additional total charges for packing material with NO hidden CHARGES estimated to be a little more than expected but was well worth the piece of mind.

Please note that state to state travel is much more difficult to determine the exact delivery schedule due to multiple drops and other factors such as weather and rest.

I made the worst mistake of my entire life by hiring the most unprofessional, lazy, and criminal organization known as Air Ride Moving & Storage. I was suckered in by an 890.00 quote to move 200 cubic feet of goods and had a 250 dollar increase in price. I moved a studio apartment that could not have added up to 250 cubic feet. After they picked up my stuff and loaded it on to their truck, they told me that I had 250 cubic feet of goods...without even measuring anything. I had no choice but to agree because they told me that they would not refund my deposit. The illegals that they hire to load and unload my goods were rough with everything. I told them to be careful and they looked at me like they didn't care. My stuff was picked up on August 20th and was supposed to be delivered on the 1st of September, like I was promised. September 1st came, and I hadn't received my stuff. When I called them to find out what was going on, I was told that they don't know when they will deliver. Finally, I got my delivery on September 4th, without notice, and had to watch the unprofessional movers be even rougher with my stuff. They threw all my stuff down in a hurry and took off. After opening the boxes, I noticed many broken items, including an lcd tv and my beds box spring. When I called them, they sent me a claim form to fill out. I filled it out and sent it and when I call for an update on the status, I am told that I have the wrong number. I contacted the Better Business Beurea and when they try to get a hold of Air Ride Moving, Air Ride tells them that they refuse to comment on my complaint. DO NOT, AND I REPEAT, DO NOT HIRE THIS FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED, CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION.

I contacted this company on 9/21/2007 and I needed a move for Saturday 9/22/2007 they stated they didn't have anything until 9/23/2007. So I agreed that I may not find anyone that could move me on Saturday so I went ahead and booked the appointment for that day. I was told that if I found another place to move my stuff on Saturday that I can just give them a call and they would cancel my appointment. They required that I give them $100 to hold the day and if I decided to go elsewhere to just give them a call 24 hours in advance. Well after doing some more shopping around I found a company that could move me on Saturday and were cheaper. I called Air Ride Moving & Storage back about an hour after I made the appointment to cancel. They gave me an e-mail address of airridemoving@gmailcom so I could write them letting them know I am going to cancel my appointment so I could receive my holding deposit back. After not giving it much thought thinking that all would be good it comes to find out that they never gave me back the $100 I put down. I called them on 11/3/2007 and talked to a manager and he said that they would have to look into it and give me a call back. He was completely rude to me the entire time even after I provided the e-mail I had sent to them. Its been 2 days and I haven't received a phone call from them at all regarding this matter. I would never recommend this company to anyone flat out. They are completely unprofessional and rude to people that have a problem with their service. Seeing how I work in the housing management business I get asked a lot about what companies are good for moving stuff; that is a lot of business they will not receive.

I went through Movers-dot-com and got a referral to AirRide Moving -- biggest mistake I've ever made with any move I've ever had.

Where do I start? They were all professional and prompt to reply when I was evaluating their service before I signed on with them -- and now when I have complaints that deserve to be addressed, I can't reach anyone. I call, I send e-mails, I've even reported them to the Better Business Bureau. No response or reply. Lame.

First of all, the estimate was WAAAY off. I went over my inventory with the sales person over the phone and she continually assured me that the estimate was exceedingly generous and would likely not be over the quote. Yes, we had more boxes than originally estimated -- but that shouldn't have added $2,000 to our $3,000 estimate for a total bill of $5,000 -- a full $1,000 higher than the highest quote we got from any other company.

Next, all the charges that the salesperson agreed to waive for us, re: stairs, etc? The move foreman seemed to know nothing about it, and proceeded to add more and more charges to our bill, all contradictory to the original quote.

Two professional movers came -- but they also hired on 4 day laborers (from god knows where -- maybe the home depot or U-haul parking lot) who essentially did most of the work. This was NOT a good thing -- they used a dolly from my apartment, overloaded it, and broke beyond repair. They stacked boxes overly high, such that I witnessed them falling several times, resulting in boxes that would split open and spill the contents. I saw them hastily try to repack the items with very little care -- god knows how many more times that happened since I wasn't able to supervise every stage of the move. I dread opening my boxes when my goods are finally delivered.

All in all, the absolute WORST movers I've ever worked with. NEVER EVER, EVER use them.
