Living on campus for two years you always had meal points to rely on. Though the only choice of sushi you had were packaged, unless you had a car and were willing to drive to get some good sushi in Downtown La Jolla and SD. Living off campus now for two years has definitely opened up the choices. Unfortunately since I still attend school everyday the choices become limited on weekdays. Shogun is located at the Price Center Plaza in UCSD, on the second floor. It's menu has sushi, udon, combo plates, and quite a selection of other items. Usually people go there for the chicken katsu or teriyaki bowls or combos. The prices have risen in the past year but it's not a bad deal if you're hungry and don't want the MSG filled Panda Express meals. They do actually have Asahi Beer there too so you can drink, of course you have to be 21. Overall the service is pretty fast (though if you pay with credit card the wait may take a little longer) and the food is decent. If you don't have time to go off campus to get Japanese food then I'd say either bring a sack lunch or give Shogun a try.

Nice little hangout spot conveniently located on the UCSD campus. Located on the second floor of the Price Center plaza, right next to the game room which includes pool table, a mini arcade, and ping pong table. I would recommend the chicken katsu bowl with the sauce on the side (they sometimes get too generous but if you really like sauce then go for it).

Great prices for some really good food.

Considering the small amount of choices on campus at UCSD, shogun is definitely where I eat the most. Their chicken katsu is decent and their udon is good for when it is cold. Their spicy chicken is also a good change of pace. The bowls are cheap and always fill me up but they have good deals on combos as well. Shogun is definitely the best in price center.

This convenient on campus restaurant has affordable prices and a decent selection too. Definitely a step up from Panda Express and they even have some sushi if you're into that. The game room attached has pool tables and a ping-pong table and is a cool place to relax.
