Oh, Mark Bledstein. The worst $15,000 I ever spent. To think, I could have spent that money on something far less useless, like a small fleet of golf carts to have a destruction derby match, and then gone with the public defender and still had a better outcome to my case than Mark Bledstein's office would have gotten me.

This review is particularly for Adam Koppekin, who's complete and utter lack of regard for keeping me informed in the process left me literally standing in the courtroom with no representation and no idea why.

After the beginning of my case, I was very upset and worried and didn't know who to go to. A random internet friend recommended Adam, who I only knew as the very persistent guy who occasionally hit me up on gay apps and facebook, pissed off at me because I wouldn't come over or accept his friend request, and that had apparently creeped on and taken my friend's passport, That should have been the end of it, but I didn't know any lawyers and I wasn't getting great advice at that stage of the game, so I went in anyways. His complete pessimism without really reviewing the case should have been another red flag, but he quoted me $15,000 as a "discounted rate" (I later got in touch with the lawyer who litigates for the NRA who offered to do it for the same price, although by that time I'd already spent the $15,000).

So horray, Adam was my lawyer. He started by delaying the proceedings. Again and again and again. For over a year he delayed the process for a variety of reasons. he actually appeared in the courthouse a grand total of three times, whereas I went to court faithfully every month. I can understand sending a substitute attorney, but he sent an immigration attorney with no experience in criminal law whatsoever who was reading off a script multiple times. She was very nice, but admitted to having "no idea what to do" in the event the judge didn't grant the perpetual extensions. The only advice I got from Mark Bledsteins's office was "just show up to court" and that they'd handle the rest.

It later became apparent that everyone in the courthouse hated him and his behavior. The DA was completely unwilling to deal with him, he irritated the judge, and what should have been a misdemeanor remained charged as a felony. I had no idea where we were in the process, and was shocked when he recommended I take the first deal the DA offered- a year in prison. He suggested, and I'm not making this up, "Maybe you'll find someone you like in prison." YEAH PRISON RAPE SOUNDS FUN THANKS ADAM. He expressed mild curiosity in me letting him know how long it would take to get out.

It was around this time he became aware that the stop I'd been arrested from may have been an illegal search. In spite of that, he avoided running a suppression motion to "avoid pissing off the judge and DA." I'd been pulled over while doing nothing illegal whatsoever, searched without my consent, and questioned without a lawyer or being read my miranda rights. Seems like that may be kind of a big deal, but Adam didn't want to make anyone mad, so we never ran the motion. Then, without preparing me at all, we did the preliminary hearing which was a total surprise to me. The judge overruled almost all of his very few objections and motions. He left reassuring me not to worry and just to show up to my next court date.

So I did, and he wasn't there. Instead another attorney was, who told me he was there to tell the court Adam no longer represented me. Unbeknownst to me since no one f***ing told me where in the process we were, he was only representing me through the preliminary stages which were now done, and had now dipped out and left me unrepresented. I was now in court with no representation at all. When I came in to discuss this, Mark acted very concerned, and asked for another $10,000. Since I no longer had that, it seemed like my options were to go f*** myself and get a public defender.

The public defender got me community service. Adam recommended I take a year in prison. COMMUNITY SERVICE. $15,000. A year in prison. Seriously?

It seems that in spite of not responding to his advances before hiring him, Adam Koppkin still got to f*** me on this one. Congratulations to you.

And to you, I say only this: Run.

Mark is one experienced lawyer who knows what he's doing. We're very pleased with the result that him and his associate got us. They are professional in the office as well as in the court room. Mark has the stamina and confidence when he walks into the court room. I always felt safe standing next to him..... in-fact, Mark and his associate Rose were persistent and went above and beyond to get us the result that we wanted. Our case was finally dropped! Though I don't ever expect to be in trouble again since I am his only one time client. Mark will always be my lawyer for life should I need his service again in the future. HE'S WORTH IT!!!!!!

My experience with this office was great. Although I don't expect to ever be in trouble again in my life, I would not hesitate for a second to call Mark Bledstein if I was. I always felt like I had someone in my corner. He didn't always come to court personally but his associate would and I didn't mind that at all because they were both equally informed about my case and competent to handle it. they went above and beyond with my case and got me trhough a scary experience without a scratch. His staff was very friendly and professional. I was in good hands and have no complaint and disagree with the opinion of the other writer. I found this site and was shocked that there was a negative comment. This other writer must have not gotten a great result and I guess everyone wants to blame the lawyer rather than themselves. My decision to hire Mark was the best thing I ever did. If he ever finds this letter he will know how thankfull I am. Thank you Mark for your excellent work(d.o.)

This attorney is very unprofessional and he does not show up to court. He seems to very interested in the beginning and that is only to get your money. He's a very smooth talker and I mean smooth, after he gets your money he totally avoids you and all calls. I am more than sure that his secretary is aware of the situation because they are all in it together. You can look him up on the internet and you will see other people that are filing against him which I will be doing also. Please do not give this swindler your money, because he is not giving anything in return.

PROS: PAID THIS ATTORNEY $5000.00 AND HE NEVER CAME TO COURT!!!!
CONS:
