65 years ago my mother left. I had very little information about her. Using ancestry dot com I found her at the Golden Gate National Cemetery.
So it was a 500 mile road trip to my Mom. Entering the cemetery there is a huge hill with roads that circle around and then a vista of endless perfectly aligned identical white grave stones.
I stopped at the admin office to find Mom. My heart was feeling like never before as I realized the genetic love boiling deep inside my sole. A woman was in the back and kindly looked Mom up and gave me a map to her.
I floated back to my car taking wind of the splendor and magic reverence of this special special place. Navigating the narrow well kept roads I headed towards a far corner for Mom. I was ten when she passed so that was 58 years ago.
Parking I sat in the car and gathered my wits but then water started flowing down my cheeks. It was not sadness or sorrow but pure love.
With some new way left the car. I heard the extra large beautiful tree to my left and inhaled the sunshine off the white perfect markers. With real excitement walked the perfectly trimmed grass rows and columns searching and then I saw Mom.
No words can begin to share what I felt. We were back together. Thank you US Army. Mom served in ww2 Aww Mom our love is so good. So good.

Not much of interest here as far as art. Military cemetery. The sheer number of identical stones is staggering though. Beautiful when viewed from the 280, but the side of it that is along El Camino Real that is surrounded by chain link fence and is across from a mall is not that nice of an atmosphere.

This is one of the most beautiful National Cemetary I have ever seen. The grass is always cut perfectly and you will not see one piece of trash anywhere. It is wonderful and touching to see that they take care of it in honor of all the veterans who gave up their lives for all americans.
