Sex offenders do actually stay here, they live here full time, they move from campground to campground , the membership is all they try to sell you, all they want is money , we had bites from flies all over us when we left there, alot of stalkers hanging around the pool area, watch out for trailors across from front pool , one guy sits there staring at women all day , sold my membership once i found out about all the sexual offenders in there.

Decent park, flies are bad in summer.

The previous review lies about sex offenders in the park, NONE even live within 2 miles of the park, according to Megan's Law Website.... The person who posted that, has some other issues or reasons for denigrating the preserve and figures no one would bother to check.....

Of the 57 Thousand Trails Preserves we have stayed in during the last 16 years, we enjoy Wilderness Lakes as one of the top five. The Preserves are called preserves instead of campgrounds, due to contracts at state and federal levels to Preserve the environment and Wildlife in them There is Free WiFi in both Lodges.. My wife especially enjoys hand feeding the birds. Thee are Canada Geese, Mallards, Coots, Herons, Night Herons, Morning Doves, Snow Geese, Ravens, Sparrows, Humming Birds year round, and many other birds which migrate so are just passing through. The lake and canals are stocked with fish on a regular basis, depending upon how many fish are reported caught. Generally at least every two months, sometimes oftener, and it is common to catch five pounder's sometimes larger fish. There are many, many activities such as crafts, hiking, volleyball, mini-golf, badminton, shuffle board, swimming with adult and family pools and Jacuzzi's.
The church services are more enjoyable than any other campgrounds we have been in for decades. They support the Salvation Army, Local and Foreign Missions and fill hundreds of shoe boxes for Christmas Gifts, collect for Toys for Tots, etc...
That list Just goes on, like the "Train Ride Tours of the Park" for fifty cents and too many other activities, to list them all.

This was my first experience in an RV Campground. The staff was extremely friendly and other "campers" were nice and friendly. Since then, I have stayed at other campgrounds which I prefer. Wilderness Lakes is located very close to a dairy and if the wind is coming in your direction, it is less than desirable. If you like to fish for catfish, we heard it was very good there, otherwise the green canal was not very attractive.

This was my first stay in my RV at an RV park, so the experience was all new. The staff were very friendly and so were "neighbors" in offering assistance. The park was quite large - a little dry and dusty. There were plenty of activities offered such as Tennis, Shuffleboard, and others. For my first experience, it was pretty good.

This RV park is nice enough and has some trees which is great. Hiking is close by so there are lots of fun things to do. The clubhouse has miniature golf, shuffle board, tennis and a few other games. Internet is availabel in the clubhouse too. We went in winter and it was a bit cool so we needed to bundle up on our hikes. They also served a really good dinner of chicken or another beef option, salad, beans, dessert for less than $8.

Message from Wilderness Lakes RV Resort

Wilderness Lakes RV Resort and Campground is a flat, 80-acre RV Resort in California with fishing canals that weave throughout the park. As a centrally-located RV camp, it is close to shopping, hospitals and freeways in California's Los Angeles region. The surrounding area has been changing quite dramatically with housing projects on two sides and dairy farms on the other. The temperatures are mild in the winter and warm to hot in the summer, making Wilderness Lakes a perfect RV campground no matter what time of year.

At Wilderness Lakes RV Resort and Campground, we have a total of 523 sites, which include rental units and cabins. Our general store is open five days a week for all of your convenience needs. Since fishing is one of our most popular activities, we stock the canals with channel catfish. Stop at the ranger station or visit the general store to purchase your required fishing permit for $10/day.

Locally, there are numerous golf courses within a 15-mile radius of Wilderness Lakes, one that is only two miles from the RV campground. Old Town Temecula is only 17 miles to the south of our RV camp and offers great dining and shopping in true California style. The Pechanga Resort and Casino is about 20 miles south of the resort and is the largest gambling casino in the state. It has weekend entertainment, seven restaurants and a non-smoking section for gambling. Diamond Valley Lakes is just 5 miles to the east of the resort and has boat rentals and fishing. Most of the major theme parks, such as Disneyland, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Wild Animal Park are all about 1 ½ hours away.
