It was a bit hard to find, who would think to turn into the mini mall parking lot, but there it was, and if you love history, this is an enchanting place. The tours do not start until two during the week, so we did not get the tour, which we will go back to attend. There are self guided audio tours (push the button on the wall) but there were so many interesting things we had questions about.

One thing we appreciated is how immaculate the grounds are kept; every inch has that well scrubbed look. There is a church, school, ranch house and adobe which can be partially toured if you visit during open hours. The kids loved the hand water pump outside the school house and were thrilled when water came out.

It is free to walk around and a great place to go with kids who need to run around and get their energy out.For an inexpensive lunch we headed south on Lake Forest Dr. and went to Subway and fed seven of us for fifteen dollars.

This park is gorgeous! I got married here and I remember falling in love with the place when I first saw it. It's hidden - it's actually in a secluded end of an Ace Hardware parking lot - but don't let that discourage you if you're looking for a unique wedding site. The only thing I didn't like is that there isn't a place to get ready onsite. But the prices are VERY reasonable and the site is gorgeous. A great find!
