Been going to see Richard and his son Jeff since 1996. They have a well run office and perform their services well. They don't accept credit cards. They have current technology such as CCD x-rays. They utilize magnification goggles to get a clear view of your teeth and see issues that might otherwise get missed until more severe.

I have been going to Dr. Sasaki for my dental services since 1997. He and his son Jeff have been very nice and professional and caring. My wife and kids also have been going for a long time and they have been very happy. My daughter had a school accident once and Dr. Sasaki recommended an orthodontist specialist to make sure everything was ok. If Dr. Sasaki recommends special procedures, do check with your insurance providers how much they will and will not cover. The dentist office may not always know the details of the different dental plans their patients have. This will help in deciding whether you are wanting to do the procedure and pay for part or all of it.

I had recently visited another dentist in the area (with a beautifully decorated office) who recommended that I have approximately $2,000 in "preventative" dental work done (like replacing old fillings). I then changed dental insurance companies, so decided to get a second opinion. I met with Dr. Sasaki, who performed a very thorough evaluation, spending a lot of time talking with me about my dental history before examining my teeth. I told him up front that I thought I might need some work done, although I wasn't having any pain.

Dr. Sasaki evaluated my X-rays and advised me that, in his opinion, I could safely take a "wait-and-see" approach to my teeth. He pointed out that although my fillings were old, they were in good shape -- no chips, no pulling away, etc. So he said that, as long as I wasn't having any pain, there really wasn't a medical reason to perform any work. Of course, I may break a tooth this weekend and wish in retrospect that I'd had the preventive work done ... but for now, I'm quite happy to avoid any drilling!

Dr. Sasaki's office environment probably reflects his conservative approach to dentistry -- clean and neat, but light on trendy "niceties" (like flat-screen TVs, headsets, etc.). However, he did have advanced dental technology, like a water-laser for tartar removal. And frankly, I prefer a dentist who eschews fancy artwork and gives me an honest opinion! I will definitely return to Dr. Sasaki for all my future dental needs.
